Chapter 461: Teacher Lu's First MV
Teacher Lu calculated the timing.
Before heading to the Mikuri Cup as a judge, he could first complete the promotional MV.
He would rent a studio in Jubilife City and bring Rotom along for outdoor shoots.
It wouldn't take long to finish the promotional MV for "Pokémon: FireRed."
Lu Ye remembered the original game's promotional MV was just simple black-and-white cutscenes.
This time, they would produce an HD version.
Lu Ye planned to recreate the animation content from the original series' opening in live-action for the MV.
Of course, the classic "Haunter vs. Nidorino" couldn't be omitted either.
After finalizing the upcoming action plan,
Lu Ye carefully asked Ruby about Wallace's event schedule. "The venue will be rented near Lake Valor in a small town as the stage for Contest Battles,"
Ruby said. "Water performances are an important part of Contest Battles, so besides the main stage, Lake Valor will also be included in the competition area."
"I heard Lake Valor will also host a fishing tournament."
Lu Ye laughed: "Sounds quite lively."
"Since the Sinnoh League is quite remote, the successful hosting of the Mikuri Cup benefits both Master and the Sinnoh League."
Ruby smiled slightly, then adjusted his headband thoughtfully:
"However, there's quite a workload involved, so Champion Cynthia probably won't oversee it personally."
Cynthia was currently busy handling aftermath matters regarding the Poaching Syndicate,
and applying for the "Lunar Wing" from the League for Teacher Lu.
"Don't worry, Aaron will support the Mikuri Cup," Lu Ye said casually.
"Eh? Why are you so sure?"
"Because that guy's current overtime work happens to fall under his job responsibilities."
Ruby froze, recalling how Aaron had just participated in the 'Snowpoint Temple Incident' before returning to League overtime.
Now he had to start preparing for the Mikuri Cup...
Ruby couldn't help but feel a surge of respect.
"Such dedication, Elite Four Aaron!"
...
Ruby invited Teacher Lu to be a judge, giving up his own judging seat.
Because he and Sapphire wanted to continue their honeymoon.
Having Teacher Lu as judge would also help Ruby explain things to his master Wallace.
Aunt Lorelei: "H-honeymoon!? (;´༎ຶД༎ຶ`)"
Damn it, they're still underage kids!!
Celadon Anemone whimpered like a small animal: "That sounds wonderful..."
Defeated Misty silently sent a 'licking lemon' meme.
During family gatherings, as the youngest of four sisters, Misty always got questioned about her relationship status.
But Misty felt too embarrassed to mention her romantic experiences.
Logically speaking, it was really Red being too dense, while Yellow was more proactive...
Teacher Lu looked up at the sky.
Clearly, clearly Misty came first - meeting Red, battling together...
But.
This kind of romantic rivalry was better left for the "Fighting Man" to handle!
Lu Ye chuckled happily:
"Let's all go together for the Mikuri Cup, I want to try fishing too."
Celadon Anemone: "No problem! (ノ゚∀゚)ノ"
Marshal sighed: "I'd like to go sea fishing too, but I've been busy with business lately, transporting several boatloads of customers."
Brock nodded sympathetically, eyes narrowed:
"I've been working as security at the Pewter City Museum for a month now."
Lu Ye was shocked.
Workers work, workers soul!
Without working, how could one spend money to become stronger on the trainer's path!?
"What about challengers for the gym?" Green asked.
"I had Jiro temporarily take over as gym leader, and it's working well."
Brock said with slight emotion, his resolute face showing a faint smile.
"I feel... my younger siblings are gradually growing up too."
"Family members should share burdens with each other."
Lila said gracefully: "Just like trainers and Pokémon need to grow together."
Lu Ye raised an eyebrow.
In just one year, he and his little companions had indeed grown a lot.
But... his original dream of financial freedom remained distant.
Still needed to keep making that easy money!
Lu Ye @Ash: "Hey dummy, free this weekend?"
Ash, currently training with Aogen on Iron Island, scratched his head:
"My training ends this week, why?"
Lu Ye: "Oh, want you to be the male lead in my first MV."
"!!!!"
The entire chat group was shocked.
"Choosing Ash as male lead... might feel a bit off?" Green mused.
The real protagonist should be me... or that guy!
"When talking about star trainers, of course it should be Kris from New Bark Town!" Kris volunteered.
Whitney covered her forehead: "Please have some shame, Kris!"
"Don't think being close to Miss Walnut means you can slander star trainers!" Kris gritted his teeth.
"Wanna fight? Come duel me in Goldenrod City!" A vein popped on Whitney's forehead too.
Lu Ye skillfully muted both and coughed:
"The game is based on Red's prototype, but we can't have Red play himself."
"I'm currently training at Mt. Silver."
Red smiled apologetically: "No time for the project either."
Lu Ye nodded:
"Ash being from Pallet Town should work well too."
"What about the song?"
As a celebrity, Sabrina coldly said: "No matter how polished the visuals, it's useless without catchy melody."
"Have you all forgotten about a certain EDM producer who's released albums?!"
Marshal crossed his muscular arms, grinning: "Teacher Lu, just beg me and..."
Lu Ye: "I'll write the lyrics and compose myself."
Marshal: "Nani!?"
Kris mercilessly teased:
"Old man, you only have 10k+ fans... Teacher Lu gets hundreds of thousands per single."
Marshal gnashed his teeth.
Don't expose people's weaknesses, damn Kris!
"About acting... I don't mind,"
Ash scratched his head awkwardly:
"But I'm not really good at singing..."
"Don't worry, no one is born tone-deaf!"
Lu Ye declared: "With enough training, anyone can sing singles!"
Ash's eyes gradually lit up.
"I understand! Teacher Lu, please let me star in this MV!"
He's so easy to fool...
Lu Ye coughed into his fist:
"Then... let's meet in Jubilife City this Sunday."
"I'll find a teacher in advance to coach you onsite!"
Ash: "Understood!"
The group chat members showed great interest in the MV production and song.
"We could film on location in Pallet Town!" Blue suggested.
"Professor Oak would probably be willing to make a cameo..." Green didn't hesitate to sell out his grandfather.
Seeing the enthusiastic discussion, Lu Ye nodded satisfied.
Then he dialed Team Rocket Trio's contact.
"Meowth, you there? Got a student who needs singing lessons!"
