Alpha's Secret Bride

Chapter 112: The Journey to Ashley’s Villa and the Truths Beneath Smiles

The soft aroma of brewed coffee filled the chamber as she lifted the cup to her lips, pausing for a brief moment to inhale deeply.

"Did he eat before going to his duties?" she asked quietly.

"Yes," she responded. "He also made this for you." She pointed at the cup of coffee in her hand. Then she walked toward the window, taking in the quiet luxury that surrounded the estate.

"He really needs to teach me how to brew," she said and they giggled.

"Some warriors are here to take you to Ashley’s Villa."

"When did they arrive?"

"What? So early?"

"Alpha’s mate, I hope everything is alright."

"Everything is fine, Mrs. Thompson."

"Does it have anything to do with the gathering you had with the alpha king last week?"

"No."

"Alright."

"Where is my moonally?"

"She is in the laundry chamber. She has checked up on you twice this moonrise."

"And Nina?"

"She is in her chamber."

"Please, tell Brooklyn to get ready; she is going with me."

"Alright." She said and left. Emma rushed to the bathchamber and performed her hygiene routine. She dressed after bathing and packed some of her clothes in a small bag.

When she emerged, her hair was styled elegantly by Naomi and Paige, framing her face in a soft, Luna-worthy glow.

A small breakfast was brought in, but she only picked at it—too restless to eat.

"My starlit, I want to see you before I leave," she sent through their telepathic connection to Brandon.

"I’ll see you in the moonfall. I love you," he replied immediately. She felt encouraged. Within hours, everything was ready.

They stood up and followed the drivers.

A convoy of black vehicles waited outside.

Her father had sent them.

She had seen Audi A8 but she never knew she would step into one one day.

The car door opened.

The moment Emma stepped inside the Audi A8, her breath caught.

Luxury wrapped around her instantly—smooth leather seats, silent engine, refined scent, and a level of security she had never experienced before.

It felt... unreal.

For a moment, she forgot who she was.

A High Fang Regent’s pup.

A powerful Alpha’s mate.

Brooklyn beside her couldn’t hide her excitement, eyes scanning everything like a pup in a sacred temple.

Neither of them spoke much.

The silence itself felt expensive.

But the calm shattered the moment they arrived.

In the basement of the vast villa, a she-wolf stood waiting near one of the vehicles.

Apparently waiting for one of her father’s drivers. Her eyes were red and it was obvious she had been crying.

The moment she saw Emma, something in her expression hardened. She stared coldly at her then she stepped forward. Emma figured out who she was the moment she spoke.

"I guess you are the mate he told me about?"

Her brows furrowed slightly. The question caught her off guard, and for a moment, she didn’t know whether to feel offended or amused. Why would anyone think that?

"No."

She answered quickly, but a small knot formed in her chest. It felt strange having to deny something so wrong, yet the assumption unsettled her more than she expected.

"Who are you then?"

She hesitated. The answer was simple, yet saying it out loud always carried a weight she couldn’t quite explain. Would she believe her... or question her even more?

"I’m his moonpup."

The words came out softer this time. A quiet pride stirred within her, but it was mixed with uncertainty—she wasn’t used to explaining herself to strangers.

"He doesn’t have two moonpups."

She stiffened slightly. A spark of protectiveness rose in her chest. Whether he had a moonmate or not wasn’t the point... he is her father, and somehow, that felt like the only thing that truly mattered.

"He does," Emma responded and tried to walk away.

A hand grabbed her wrist. Hard.

Emma stumbled slightly, surprise flashing through her aura.

The she-wolf’s breath trembled. "I’m sorry..."

Her grip loosened, but her pain was obvious now.

"I’m just so disappointed! When he called me at 3:20 am and told me he had something to discuss with me, I sent messages to my moonallies and told them that the moment I had been waiting for had finally come.

I thought he was going to propose... not end five winters of bond like it meant nothing." She sniffed and Emma felt for her. She guessed Emily didn’t tell Ashley about her sexual struggles as they had agreed. He might not have ended things if she had opened up. Emma couldn’t wait to see Emily and find out what truly happened.

Emma’s expression softened slightly.

"I didn’t know..."

"You wouldn’t understand," the she-wolf whispered bitterly. "Unless you’ve been replaced."

Silence fell between them.

Then Emma exhaled.

"Would you talk to him, please?"

"I...I’ll try," Emma shrugged and continued walking towards the exit. Brooklyn walked beside her. Emily was very happy the moment she saw them and Emma couldn’t wait to find out why she suddenly became very happy.

Emily’s communication device buzzed immediately after they finished exchanging pleasantries, and she excused herself, her wolf senses already alert to the call.

Emma and Brooklyn walked into the grand sitting chamber and Emma jostled slightly. The entire space was filled with about twenty-five he-wolves and she-wolves whose aura and attire reflected that of high-ranking pack legal enforcers. Scrolls, rune-etched papers, quills, and official pack stamps were scattered across the large glass center table and all the side tables.

"Hi," she waved at the wolves. Those who hadn’t sensed her presence heard her voice and lifted their heads. They acknowledged her with brief waves before returning to their duties. One after the other, they rose and exited the sitting chamber with disciplined coordination.

"What are they doing?" Brooklyn asked.

"You don’t expect Ashley Ashford to go to the council chambers himself; do you?" She bragged with a proud smirk. Brooklyn burst into laughter, her wolf amused.

The mansion was vast, almost like a pack territory on its own, and Emma wondered how Ken and Ashley even managed to stay connected within it. They continued roaming, their senses drinking in every luxurious detail, until they arrived at a breathtaking hall bathed in a soft blue glow that made the glass walls shimmer like enchanted moonstone. Brooklyn suddenly shuddered and froze the moment she caught sight of Emma’s father.

Ashley and Emily sat on an enormous sofa, their attention fixed on a large glowing monitor before them. Ken stood tall behind them, his alpha presence dominant, his arms folded across his chest. Ashley gestured for Emma to come forward, and she obeyed. Brooklyn vanished instantly—only the Moon Goddess knew where she had slipped off to.

Emily, who leaned against Ashley’s chest, didn’t even lift her head to acknowledge Emma. The transformation in her aura was striking—it startled Emma deeply—but the incoming call had interrupted any reaction. Emma locked her gaze on her as she approached. Ashley looked irresistibly commanding in his perfectly pressed black thobe, radiating alpha authority. Ken grinned and pulled Emma closer, pointing at the monitor on the wall. A he-wolf seated among others—likely his pack kin—smiled warmly and waved at her. She returned the gesture. There was a faint resemblance between him and Ashley. His mate, a cheerful she-wolf, waved excitedly. The he-wolf and Ken communicated through subtle gestures, their bond was obvious.

"I’m Sebastian Ashford. I’m your father’s elder sibling."

"Nice to meet you, Sebastian," she replied. Emily suddenly lifted her head and stared at Emma in shock. Emma understood why—she should have said ’Uncle Sebastian.’

"I guess he didn’t tell you he has a sibling."

"He has many things to tell me, and he’s taking them one at a time."

"No, he is supposed to tell you about his elder sibling and your cousins first."

"Please, p...pardon him," Emma said. Ashley looked up at her, amused, and laughter filled the space.

"I’m just kidding," Sebastian said after laughing. "Meet your first cousin, Sebastian Junior, and your second cousin, Audrey."

"We’ll be there on Sunday to celebrate with you," Audrey said happily, her energy vibrant as she swayed.

"Emma, you are welcome to the pack once again," Claire, Sebastian’s mate, added warmly. Moments later, the screen faded to black after their farewells.

"Emma, why were you staring at your mother like you had seen a ghost?" Ashley asked.

"She looks different. I just wanted to be sure it was really her," Emma shrugged. Ken giggled, holding her hand. "Probably their discussion turned into another fight." They all laughed. Ken tried to pull her along with him, but she hesitated—she needed to speak with her mother.

"Where are you going?"

She asked, watching her sibling closely. There was something about the way he moved that made her uneasy, like he already had everything planned out—including her.

"My exclusive lounge."

She nodded faintly, but a small tension built in her chest. He always had his reasons, and somehow, she felt this had something to do with Brooklyn.

"I’ll join you later."

The words slipped out, but she wasn’t entirely sure she meant them. A part of her wanted to stay away from whatever he was setting up, yet another part didn’t want to disappoint him.

"Are you sure?"

His question made her hesitate. He knew her too well—well enough to hear the doubt she tried to hide. It made her feel slightly cornered.

"Yes."

She forced the answer, holding his gaze. Even as she said it, she could feel her resolve wavering. Why did it feel like she was resisting something inevitable?

"Alright, come with her."

Her chest tightened slightly. Of course... that’s what this was about. He wasn’t just asking—he was nudging her toward something she wasn’t ready to face.

"Who?" she asked, feigning ignorance.

But deep down—She already felt it.

Whatever was waiting in that lounge...

Was not just a meeting.

It was a revelation.

And it was already beginning.
