Chapter 424: Going to the UK
"Yes, I also want Bald Qiang and his mate to find a suitable owner," Shen Yibin said with a smile. "Ever since you first came to the shop, I’ve seen how you care for them. It’s safe to say your care has been meticulous. Not only do you play with them, but you’ve also spent so much money preparing to build them a house. Your wife and child seem to really like these two as well. I’d have no worries at all entrusting them to you." The housing requirements for a pair like Bald Qiang and his mate were something an ordinary person truly couldn’t manage; only someone as well-off as Wen Yuan could do it.
"You can rest easy. If you sell them to me, I’ll absolutely take great care of them," Wen Yuan quickly assured him. "Besides, we’ll be neighbors from now on. If I didn’t take good care of them, you’d be able to see it. And beavers are a Class I protected species in this country. If I treated them poorly, the police would come looking for me."
"It’s not just a matter of them being a Class I protected species. These two were also a gift to me from Princess Sylvie of Sokovia. If any sort of accident were to happen, the Sokovian embassy would lodge a formal protest," Shen Yibin added as another warning. As soon as he said it, he felt a bit awkward. ’Am I trying to build myself up by using foreign connections?’
"Don’t you worry. I’ll be too busy doting on these two to even think about neglecting them." Wen Yuan wasn’t offended by Shen Yibin’s words. ’He’s just showing concern for Bald Qiang and his mate, right?’ "By the way, how much for the pair? Just name a price, and I’ll go get the funds ready?" Wen Yuan figured that since they were a Class I protected species, the price definitely wouldn’t be cheap. Even with his wealth, he’d probably have to work to raise the funds. He had already spent a significant portion of his savings buying the land and building the house. ’Sigh, looks like I’d better hurry up and earn some more money! Otherwise, I won’t even be able to afford to feed these two little guys.’
"Don’t worry, I won’t charge an exorbitant price. With your resources, you have nothing to worry about." Shen Yibin had already inquired about the price at the Future Pet Shop. Bald Qiang’s value was only slightly higher than Xiaoliu’s, which was practically nothing to a local tycoon like Wen Yuan. ’As for Gao Lujie, she’s not from the Future Pet Shop, so I’ll just give her to him as a gift.’
"I’ll sell them to you when I get back from Europe. In the meantime, you can keep working with them on the dam and the house!" The two-month deadline wasn’t up yet, and Shen Yibin had no intention of giving the Future Pet Shop a break on the timing. ’When I get back from Europe, there will still be some time before *Panda Hero*’s official premiere. It’ll be the perfect opportunity to find my next pet.’
"No problem. You can go without any worries. I’ll help you look after these two little ones, and if anything comes up at the shop, I can help out there too," Wen Yuan nodded again and again. Until his estate was built, Bald Qiang and Gao Lujie would have to stay at Shen Yibin’s place, so he was happy to lend a hand at the pet shop.
"Alright, then I’ll have to trouble you." This trip involved visiting several countries and would be much longer than his trips to Japan and the United States. Shen Yibin wasn’t entirely comfortable leaving just four girls to mind the shop. Having someone with Wen Yuan’s worldly experience around would give him some peace of mind. "If you run into a problem you can’t solve and can’t reach me, just call Xu Ye or Director Qin. You’ve met them both, so they’re familiar faces. Don’t feel awkward about reaching out."
Shen Yibin had finally relented, which completely set Wen Yuan’s mind at ease. He was so overjoyed that he lost all interest in studying the beavers’ architectural talents. He brought Bald Qiang and Gao Lujie back to Shen Yibin’s car, and they returned to the shop. Then he ordered a feast from a restaurant and threw a grand celebration for everyone, ultimately drinking himself into a stupor. If his wife hadn’t dragged him home, there’s no telling what kind of fool he might have made of himself.
Shen Yibin, however, was fine. He returned to his room, packed his bags, and boarded a plane to Shanghai the next morning with Hah’Er and Maphario. From there, they would catch a connecting flight to London. Director Kong and the others were scheduled to arrive before him.
This time, Shen Yibin and Hah’Er were on a regular commercial flight. The moment they boarded, Hah’Er caused a minor commotion. The foreigners on the plane had stars in their eyes when they saw him. After getting Shen Yibin’s permission, they all rushed forward to take photos with Hah’Er for posterity, managing to share the pictures on their social media accounts just before the plane took off.
During the flight, the crew assigned a dedicated flight attendant to provide Hah’Er with meticulous care, to the point that it even delayed service for the other passengers. Had it been anyone else, the passengers would have likely protested by now, but no one had the slightest complaint when it came to Hah’Er. There was nothing to be done; after all, cuteness is justice.
The journey was incredibly long. Hah’Er and Shen Yibin napped for a while on the plane and watched several movies on a tablet before they finally landed at London’s Heathrow Airport.
After the plane landed smoothly, even though they were all exhausted, the passengers in the cabin remained in their seats, insisting that Shen Yibin and Hah’Er deplane first. Shen Yibin had no choice but to thank them repeatedly for their kindness. Once outside, he collected his luggage and made his way to the arrivals gate, only to see that countless British panda fans were holding up *Panda Hero* posters, completely blocking the exit.
’What’s going on? Didn’t Director Kong say this part of the trip wasn’t going to be announced publicly? Where did all these people come from? He even made special preparations after what happened in Los Angeles, but it looks like those preparations didn’t do any good.’
"Bin, over here!" Just as Shen Yibin was wondering how he was going to get out, Director Kong popped his head out from the side. With a large team of security guards, he finally managed to extract Shen Yibin from the crowd. Once in the car, he wiped the sweat from his brow and said, "Sigh, this wasn’t supposed to happen. Who would’ve thought a passenger on your flight would post photos of Hah’Er on social media? The fans figured out your flight details from the post, and they all swarmed the airport."
’Er, so it was my fault for letting them take pictures during boarding. I can’t do something so thoughtless again.’ Shen Yibin felt a cold sweat. ’So I brought this all on myself.’
"Let’s head back to the hotel and get some rest for now. We need to get over this jet lag. We’ll start the promotional events tomorrow," Director Kong said, slightly apologetic. "I’m afraid Hah’Er is in for some hard work!"
The promotional schedule in London was originally planned for two days, but an unexpected change occurred. Shen Yibin and Hah’Er had to extend their stay in London by a day because they received an invitation from the British Royal Family. Her Majesty the Queen, famous for her extraordinarily long reign, wished to grant Hah’Er an audience at the Royal Palace.
’Sigh, fine, we’ll go. It’s not like this is our first time visiting a royal palace, anyway!’
