Leisurely Farm Life in Beast World

Chapter 1218 - 1217: A Beast with Severed Hands and Feet Leads a Charmed Life

Ayan nodded shyly, then began to portion out the prey he’d just dismantled to the tribe members in the cave. Afterward, he exchanged his share for the young female’s share, saying, "You eat this."

The meat in his hand was one of the best parts of the prey and had already been torn neatly into small pieces.

The young female accepted it with a shy smile and patted the beast skin mat beside her. "Sit down."

Once Ayan sat down, she handed the meat she had just received to him. "Here, this is mine."

Then she split the portion Ayan had just given her and shared some with him. "I can’t eat so much. You need to eat well since you’ll have to keep watch and patrol later. Go ahead."

The two, both barely into adulthood, were openly displaying affection, making others envious. Even the two females who had been bickering earlier were pulled apart by their respective orc partners.

But when they saw the orc they had their eyes on being taken by another young female, the two became visibly infuriated, their nostrils flaring in anger.

Still, the reality couldn’t be denied: that young female had no mate, and the tribe’s rules stated that mated females couldn’t compete with single ones. Besides, Ayan seemed genuinely fond of the young female.

This left them entirely without leverage in the situation.

Meanwhile, this little drama had caught the attention of every orc in the cave, their eyes lighting up with a rather exaggerated mixture of envy and resentment. Some even shot jealous glances at the nearby orcs with broken legs or arms.

"What good fortune those guys have!" someone muttered. There was talk that once the snow stopped, the Shaman would start treating them. If that happened, wouldn’t they essentially become orcs blessed by the favor of the females?

Of course, this depended on whether they could recover as well as Ayan had.

Honestly, some of them were tempted to break a leg or wound an arm just for the attention.

...

Early the next morning, Ji Nuan climbed out of bed. The snowstorm had stopped the night before, so today she planned to go to the Shaman’s cave and begin treating the Sahara Tribe’s orcs.

First, she needed to remove the brace on Ada’s leg.

As each wooden plank was taken off, Ada and Awa’s expressions grew more serious, their jaws tense and defined.

Ji Nuan carefully collected the cotton cloth. It was one of her most valuable supplies—there was no way she would throw it away. If boiled thoroughly several times in steaming water, it would still be usable. She couldn’t afford to waste anything under such circumstances.

Awa brought hot water and washed the herbs off Ada’s leg, exposing the orc’s skin beneath. The leg, which had once been badly deformed, had now regained its pre-injury appearance—straight and strong.

"Awa, hold your brother up and let him try walking," Ji Nuan suggested eagerly, curious to see if Ada’s leg was functional again.

If it seemed sufficiently healed, Ji Nuan planned to take him along to the main cave to show the orcs with bone injuries, giving them some hope for recovery.

Awa nodded enthusiastically and bent down to help Ada to his feet.

Ada, still unused to the sensation, felt a bit surreal. After nursing the injury for nearly a year, it was hard to believe the leg was almost healed.

Walking a few steps, supported by Awa, Ada noticed the absence of the familiar pain in his injured leg.

Seeing his slightly bewildered expression, Ji Nuan picked up a thin wooden stick and tapped his calf lightly. "Does it hurt?"

Ada nodded. "It feels... itchy."

Ji Nuan: "..." So, could she justifiably say orcs have ridiculously thick skin?

Under Awa’s support, Ada walked a few laps around. Everything seemed normal.

Ji Nuan tossed the wooden stick down. "Do you feel any discomfort at all?"
