Lance was left somewhat dazed by this sudden rough action.
He looked at Nia in surprise, only to meet a pair of eyes brimming with aggrieved tears.
Nia simply raised her head slightly and stared at him stubbornly, her eye rims red.
At this moment, she looked exactly like a little animal that had suffered tremendous grievances outside yet had nowhere to vent them.
“I rushed all the way here early this morning without even bothering to change clothes…”
The girl’s voice carried a heart-wrenching bitterness.
That choked tone finally made the slow-witted Lance realize the seriousness of the situation.
“My head was completely filled with whether or not you were hurt. The whole way here, I was terrified and worried.”
