Chapter 150
Behind The Spotlight Chapter 150
"Cut! Good job, guys! Axel, rest for half an hour. Your stunt double will take care of this scene."
The director gave him a thumbs-up after being satisfied with the footage, his voice echoing across the set through the megaphone. They had just filmed a scene where Axel had to run 200 meters while chasing an escaping opponent.
His breath was still ragged, beads of sweat rolling down his temple.
"Alright."
Axel wiped his sweat, his chest rising and falling. His personal assistant handed him cold, refreshing water to soothe his throat, and Axel thanked him.
As of March, Axel had been filming The Born Identity for three months, a film based on a hit novel from the 80s. Before post-production began, Axel trained extensively for his role, and it was tiring. But because of his experience as a retired soldier, he didn't have any problems with the intense training. The drills, gun handling, and hand-to-hand combat reminded him of his military days, both thrilling and haunting. He even remembered his old days as a soldier... even the time when he got shot.
Anyway, the director of The Born Identity was satisfied with his performance. He said that Axel was adapting to his role well. Even his portrayal of an amnesiac man convinced the director. Axel had managed to show confusion and determination so naturally that the crew often forgot he was acting.
They only cast Axel because of his height and demeanor, which matched the actor they were looking for. But they didn't have many expectations of him in heavy scenes. Most thought he was just another comedy actor, yet his intensity proved them wrong.
