Chapter 200 200: Helpless Crone
"You?! Who are you?!" The Crone's lips trembled.
Carter didn't answer. He looked down at her. One simple glance and he knew that she was only a Peak Elite.
Satan Skin was a 3 STAR Elite. Technically speaking, Satan was weaker than the Crone. But this skin had too many overpower aspects that level alone couldn't measure.
Carter wagged his finger gently. Crone's Shadow reached up and strangled her.
The Crone couldn't even use her magic to resist. It had been a long time since she felt this helpless against someone else before. She was like a child again.
"How ugly. What happened to you?"
Carter crossed his arms, rubbed his chin, and walked around the Crone like a fashion designer assessing a model. He shook his head repeatedly to announce his disapproval.
"I..." The Crone couldn't speak.
Carter snapped his finger and let her go.
Immediately, the Crone disappeared from sight. She didn't teleport. She became invisible. Even her shadow turned invisible.
The Crone threw a totem at Carter. It became visible in mid-air.
The totem exploded into a cloud of toxic gas. Carter didn't even react. After all, he had Apothecary Stomach.
More shadows stood up around Carter. This wasn't his type of shadow but only a hex spell created by a witch.
The shadows jumped at Carter but froze mid-way.
"Using my own power against me? How foolish of you." Carter still had that lingering smile on his face.
He snapped his finger again.
The Crone fell on the floor. She was at the entrance and was trying to run away. Her entire body blurred out like flickering images.
The Crone grabbed her head and writhed in pain.
"Please! Please make it stop!"
Her hex spell deactivated and the shadows disappeared.
Carter didn't release her this time. He approached the Crone and looked at her.
A disgusting sight. Small, skinny to the bones, green sickly skin. His shadow enveloped the Crone completely, turning her body slowly to black.
She couldn't move anymore and she felt her consciousness slowly shutting down.
"No... Please..." The Crone begged.
Carter kept his smile. A smile that made the Crone's entire body trembled.
The shadow continued to cover her entirely. It reached to her mouth and went inside her throat. Then it cover her eyes and ears, turning her completely into a black humanoid creature.
The Crone fainted and Carter retreated his shadow.
"Your soul is mine." Carter smirked.
His fingers gently moved as the Crone's Shadow detached from her and went into his mouth.

'Delicious soul...' Carter licked his lips.
He then squatted down and examined the Crone. "Hmmm... This ugly witch might be useful. But I need to examine her."
[URSULA LEBEAU EQUIPPED]
The goat-horned man disappeared and in his place, the Goth witch in the beautiful black dress returned.
Carter used his Runic Language Ability to study the Crone. Soon, he had found what was wrong with her.
The Crone is on the same path as Ursula, the path to find Wicked Spiritualization. But she didn't have Wicked Spiritualization.
So instead of controlling Wicked Magic, it ate into her body and her soul. Slowly turning her into this awful, smelly, and ugly Crone.
'I have already consumed her soul... But there is a potential for a scene here. Satan shall strike again!'
Carter quickly thought up what he might say when the Crone woke up.
[SATAN EQUIPPED]
He returned as the devil and released her soul back to her. It was still technically his, he just lent it to her.
The Crone dreamed for the first time since many years. She saw herself back when she was the helpless daughter of a farmer. She was as ugly and as smelly as of now and had no magic up her sleeves.
Her entire purpose was to feed the pigs on time and made sure the wolves didn't catch them.
While she was tending the pigs, a woman in the dark hood stood on the other side of the fences looking at the Crone.
"What's your name?" The hooded woman asked.
"Mara..." The Crone answered.
"What an ugly name. Suitable for the kind of you." The hooded woman said.
Mara lowered her head in shame. She teared up a little and didn't object it.
Her father. A heartless old farmer with a beer belly came out of the house.
"What do you want, woman?! Stop bothering my pig feeder!" The farmer shouted.
"Your daughter. I want her." The hooded woman said.
The farmer snorted. He looked back at the ugly Crone and carefully assessed her worth.
"Make it four pounds and she is yours."
"Four pounds it is."
"No, father! Please! I don't want to leave!" Mara shouted and cried.
But she left anyway. Her life, whether it went bad or good was a question. Mara thought it was quite good. She outlived many of her sisters and her old coven. She was the powerful Forest Crone of the Dark Coven.
And yet, she is still sad.
The Crone woke up from her dream. She was still at the place she had fallen down.
The clink of a tea cup touching the wooden table echoed. The Crone looked up to see the man from before was gracefully drinking her tea.
"Stand, Mara." The man said.
Her heart throbbed. But she did as he said. She knew now they were very different. So different that he could kill her at any times he liked.
The Crone stood obediently. She wondered why he knew her true name. She wouldn't question that if she knew her soul was no longer his.
"Do you want to get rid of your accursed deformity, little witch?"
The Crone skipped a breath. She opened her mouth but stopped herself.
'There must be a price.' She thought to herself.
"Of course there is a price, little witch." The man answered as though he could read her mind.
He could.
He placed a piece of paper and a pen on the table.
"Sell your soul to me and you will never have to look at the ugly sight that is yourself again."
The man wagged his finger. The wooden chair shot forward, letting Mara fall onto it, and ran toward the table, right where the paper and pen were.
"What do you say, little witch?"
