Chapter 1120 - 1119: The Docile Big Fellow
The camel gazed at her with its big watery eyes for a long time before nonchalantly turning away to continue its diligent chewing.
Ji Nuan’s lips curved into a wide smile as she climbed atop a dead tree stump.
That’s right, it feels just like this, except the camels she rode in China weren’t this tall, almost scaring the beast within her.
After getting used to it for a while, Ji Nuan began to stroke its fur, armed today with a large wooden-toothed comb that felt oh so comfortable against its hide.
The camel seemed to enjoy it immensely, lowing several times with a voice full of gentleness and joy.
A little later, Ji Nuan paused her grooming and patted the big guy’s side.
The camel turned its head, looking at her with those large watery eyes surrounded by long lashes.
Ji Nuan gently nudged its belly with her legs, and the camel, as if startled, stood up abruptly.
Gripping its hump tightly, Ji Nuan hastily resumed combing its hair. The naturally gentle creature, sensing no malice from Ji Nuan, soon settled down again.
Ji Nuan took out half of a crispy sweet fruit from her Beast Skin pouch and offered it to the camel, which turned its head to snatch the half-fruit from her hand, then contentedly began to chew.
Wiping the sweat off her forehead, Ji Nuan couldn’t help but feel it was quite risky, after all, these weren’t the same camels she had tamed before.
But the camels here should be more gentle than the ones she encountered in China.
She gently nudged the camel’s belly again. The creature gave her a look, its big eyes seemingly filled with confusion - "I’m already standing up, why are you still kicking me?"
Seeing it turn around, Ji Nuan pointed towards the tent. The camel then shook its head and started walking in that direction, heading towards the edge of the camp area, when Ji Nuan tapped its hump again.
The camel stopped and turned its head to look at Ji Nuan, who chuckled and tossed it a whole crispy sweet fruit as a reward.
The camel seemed quite pleased as it turned away again.
Ji Nuan patted its left side, and, surprisingly cooperative, the camel turned around. Then when Ji Nuan nudged its belly once more, the big guy seemed to get the hint.
It proceeded to walk straight ahead on its own.
For the rest of the session, the camel would turn whichever way Ji Nuan tapped its body.
When she patted the top of its hump, it obediently lay down.
By the end of this training session, more than half of the crispy sweet fruits from Ji Nuan’s Beast Skin pouch were gone.
But the results of the training were remarkable.
At least, this big fellow was now able to understand her commands.
Hooray for big victories!
When our Xiu Yan returned and saw Ji Nuan leisurely strolling atop this massive beast in the clearing, almost dropping his mountainous haul of fruits and game, he was taken aback.
So, he had just gone out for some food, what exactly happened in his absence?
Ji Nuan, seeing him return, waved happily from the camel’s back, then signaled the big beast to kneel down.
The camel, having tasted the sweetness of rewards, obediently waited for her to descend and throw it another half of a crispy sweet fruit.
Then it munched away, carefree again.
Ji Nuan bounced cheerfully over to Xiu Yan, "How was that? I gave it special training today, and now it completely understands me."
The Orc frowned slightly: "That’s too dangerous."
Ji Nuan knew he was genuinely worried about her, and with a chuckle, she snuggled up to him, hugging his arm and cooing, "Brother Xiu Yan, don’t be mad. I won’t dare do it again next time."
