Lu Ye announced to the little ones that they would be participating in the tournament.
He also set a few ground rules:
“Fun comes first, competition second.”
Lu Ye continued, “It’s fine if we lose, just don’t get hurt.”

Sylveon bared its teeth, exuding an intimidating aura.
“Squirtle!ヾ(⌐■_■)”
Squirtle adjusted its sunglasses and cautiously inspected its shell.
“Arf? (O_o)??”
Growlithe looked confused but still let out a loud bark. Lu Ye’s expression turned strange.
Are you guys seriously going in with this "villain gang" vibe?
Thank goodness Growlithe doesn’t have Justified, or it would never fit in with this crew!
Lu Ye rubbed his forehead. “No need to be so serious… I’m not aiming for the champ—”
Before he could finish, Gengar cut him off with a sharp gesture.
“Gengar! (σ｀д′)σ”
Then, Gengar clenched its tiny fists and declared:
“Gengar!” (We’re going for the championship!)
The room instantly erupted into chaos.
“Bui!” (Charge!)
“Squirtle, squirtle!” (You guys go first, I’ll cover you!)
“Arf!” (Dinner time!)
Silence fell.
Every Pokémon in the room turned their eyes toward Growlithe.
Growlithe froze, a bead of sweat sliding down its forehead.
“Such great enthusiasm!”
Lu Ye rubbed his chin and murmured, “Making it to the top 64 shouldn’t be a problem…”
That afternoon, Gengar led the squad to the club for training.
Lu Ye stayed home to work on setting up his company.
Preparing for the tournament? Gengar had that covered.
Right now, the real priority was planning ahead—launching his company and developing a new game project.

Lu Ye had no intention of doing it himself. He’d just hire a secretary to handle everything.

He called her up, outlined his requirements, and received a prompt, respectful response:

Just thirty minutes later, she sent over several suitable office locations in Modu.
Lu Ye was honestly impressed by her efficiency.
“By the way,” Madame Boss asked, “your company… it’s in the gaming industry, right?”
“Yeah, why?”
“If needed, you can use Team Rocket’s internal personnel.”
“That won’t be necessary,” Lu Ye chuckled. “But when I open a Kanto branch, lend me Meowth and the gang.”
“Of course. Just say the word, don’t hesitate to ask!”
Over the next three days, Lu Ye waited for the company registration to be processed.
Madame Boss, now acting as his temporary HR, was in charge of hiring a secretary and technical staff.
“By the way, I’m sending you a résumé. Help me conduct the interview.” Lu Ye said.
“I met her at a research summit—she’s studying Dynamax phenomena. Her name’s Oleana.”
“Understood.”
Madame Boss nodded. “I’ll assess her with the highest standards.”
A qualified secretary needed expertise in multiple fields to truly support the boss.
If she wanted to be Lu Ye’s secretary, her professional skills had to be top-notch.
With that thought in mind, Madame Boss initiated a video interview with the Galar Region’s Dynamax scholar.
“Can you hear me?”
On the screen appeared a young woman with chestnut brown hair and deep green eyes. She adjusted her glasses nervously, looking a bit shy.
Madame Boss gave a firm nod. “Start with a self-introduction and explain why you want to join this company.”
Oleana lowered her gaze for a moment, then looked back at Madame Boss with newfound determination.
“I previously worked at Macro Cosmos Group, with three years of experience in Dynamax research. I hold an advanced accounting certification and have studied corporate management…”
Madame Boss nodded as she jotted down Oleana’s credentials, her eyebrows raising slightly.
She had already reviewed the résumé, but hearing it firsthand was still impressive.
Where on earth did Teacher Lu dig up such an outstanding talent?
Oleana answered every technical question with ease.
Madame Boss couldn’t help but feel a little self-conscious.

Clearing her throat, Madame Boss asked, “Now, tell me why you want to join this company.”
Then, after a pause, she added, “By the way, Team Rocket offers excellent benefits—far better than this company. You might want to reconsider.”
Oleana shook her head and replied seriously, “Mr. Lu Ye… was the first senior to ever encourage me.”
“I think… if I can join his company and work alongside him—”
She pushed up her glasses, glanced downward, then stammered, “It… it would be an incredibly lucky opportunity!”
Madame Boss’s expression turned odd.
Teacher Lu might be handsome, but he’s the ultimate hands-off boss!
Are you sure you’ll even get to see him working?
She had serious doubts.
“Last question.”
Madame Boss stacked the papers together. The decision was practically made, but she still asked, “What are your hobbies? The company gives out year-end perks.”
This type of employee care was a suggestion from Teacher Lu.
Sure, it wasn’t as straightforward as giving out cash, but these little details played a big role in company culture.
“H-hobbies?”
Oleana’s face turned bright red. Suddenly, her expression became intense as she blurted out:
“I—I like collecting photos of Teacher Lu! Battles, cooking… I’m only missing pictures of him sleeping and shower—”
Madame Boss coughed violently.
What kind of weird hobby is this?!
“S-sorry.”
Oleana lowered her head, her neck flushed. “That was inappropriate of me…”
Hiring this person for Teacher Lu… is this really okay?
Madame Boss hesitated, glanced once more at the impeccable résumé, then clenched her teeth and said:
“You’re hired!”
“Huh? Oleana got hired?”
Lu Ye received the message from Madame Boss and raised an eyebrow.
“I thought, since she’s a researcher, her skillset wouldn’t meet your standards.”
“Why don’t you experience it firsthand?”
Madame Boss’s tone was a little strange. “Honestly… she’s about as capable as I am.”
Lu Ye was speechless.
Madame Boss was someone who managed an entire branch of Team Rocket.

“By the way, the office location has been finalized. You can go check it out.”
Madame Boss added, “And if you’re planning to open a Kanto branch in the future, just contact me.”
“I can’t just send money your way, but I can definitely offer some help!”
Teacher Lu’s new company was simply named "Pokémon."

Oleana had switched to wearing contact lenses. She was now dressed in a sleek office skirt with black stockings, paired with round-toe heels.
Holding a file folder, she walked alongside Lu Ye and continued, “The demand for our next game is extremely high. We should use this to conduct market research…”
Lu Ye felt a strange sense of familiarity.
That’s when it hit him—he finally realized why her name had sounded so familiar before.
Now, seeing her in this outfit…
Oleana—the future executive of Macro Cosmos, the secretary to Chairman Rose, and a top-tier corporate leader.
Her abilities completely outclassed Madame Boss!
“I’ll carefully consider the new project.”**

Oleana blushed for a split second, then quickly hugged her file to her chest and nodded seriously.
“I’ll be out for a while. I’m leaving the company in your hands.”
Lu Ye waved. “Feel free to continue your research—just do whatever interests you!”
As she watched Lu Ye walk away, Oleana’s gaze became dazed for a moment.
Then, she tightened her grip on the folder, her expression resolute.
She had heard that Teacher Lu was participating in the League tournament…
If becoming champion was his dream, then her dream would be the same.
“The research on Gigantamax… must continue.”
Oleana murmured, “If it can help Teacher Lu, that would be even better!”
