Cultivation: I Have a Golden Talisman

Chapter 239 - 37: Visiting Feng Ling’s Cave Mansion (Part 2)

Golden Furnace Peak was lush with flowering trees and numerous Spiritual Birds. The air was thick with spiritual energy, and the scenery was breathtakingly beautiful. Feng Ling, having only recently entered the Life Talisman Realm, had claimed a Cave Mansion at the foot of the mountain.

Fang Cheng landed his Escape Light before the Cave Mansion’s entrance. With a flick of his finger, he sent a beam of sword light striking the shimmering barrier of the restrictive array.

The barrier rippled like water, emitting a series of clear, pleasant Spirit Sounds that traveled into the Cave Mansion.

In no time, a charming young woman in a sea-green dress emerged, moving with graceful elegance. She looked at Fang Cheng with curiosity.

"Young Master... Fang!" Upon seeing Fang Cheng, the young woman’s beautiful, expressive eyes lit up, and she hurried to offer him a curtsy.

This was none other than Feng Ling’s Maid, Wan’Er.

The two had met ten years ago. Now, though times had changed, Wan’Er looked exactly the same.

The passage of time had left no mark on her; she was still young, beautiful, and simple-hearted.

Fang Cheng smiled. "Is Fellow Daoist Feng in her residence?"

Wan’Er nodded and said softly, "My lady is cultivating in the Quiet Chamber. Please follow me, Young Master."

With that, she took out a Jade Pendant to deactivate the Array, allowing Fang Cheng to enter.

They entered the Cave Mansion one after the other. The interior was elegantly furnished, exuding a sense of warmth and comfort, and a fresh fragrance of a hundred flowers filled the air.

After inviting Fang Cheng to sit, Wan’Er served him Spirit Tea before going to fetch Feng Ling.

A short while later, Feng Ling emerged, dressed in a black gown.

A faint, alluring fragrance wafted to him.

Upon seeing Fang Cheng, Feng Ling felt a pleasant surprise, but she maintained a poised and elegant demeanor on the surface. She asked in a gentle voice, "Fellow Daoist Fang, what brings you here in person?"

Fang Cheng set down his teacup and got straight to the point. "The secret letter I gave you some time ago—have you confirmed its authenticity?"

Feng Ling nodded and sat in the host’s seat. "What the letter said was true. We have already brought that Immortal Seed back to Yinluo Island."

Fang Cheng asked curiously, "Is it really the legendary Celestial Fire Body?"

"Yes. After we returned, we re-tested his constitution with several Secret Techniques. It is indeed identical to the Celestial Fire Body of legend. Speaking of which, I have you to thank for this, Fellow Daoist. If not for your advance warning, the Feng Family would have lost a future family member of at least the Inner Sect Elder Level."

Feng Ling’s voice was gentle and pleasant as she explained.

From her tone, it seemed the Celestial Fire Body’s future accomplishments would, at a minimum, reach the mid-to-late stages of the Life Talisman Realm.

He might even have a chance to ascend to the Life Soul Realm.

Fang Cheng sighed. "It is said that the world’s Cultivators are divided into three types. The first is born with knowledge, the second learns knowledge, and the third gains knowledge through hardship... This Immortal Child, I fear, belongs to the first type."

Feng Ling smiled. "When it comes to the path of Fire Element Techniques, he is indeed ’born with knowledge’—just like you, Fellow Daoist, with the way of the Sword Technique."

Fang Cheng gave a faint smile. ’I know my own situation best. If not for the help of that mysterious Golden Talisman, I’m afraid I wouldn’t even qualify as the third type.’

’At least those who can comprehend the methods of cultivation under duress and pressure have decent comprehension.’

’Unfortunately, the original owner of this body could barely manage that. The only reason I’ve come this far is because my cheat is so powerful.’

Feng Ling considered herself exceptionally talented. Back when she was an Inner Sect Disciple, she could compete with the prodigy of the Wang Family. Still, she was in the realm of ’learning knowledge’ and had not reached the level of being ’born with it.’

Fang Cheng chatted with Feng Ling for a bit longer and learned that the Feng Family’s retrieval of the Immortal Seed had not been smooth sailing.

The Flame God Palace had also made a move.

After Luo Huangqiao fell in the Abyssal Marsh, the Qiao Family took action again, passing the news of the Celestial Fire Body to the ears of a certain major figure in the Flame God Palace...

On the Feng Family’s side, besides the various elders in the Clan Elders Council, there were also five Life Talisman Cultivators training on Yinluo Island.

Two of them were Inner Sect Elders. One, named Feng Jiuzhang, was someone Fang Cheng had met years ago. He was an expert in the Array Dao and had once fallen for Ren Yan’s and the Xiao Family’s scheme in the Southern Mang Mountains, nearly perishing at the Nightmare Demon Valley Bottom.

The other also cultivated on Golden Furnace Peak and rarely made public appearances.

The remaining three were all True Disciples. One was on Demon Lion Peak, a disciple under Sun Fuguo. He was an expert in Sword Technique, with strength that surpassed his peers, and was chosen as one of the Seven Fierce of the Law Enforcement Hall.

This was none other than Fang Cheng’s Third Senior Brother, Feng Ziang.

Another was said to be cultivating on Wo Yun Peak.

This time, to retrieve the Immortal Seed, the Feng Family not only dispatched four Life Talisman Realm elders but also called upon Feng Jiuzhang, Feng Ziang, and Feng Ling.

The group of seven traveled far into the great desert and fought a fierce battle with experts from the Flame God Palace, finally succeeding in snatching the Immortal Seed and bringing him back to the Abyssal Marsh.

But the matter was not over.

The desert Oasis occupied by the Haihan Feng Family, however, was seized by the Flame God Palace. The entire Haihan Feng Family fell into their hands.

Beneath the Haihan Feng Family’s Ancestral Land, Cultivators from the Flame God Palace discovered the ruins of an ancient sect.

—A True Flame Spirit Pool!

It was speculated that the reason the Haihan Feng Family had produced a child with the Celestial Fire Body was inextricably linked to this True Flame Spirit Pool.

This True Flame Spirit Pool had been buried underground for over ten thousand years. The ancient pool contained three types of True Fire—Pure Yang, Qian Flame, and Bingling—which could be called worldly treasures.

One must understand, finding even one of these three types of True Fire would be a supreme treasure for anyone who practices a Fire Element Technique.

Let alone all three gathered in one place.

If combined with a Flame God Palace Secret Technique, it could be used to cultivate a limitless supply of True Fire.

Each type of True Fire could greatly enhance the power of a Flame God Palace Cultivator’s Divine Techniques and was crucial for mastering the techniques recorded in the *Xuan Fire Record*.

Feng Ling and the others had also discovered the ruins at the time, but unfortunately, they were unable to defend it.

The Flame God Palace had dispatched three Profound Elders in total. Against the three of them working together, Feng Jiuzhang and Feng Ziang barely managed to avoid defeat, while Feng Ling was far outmatched by her opponent.

The other Feng Family elders fared even worse.

In the end, they could only retreat to the Abyssal Marsh with the Immortal Seed.

Fang Cheng frowned. "Cultivators from the Flame God Palace have always been arrogant and domineering. Since they couldn’t get the Immortal Seed, they just seized the True Flame Spirit Pool instead. How infuriating."

However, the Divine Techniques of the Flame God Palace were indeed formidable. Within Yun Country, apart from the Yinluo Sect and Taihao Mountain, no other power could possibly contend with them.

Divine Pillar Mountain might be able to put up a slight resistance, but the great families on the mountain were too loosely organized and lacked cohesion. As for the lineage of the Immortal City’s City Lord, their foundation was insufficient...

Recalling the experience, Feng Ling said, "The Yinluo Sect and the Flame God Palace have been enemies for many years. The Feng Family has already reported this matter to the Sect Leader. I expect it won’t be long before the sect takes action. When that happens, a battle with the Flame God Palace will be inevitable."

The True Flame Spirit Pool was a matter of great importance, especially for the Flame God Palace Cultivators who practiced the *Xuan Fire Record*!

The Yinluo Sect would never hand such a precious place over to its rival.

And by the same token, the Flame God Palace would surely not give it up easily.

Fang Cheng pondered for a moment. "If we want to reclaim that Oasis, we’ll probably have to send a Peak Master."

Feng Ling looked at him with her beautiful eyes, her expression a little strange. "I heard that there’s a high probability they will ask the Demon Lion Peak Master to personally go and reclaim the lost territory."

"Did Third Senior Brother tell you that?" Fang Cheng was very surprised.

Apart from the few months Sun Fuguo had personally taught him when he first became a disciple, his master had been in seclusion ever since and had not seen anyone.

’To think he’s finally coming out of seclusion this time.’

Feng Ling nodded and said softly, "You’ll probably have to go as well, so you should prepare for it."

Just as she finished speaking, Wan’Er had already prepared a sumptuous feast of Spiritual Cuisine, with several kinds of fruits and fine wine laid out on the table, their aroma filling the air.

"My lady, Young Master Fang, please enjoy your meal." Wan’Er came over with a smile to invite them.

Fang Cheng stood up and lamented, "It’s just as my Eldest Senior Sister said. These are truly eventful times."

He and Feng Ling went to the table, chatting idly over wine and savoring Wan’Er’s cooking, which was indeed delicious.

Before they knew it, the sky outside had grown dark.

After many rounds of drinks, both were slightly tipsy.

Feng Ling’s beautiful eyes were clear, the whites and blacks distinct, and held a hidden trace of charm as she spoke. "Fellow Daoist Fang, why don’t you stay here tonight? I trust Sister Yan won’t mind, will she?"

As her cousin, Ye Yan was still unaware of the affair between the two of them.

Fang Cheng looked at Feng Ling’s fair and delicate, oval-shaped face. Amidst her cold beauty, there was a hint of slyness and humor, as if she were teasing him.

He smiled freely. "I’m helping you refine your Heart Demon. Yan’Er won’t hold it against me."

It was just that the positions he used to refine her Heart Demon—such as belly to butt, belly to belly, face to belly... were not things one could speak of to others.
