I Really Didn’t Want to Be a Trainer

Chapter 452: The Awakening of Regigigas

Tuesday, March 9th.

Snowpoint City was experiencing a rare clear day.

The snow-capped peaks of Mt. Coronet glittered brilliantly under the sunlight.

The entire city stood eerily empty, with only Officer Jennys, Nurse Joys, and League personnel remaining on guard.

Candice, aware of her limitations, had stayed behind to maintain order rather than heading to the temple.

While organizing evacuations and keeping the peace,

She made a shocking discovery - Team Rocket members had appeared throughout the city!

Though Team Rocket wasn't officially listed as a criminal organization by the Sinnoh League,

Their notorious reputation preceded them.

Many citizens still regarded them with suspicion. Yet these black-uniformed members simply performed their duties as a delivery service.

The prominent 'R' logo on their backs shone brightly under the sun!

"Rocket Delivery - Mission Guaranteed!"

Lu Ye stood atop a snow-covered observation deck, overlooking the frozen white expanse of Snowpoint City.

"Not bad," he murmured with a faint smile.

"Seems the privileges I got from Boss Giovanni... actually came in handy!"

Matori had long given up questioning her mentor's decisions.

Here she was - the second-in-command of a notorious villainous organization, with management skills worthy of history books...

And she'd been assigned to run a delivery company?!

"Fine then!" Matori gritted her teeth, tears welling up.

"I'll show you how well I can do this job!"

The crunch of snow interrupted them.

Lu Ye, clad in a brown overcoat, turned to see Aogen approaching.

"The evacuation is complete," the gentlemanly Aogen said, tipping his hat. "Now comes the main event."

"Where's Aaron and Ash?"

"They've already gone ahead to Snowpoint Temple."

Aogen joined Lu Ye at the railing, gazing wistfully at the sunlit city.

"It's beautiful..."

"I heard Cynthia tell a legend about this place and Regigigas," Lu Ye suddenly said.

"You're knowledgeable about mythology too?" Aogen looked surprised.

"The story goes that this was once a primeval forest until a meteor struck, causing wildfires," Lu Ye recalled Cynthia's bedtime-story tone when sharing myths.

Unconsciously, his voice carried warmth.

"From the flames emerged an ancient giant who created golems from ice, rock, and steel... using special energies."

"With the Legendary Titans' help, Regigigas protected Snowpoint before returning to slumber."

After a long silence, Aogen remarked:

"It doesn't sound like the aggressive type."

"Who knows?" Lu Ye shrugged. "Another legend says Regigigas once punched a continent in half."

Aogen's expression froze. He licked his lips nervously.

"So we might be facing... that kind of terrifying deity."

Sunlight pierced the clouds, casting golden rays across snow-laden rooftops.

A faint green membrane shimmered over the city's structures.

Lu Ye squinted at the phenomenon.

"That barrier... your doing with Aura?"

Aogen nodded.

"My Aura specialization - creating barriers using low-frequency waves."

"Specialization?" Lu Ye blinked.

"Techniques passed down through generations of Aura Guardians," Aogen explained. "Some heal with Aura, others sense with it."

"One's standout ability becomes their specialty."

Understanding dawned on Lu Ye.

So Ash's specialty must be Aura-enhanced physical prowess!

"Then what's my Aura specialty?" Lu Ye asked curiously.

Aogen hesitated before answering gravely:

"Your Aura... is exceptionally long."

Lu Ye: ???

"Long wavelength - a technical term like radio transmission," Aogen clarified with a smile. "It complements certain Pokémon, filling their deficiencies."

I think he's making an innuendo but I can't prove it!

Clearing his throat, Lu Ye changed subjects:

"So I can use Aura to boost Pokémon affection?"

After consideration, Aogen nodded.

"What about Ash? That kid you met - your ancestor!"

"Honestly... I can't comprehend that boy," Aogen admitted. "He's like a Lucario... no, even hardier than one!"

Lu Ye mentally applauded the professional assessment.

Now that's an expert Aura Guardian's analysis!

While Lu Ye's Aura abilities had proven useful daily,

His "Aura Power" remained intermediate at best - no match for decades-trained masters.

Not that he planned to train properly when system-granted "Special Upgrade Tickets" existed.

"Realistically, can we stop Regigigas together?"

"Slim chance," Aogen said seriously. "But worth trying."

Lu Ye gazed toward the distant Snowpoint Temple.

RUMBLE—

The mountains continued trembling, avalanches threatening.

Even Snowpoint City felt the vibrations.

"Three days of this snoring already!" Lu Ye grumbled.

While Regigigas's "Slow Start" had granted evacuation time,

The growing tremors and oppressive atmosphere weighed heavily on everyone.

In his Dive Ball, Blastoise sensed crushing pressure, sweating profusely.

Aura-sensitive and overwhelmed, it struggled to breathe—

Before gripping its Deep Sea Tooth, adjusting sunglasses with renewed determination!

CRASH—!!!

Massive ice chunks broke from the mountain as avalanches gathered momentum.

The sky darkened as the earth quaked violently!

Lu Ye and Aogen exchanged alarmed looks.

This wasn't minor tremors anymore—

This was a stretching deity awakening!

"Trouble..." Lu Ye's heart pounded.

Red, Green, Steven... all still en route!

"We need to reach the temple now!"

Aogen summoned his Salamence.

With a roar, the crimson-winged dragon whipped up gales as Aogen mounted it.

"Allow me to guide you, Sir Lu!"

Lu Ye eyed the broad back and windshield-like wings.

My kind of ride!

Salamence stiffened under some unseen scrutiny—

Then foreign Aura surged through its wings!

Eyes bloodshot, it flapped violently, stirring cyclonic winds!

"Whoops! Aura slip!" Lu Ye winced.

"Aura isn't infinite," Aogen cautioned nervously. "Perhaps... use restraint?"

"No worries, I've got about ten more of those daily."

Aogen: ???

Why did he feel inexplicably jealous?!

Despite Salamence's reassuring size, Lu Ye told Rotom:

"If I fall, use Ally Switch to catch me."

"Does not compute! Σ(°△°|||)︴"

"You can float, what's there to fear?"

The temple grew larger as they approached.

Ash waved from snowy slopes: "Mr. Lu! Over here!"

As Salamence descended, Lu Ye surveyed their "raid party"—

Aaron adjusting glasses in the snow,

Pyramid King Brandon watching him with mixed awe and... fear?

"Ash is just observing, Aaron's our only real Elite Four member..."

Lu Ye sighed.

I'm the main DPS here?!

"Maybe we should just have Ash punch Regigigas..."

BOOM—!!!

Crimson light erupted through the temple's dome into the clouds!

Everyone gulped as Brandon solemnly declared:

"Prepare yourselves!"

......

Mt. Coronet, Sinnoh.

A purple draconic streak tore across the mountain range.

Garchomp's jet-like form cut through clouds, contrails streaming behind.

Cynthia clung to her partner, golden hair whipping in the wind, black coat fluttering.

Her steely gray eyes burned with determination as overwhelming power radiated from her.

"Wait for me... Lu Ye!"
