Chapter 1174 - 1173: The Unlovable Orc
No wonder everyone likes the little females, they’re so adorable.
But look at Harry, with his stiff expression—Orcs are just not cute.
The playful old Shaman instantly developed a fondness for Ji Nuan, while Harry on the side was selectively ignored by the old Shaman.
Please, the two Shamans, come into the Tribe. It’s too hot out here.
The sun slowly rose, and the desert’s temperature began climbing once again. If they stayed outside any longer, Ji Nuan and Harry were likely to be sunburned.
Ji Nuan smiled warmly and nodded: "Of course, that would be wonderful. We originally came here because we have something we’d like to ask your Tribe for help with."
The old Shaman and the Clan Leader laughed boisterously: "The two Shamans visiting our Tribe is a blessing granted by Lord Beast God. If you need any assistance, just feel free to say so."
Passing through the stone gate that had made Ji Nuan a bit uneasy, they followed the old Shaman and the Clan Leader into the Sahara Tribe.
To Ji Nuan’s surprise, the Shahe Tribe’s settlement was built into a cliffside.
However, it was clear that earlier, when outside the Tribe, they hadn’t even noticed the existence of this cliff.
The orcs of the Sahara Tribe had carved numerous caves into the massive rock face for living spaces, and these caves were all separated, suggesting their Tribe did not lead a communal lifestyle.
The old Shaman and Clan Leader led Ji Nuan and her companions into the largest cave in the middle of the mountain wall. As soon as they entered, the herb-filled scent in the air made Ji Nuan realize this must be the old Shaman’s dwelling.
Around the cave were numerous small to large recesses, each filled with various herbs. Most of them were unfamiliar to Ji Nuan, likely unique to this desert environment.
In the center of the cave was a giant Beast Skin mat large enough for two orcs to lie down on. Upon closer inspection, it was clearly stitched together with several pieces of Beast Skin, though the stitching was rough.
The old Shaman invited them to sit on the Beast Skin mat in the center. The Clan Leader sat down very cautiously.
It was plain to see that the old Shaman highly valued this Beast Skin mat.
A young orc entered the cave from outside, carrying a large leaf filled with several types of fruit in his hands.
He placed it on the ground near the Beast Skin mat and then left.
The old Shaman picked up three fruits and handed them to Ji Nuan, Xiu Yan, and Harry, then took a red fruit for himself, rubbed it a little, and happily took a bite.
Having just returned to the Tribe, he hadn’t had anything to drink yet and was feeling quite thirsty.
"I wonder, what do the two Shamans need us to do?" The Clan Leader, rather than eating the fruit, looked seriously at the two Shamans who had traveled from afar.
Ji Nuan held the slightly cool fruit in her hand, her expression serious: "The cold season is fast approaching. We may need to spend it here, so we’d like to ask if your Tribe has any place where we could stay during the cold season."
The old Shaman and the Clan Leader exchanged a glance, a hint of joy flashing in their eyes. But soon after, the old Shaman seemed to think of another matter: "I wonder how many Tribe members the two Shamans brought with you this time?"
Due to the vital role Shamans play in a Tribe, traveling Shamans are often accompanied by many Guardian Orcs unless there is a powerful evolved orc protector. Only then might the number of accompanying orcs be reduced.
