Chapter 66: My pup
Seoha’s POV
Yuki returns to me with a sheepish smile on her face.
"Well...that was something" she says and I stuff my hands into my pocket, not knowing what to say, really...what am I supposed to say?
He slept with me last night, and my thighs still feel sore.
He held me in his lap, and I still feel his hand on my waist.
He kicked me out of his office and I still feel confused...
"It’s crazy that it almost seemed like he is falling for you" Yuki says with a small laugh, the words sting even though she means no harm, it feels like a backhanded compliment.
"Why can’t he fall for me?" I ask and Yuki looks at me with her brows pinched together.
"We’re talking about the same person...right?" she says, I don’t give her an answer and she shakes her head.
"He’s a good person, I swear my life on it, but he’s not good for love, I’ll advice you to just...move" she says and somewhere in my head, I am confident enough to yell: ’He’s my mate, how am I supposed to just move?’
But I don’t...I just convince myself that my feelings are coming to me because of the bond...
’All these emotions must be from having sex...right? It will go away soon’ I say to myself as I force myself to remember how evil he was to me.
How he talked down on me, how he pressed a gun against my back, how he blew smoke in my face.
Yes, Taesan-ssi is a bad person, and I’m here for Sooin only.
"I need to get Sooin from school" I whisper and Yuki nods, she doesn’t say anything else, it’s almost like she understands the crisis I’m in.
"Taesan-ssi said you can use the card to get whatever you and Sooin wants" the young woman says and gestures for me to go out of the secluded hall.
I take one last look at the shirt that attracted my attention.
’White suits you’
I blink twice to throw his voice out of my head, I have more things to worry about than an alpha that doesn’t care about me, I have my whole life...my inheritance and relatives to think of.
When we arrive at Sooin’s school, I draw a deep breath to prepare myself, I still remember what I experienced the last time...that male guard.
"Why are you hesitating?" Yuki asks and I shake my head before getting out of the car under her careful watch.
"I’ll be back in a few minutes" I mutter and leave for the school gate.
"Sooin, right?" the woman I met last time says and before I even nod, she runs into the school to get her, and the guard I met last time eyes me up.
"Are you poor? Why are you dressed like that?" he snickers and I ignore him like last time, and this time around, he pokes my shoulder.
"Don’t be cocky, bitch, you’re a poor unmarked man, with a pup, let alpha take care of you" he says, his finger digging into my shoulder as he pokes me again.
The sound of gun cocking makes him freeze mid-action and he looks over my shoulder.
At the look of terror on his face, I also look back to find Yuki kissing the tip on her silver gun with her hips cocked to the side.
"I’m not interrupting something, am I?" she asks and clicks on the safety of her gun.
The terrified looking guard gulps as he puts his hand down, "n-n-no, ma’am" he stutters and Yuki gives a big fake smile.
"Touch him again and your whole bloodline will team up to strangle you in hell, is that clear?" she asks and he nods thrice, eyes wide with fear and I sigh.
They are all like their boss.
Yuki, Junho and Taeho are the exact same people. Crazy.
The school gate opens and instead of the usual squeal, Sooin walks out holding her teacher’s hand with a lollipop in her mouth, she looks like she cried.
My omega growls protectively at the state of the pup, this is not how she left home today, I braided her hair carefully and her collar isn’t supposed to be that way.
’Someone hurt pup?’ my omega snarls.
Instinctively, I glare at the teacher as I open my arms to receive my pup, and she comes to me, immediately hiding her face in my stomach.
"What happened?" I ask in a tone that doesn’t sound like mine.
"Um...can Sooin be taken away?" she asks and my frown deepen, "whatever you have to say, say it here" Yuki says and the teacher looks at me with pleading eyes.
"Yuki...." I say and she growls once before taking Sooin’s hand, but the pup whimpers, not wanting to let go of me.
"Daddy" she whines.
"It’s okay, I’ll be back with you soon" I whisper to her and her bottom lips tremble, she doesn’t want to, but she lets go.
Once she’s gone, I fold my arms and wait for the teacher to say something, the woman sighs before speaking.
"Sooin is a very sensitive child, and- well...some other kid brought up the absence of her mother and Sooin got upset, it led to a fight" she says with a wince.
"How can two kids fight in your class, I worked as day care assistant and I’ve never been this careless" my omega says and my eyes flash bright blue.
"I’m really sorry, Sooin is really never troublesome, so we never put too much attention on her...please don’t let Mr. Kang get offended with us" she presses her palms together and I soften a bit.
"Please, take care of kids better...is the other pup okay?" I ask and she nods, keeping her head down and her hands in front of her.
I check in on the traumatized guard before returning to the car.
The moment I get in, Sooin climbs into my lap and holds on to me, she stays still in my arms.
"Sooin-ah...are you okay?" I ask and she sniffle, "you’re my daddy, no one else" the words are muffled and I don’t argue with her...maybe because I’m starting to believe it myself.
I called her my pup...I can’t leave.
We get home and she doesn’t speak, she just lets me wash her and change her clothes, clinging to me even when I feed her and when it’s time to sleep, we sleep in my room.
I hold her tightly and croon in her ear till we both fall asleep.
After an hour, the door opens and I hear a heavy sigh, the rustling of clothes, and the clanking noise of metal dropping to the floor.
Alpha is home.
I try to smell if he’s hurt, but I smell nothing but heaviness, like the after scent of a storm.
The bed dips as he climbs in, his front pressing into my back, his heavy hand holds both me and his daughter.
"Just tonight..." he says softly, and my body shivers as his warm breath hits the back of my neck.
"Just tonight, let me hold you like this" he says and I drift back to sleep.
