Leisurely Farm Life in Beast World

Chapter 1137 - 1136: So Easy

Seeing that she didn’t want to talk about it, Harry stopped asking and instead started to closely observe the wild beast beneath him.

With a tall stature and strong limbs, moving across this golden land was as easy for them as running through the forest.

They were seemingly born to survive here. So, were these big guys tamed by Shaman Ji Nuan and the rest only after arriving here?

If Ji Nuan knew what he was thinking, she would shake her head. It wasn’t taming—it was attracting them with delicious food.

Once the only female in the group was lured, would the several males still be a problem?

Ji Nuan would say it’s so easy.

Swaying along the way, though these few camels weren’t very fast, their leisurely pace actually covered a lot more ground than if they had walked.

Ji Nuan distributed a few of her self-made, somewhat shabby-looking hats to Harry and his beasts—one for each of the four beasts.

Touching her nose, she thought that although they weren’t very good-looking, they were fine as long as they could provide shade.

At noon, their lunch was also dealt with on the backs of the camels, giving each beast a piece of meat and two slightly wilted fruits.

Maomao and its mates each received a few cacti, the kind with richer juices that Ji Nuan and the rest had cut down before for their own food.

Maomao and its mates ate with such relish, occasionally letting out joyful cries.

In the drowsy afternoon, Xiu Yan sat as solid as a rock on Damao’s back, learning to recognize characters, while Ji Nuan started to doze off.

Suddenly, it felt like something tugged at her sleeve. Ji Nuan instantly woke up from her drowsiness.

It was Maomao. The creature was holding onto her sleeve with its mouth. Seeing that she woke up and looked at it, Maomao made a happy noise and then turned its head to look forward.

Ji Nuan also looked up and her eyes immediately sparkled with excitement. Not far ahead, at the foot of a sand dune, there thrived a patch of greenery, standing tall like a group of warriors clad in hard, spiny armor.

Ji Nuan looked at Xiu Yan, about to say something, but noticed that the orc had already put the beast skin in Damao’s side basket.

And was now looking toward the dune with cacti present.

"Brother Xiu Yan, this time there are a lot more prickly fruits than we found last time. It’s perfect for replenishing our water and food supplies."

Ji Nuan said excitedly.

But Xiu Yan’s ink-dark eyebrows slowly knitted together, and his expression became more and more serious: "Nuannuan, go to the back."

Ji Nuan’s excitement stalled, and she too noticed something was off.

Last time when they came across cacti, Maomao and its mates had already scooted over to feast happily.

But today, they were only nervously pacing in place, not going straight to it, which clearly indicated they were wary of something.

Ji Nuan’s heart, burning with cactus-thirst, suddenly cooled down.

"What’s over there?" Ji Nuan looked that way too, but her eyes, after all, weren’t as sharp as Xiu Yan’s, and she couldn’t see anything.

Xiu Yan pursed his lips, his eyebrows growing even tighter: "There’s something underground, so you can’t see it."

By then, seeing them halt and waiting without any commands for a while, Harry came over a bit abruptly on his camel: "Shaman Ji Nuan, has something happened? Do you need us to take action?"

Ji Nuan shook her head: "Everyone come over, let’s discuss together what to do about this situation."
