Transmigrated To A Beastworld As The Lazy Wife Of The Fox Lord

Chapter 371: The story of her grandparents...2

Sienna sighed again. Of course they had been caught. If anyone stole over 100 million from her, she would bite them and not let go.

Arnie continued her story, "I was waiting for them, with a private airship. I saw them get captured. They had promised me ten million, and I was unwilling to let a cooked duck fly away just like that. I got a job on the main Stormfeather estate, in the stables. When I was not working, I was spying--looking for their whereabouts.

That is how I found out about the rebellion. Your grandfather Bib had been put to work as a hacker for the rebellion movement. He built their networks, erased their trails, hid codes in music, and laundered their money."

"That’s how I came across them." Grace butted in for a moment.

Arnie shrugged. "Actually, you tracked them through me." She clarified and looked at Sienna. "Lord Grace kept me inside the Stormfeathers as a double agent. The information I acquired helped him get the leverage necessary to marry his daughter into the royal family."

"Arnie, she doesn’t need to know that." Grace hissed.

Arnie laughed softly. "Forgetting that part, your father recognized me at one of their gatherings and asked for my help. He wanted to escape. Every week, he was allowed to meet his wife once for a supervised drive and dinner date. I was the one who helped them fake their deaths. The car crash was staged. The autopsies were faked, the burned bodies found at the scene were not theirs. We all thought they would just slip away but the plan failed. Pip and Bib were captured again and temporarily held in a supermarket owned by the Stormfeathers. It so happened that there was an enforcer led raid on the supermarket that same day which ended in an explosion."

Sienna’s eyes widened.

Arnie’s eyes gleamed. "The royals had discovered that this was one of the businesses that funded rebel activity. They raided it. There was a struggle, a cashier who believed in the cause activated the self destruction button. Pip and Bib were inside but they survived by hiding in the tunnel at the very last minute. The blast crippled his hands to an untreatable extent. He could no longer type, no longer hack. So he suggested they bring in his daughter."

Sienna’s stomach twisted. "My mother."

"Yes," Arnie said. "But she was being watched by the Drax syndicate. She could only be pulled in slowly. So they sent your father to seduce her, to convince her to join. He was supposed to draw her into the rebellion, to make her their new hacker. Her father had taught her everything she knew, after all. She had practically proven herself by hacking into and stealing those cars."

Sienna groaned. If her blood did not feel dirty before, it certainly felt it now. This body was the product of a scheme!

"Paris put years into this game. But before he could draw her into the rebellion, the movement was completely overthrown. The royals crushed it. Leaders were captured, executed or scattered. The Stormfeathers lost more than half of their wealth. Their patriarch and some of his sons were imprisoned. The ones who tried to escape where killed on sight.

Your father, who was already in love with another woman from his tribe, moved on. He used the evidence Pip gave him, a list of names, secret accounts and codes to buy himself a safe life. He buried the past, but sadly, it came back and killed him anyway."

Sienna shifted her body uneasily. "And now? Where are Pip and Bib?"

"They escaped to St. Vitts and changed their identities." Arnie laughed. "Those two always find a way to survive. They stole money from one of the accounts the royals did not know about, opened up a casino and lived happily. But under the radar, of course."

Arnie rose, her eyes narrowing. "Unfortunately for everyone, the Stormfeathers never forgot. They are rebuilding. For five years, they have stirred the waves. Quietly, carefully. Your grandfather was wise enough not to ever attempt to heal his hands. When they found him, he was as useless as he had been when he last worked for them. I guess it was his contingency plan.

But the old man is ruthless. He mentioned your mother again, and now, the Stormfeathers are coming for her. Whether she goes willingly or not, they are determined to get their hands on her."

Sienna’s hand trembled. No wonder Grace had suggested her mother marry his son. No wonder he had insisted that she listen to Arnie’s story about her maternal grandparents. He had been right to tell her that she would need him for what was coming.

This would be the Stormfeather’s last stand. They were probably going to go all out, no matter what it took.

She narrowed her eyes at Arnie and asked, "Why tell me this?"

Arnie’s voice softened. "Grace is my uncle....of sorts. We are not blood related or anything. Anyway, he told me last month that you would soon be family. He was worried that you would not believe him because you always think he has an angle." She raised a brow, eyes lighting up for a moment. "Which he does. He always has an angle, and in this case, he aims to tie your families together. This was the same way he got one daughter into the royal family through marriage. By the time this is over, he will also be sending a granddaughter into the royal family in the same manner."

Sienna scoffed.

Grace shrugged. "Information is only good if it can be used to build you. Someday, you will run my information business, Sienna. This is something you should learn."

Sienna turned to Arnie, her heart pounding.

Arnie’s voice grew colder. "You should be careful, until this ugly business is over with. The Stormfeathers are not finished. Itai is in charge of the family now, and he is obsessed with the idea of being the next king. He believes your mother owes their family. They all do. The way they talk about her....it’s like she is their possession. If she refuses to join them, they will take her by force, even if it means taking you to force her hand."

Sienna scoffed. "They want to take me, then they are welcome. I will finish what the royals did not finish. I will wipe them all out, no trials needed."

Grace’s lips raised slightly. "And your grandparents?"

Arnie quickly stepped forward, her voice firm. "The Stormfeathers can’t send another Paris, but they can send your maternal grandparents. Don’t think for a second that they are victims. They played roles in the rebellion, making suggestions. Taking pay for some of the things they did. They helped built the rebel empire in the dark. Will you hand them off to the royals, or finish them off with the Stormfeathers?"
