As soon as the meeting officially ended, the village began to take its first steps, preparing for war.

Both the elite jōnin, along with the base jōnin, were quickly gathered. Thousands of them listened to the speech that the Third War was inevitable, while each had their own opinion about it, but all would be committed to fighting for the village.

Missions would begin to be limited in the coming months.

Minato went to the capital of the Land of Fire and met with the Daimyō. The problems were laid out as they began to analyze what could be done. In any case, funding would be made available to the village, since they would need money — a lot of money — for the upcoming war.

The Daimyō did not want to risk being kidnapped in the middle of it in the same way he was when he was a child, so he wanted to strengthen Konoha.

"Avoid writing about this or even talking about it. New barriers will be implemented around your residence and the castle, it is best to remain here until the end of the war, even if it has not yet begun. And remember, it is better that this information does not spread. Even if we gain only a week or a month of advantage over the enemy, it is still an advantage", Minato said.

After that, he returned to Konoha, where he found Kushina and Tsuna working together to create barriers throughout the village.

Tsunade was organizing a tactical force of shinobi to act as medics on the battlefield, much more prepared than in the second great ninja war. Her problem with blood had been overcome even before implementing the wooden arm on Nawaki.

Minato did not stop thinking a little about his wife's uncle. He wanted to take him to Mount Myōboku to try the toads' Sage Mode, since he had failed with the one from the Shikkotsu Forest. Maybe there would be a new opportunity there.

Hanabi and Minato would continue doing their missions to make the children of their respective teams grow and be prepared for the battlefield.

Minato and Mikoto also decided to start doing infiltration missions with their flying abilities, they would be doing some at the same time with their teams, but without compromising the children.

Mikoto had agreed that she would enter the ANBU now, to carry out surveillance missions on the borders, agreeing that Tsuna would take care of Itachi.

Minato knew they might try to capture her, but Mikoto was already powerful enough to defend herself alone. He was sure she would be fine.

Tsuna decided to help with the barriers along with Kushina, while also helping her mother. Kushina would also assist in Tsunade's new medical formation for the war.

Minato met his students the next day, they all came to train.

"Sensei, is there going to be a war...?", Kakashi did not fail to speak when the three gathered at the training field. Obviously, he heard this from his father and quickly connected it with the mission Minato had done together with Hanabi.

"Exactly, Kakashi. Do not spread this, but we are preparing for a war. All nations see us as enemies and they would already attack. They had already been planning to take revenge for what happened in Uzushiogakure, the only reason the war has not started yet is because we returned to Konoha. They knew we are too great a threat to ignore after what happened, but now they are gathering even more allies and enemies of ours." Minato explained.

"W-War...?", Rin asked, seeming worried.

Minato sighed. "Remember everything I told you", he said, while they nodded. Minato had already given several speeches, showed the battlefield in the west, the number of people who died, and spoke about seeing comrades falling in front of him.

"We have some time. That is why I will focus on your training more than ever", Minato said. He paused, while he waited for them to absorb everything they heard, even Obito no longer seemed imperative, becoming serious without unnecessary comments.

"Well, let's begin", he said, creating multiple shadow clones, giving specific attention to each of the three.

Kakashi would continue with kenjutsu techniques, in addition to trying to create an elemental sword.

Minato would now give attention to Obito's possible Sharingan. Mikoto had given several tips to him, but it had not awakened yet, so he would have to do something about it.

Rin also had some problems. Her lack of chakra was concerning. Minato thought about talking to her later, but, the way she was, it was very likely that she herself would come talk to him. She seemed discouraged.

The original Minato disappeared from the training field and went to the Senju clan.

As soon as Minato approached, Nawaki, who was reading some scrolls, looked at him.

"Minato?", he said, surprised.

He would even say that Tsunade or Tsuna would not be there, but Minato probably already knew that as the greatest sensor in the village, so he was there precisely for him.

"There is something I would like to talk to you about. Do you have some time?", Minato asked.

Nawaki put away the scrolls. "Of course", he replied, a little curious.

As they approached, Minato took him to a training field. Nawaki understood immediately.

"I want us to have a small sparring session. I would like to understand your current strength."

"My current strength? Why?", Nawaki did not understand why Minato wanted that.

Minato simply smiled. "Let's say I want to train you, if that is not inconvenient."

"Train me?", Nawaki was surprised by that.

"Yes. I have three students, I am sure you know that, but I believe I can help develop your potential, at least for the war. What do you think?"

"Well... it would not be bad to be trained by you", Nawaki thought for a moment. He even became a little embarrassed when saying that, seeming to struggle against his pride, but Minato certainly would not be just any teacher.

Nawaki was still young, he was in his early twenties, and was not as petty as an elder and would be open to training and would not be so stubborn.

Minato believed he could help him and see what he was already learning from Duy about the Eight Gates, or from his sister. Minato could give him a different perspective with taijutsu, senjutsu and also teach jutsus. Nawaki also possessed the wind element, in addition to water and earth. Despite not having Mokuton, he was a prodigy with three natures.

"I want you to come at me with everything. Which gate are you at?", Minato asked.

"Sixth gate", Nawaki replied.

"Okay, release everything", Minato said.

At that same instant, Nawaki began to open each of the gates in his body, while chakra exploded violently.

In the next second, he shot toward Minato, who dodged without using the light fruit or any special ability — he just moved his body naturally.

At that point, Minato could already simply dodge without thinking, without doing anything other than moving with his natural speed.

Nawaki did not stop. He delivered another blow, while Minato merely tilted his head, dodging by centimeters. The boy was surrounded by a green aura, with a gaze full of fury. His teeth were clenched.

He took a step back before advancing again, attacking with even more intensity, while Minato continued dodging all the blows quickly.

"Good, the speed is good. It does justice to the sixth gate", Minato commented.

"I remember that you fought against Duy-sensei in that form. You should be slower!", Nawaki said, frustrated. He expected at least something more balanced, but just missing all the blows without Minato using anything was a bit humiliating.

"Do not compare me to that time, Nawaki. It has been more than three years. It is obvious that my body moves much faster now", Minato replied.

At that time, the war had just ended. Minato was still developing Armament Haki and many other things. Now, he did not even need to worry about that anymore. He was much stronger and possessed a much more powerful body.

And so, he continued dodging blow after blow, until Minato advanced.

With a single movement, he struck Nawaki, who immediately lost control of the sixth gate and fell to his knees, feeling the side effects.

"How... is this possible...?", Nawaki murmured.

Minato had simply blocked the sixth gate with a blow, shutting off the flow of chakra, almost as if he were pressing a meridian with the palm of his hand, like a Hyuuga would naturally do.

"It is easy to do that when you know the human body", Minato shrugged. He also understood the Eight Gates very well, so he knew how to stop them. He could not stop the eighth in any way, but up to the seventh it was possible to end it with a single blow if he had the chance.

Minato thought he would have to talk to Duy later. He should probably already be close to the eighth gate at that moment.

"There are three things I want to teach you for this war, Nawaki", Minato said, approaching him, who was still there, stiff, with his body rigid.

"First, I will teach you new taijutsu techniques, the Six Powers of the Navy. I ended up passing this on to Duy, and I believe you are capable of using it as well."

"Second, I want to take you to train at Mount Myōboku."

"And third, there are some jutsus I can teach you. They will not be earth or water, since you already master those elements well. Wind elements are another story. But there is a specific jutsu that suits you."

Minato raised his hand, and a Rasengan began to form.

He had already taught this technique to Kakashi. The first person was Jiraiya-sensei, then Kushina, who adapted very well to the jutsu. Kakashi was being the third and he believed Nawaki would be the fourth.

"Now the question is: do you want to spend the next few months training? I will not go easy on you, especially because you are already an adult, Nawaki."

"Wait, Minato... you are going to take me to Mount Myōboku? The one with the toads? You mean... Sage Mode? But I already failed at that", he said.

"That is true, but I believe you were just not in the right place to learn. The Shikkotsu Forest is different. Mount Myōboku treats Sage Mode in another way, and I believe it is ideal for you", Minato replied.

Perhaps the two elder toads were still Jiraiya's official support in the war, but, with the amount of chakra that a Senju like Nawaki possessed — a pure lineage, with much more chakra than a common Uzumaki —, and even more now that he had evolved so much in recent years with Hashirama's cells, his reserve had at least tripled.

Nawaki could learn Sage Mode and use it in the same way as Naruto, who had difficulties balancing natural energy through the toads with Kurama not allowing it at that time. If he managed to produce a perfect balance with natural energy, he could reach great power and become one of Konoha's greatest ninjas.

Minato believed that, if Nawaki had that control, he could be equal to Naruto in that aspect.

Minato took Nawaki back to the Senju clan. He was still partially paralyzed, but he would recover soon. His body was powerful, much more than Duy, Guy and Lee have when using the gates.

After that, Minato returned home, saw that everyone was training, left a message for his wives and disappeared from the continent.

He appeared on the other side of the world, in his training area in the isolated jungle.

Minato opened a buried box and took out a notebook. He liked to record his current strength there and what he still needed to develop.

There were two main areas he needed to improve.

The first was swordsmanship. He needed to become strong enough to cut mountains. After all, how could he fight against a Susanoo with a common sword? Cutting a Susanoo in half and leaving Madara shocked would be priceless.

The second was Observation Haki. It was already time to develop it to the point of seeing a few seconds into the future.

His Armament Haki was already close to its peak. Now, he needed to evolve Conqueror's Haki and learn to fuse it with Armament.

By achieving that, he would reach an unprecedented level of power.

"Let's begin... we have time before the war. It is time to reach a new level of strength."
