Chapter 1115 - 1114: Hat
Dismissing two hideously ugly hats to the side, Ji Nuan started working again, with each beast performing their own tasks in perfect harmony.
But for an Orc with sharp claws, making segmented tree pots was still quite easy, and soon, Xiu Yan had piled up a small mountain of them.
However, Ji Nuan had only managed to weave three passable hats so far.
This thing is much harder to make than a carrying basket.
Suddenly, Ji Nuan’s eyes lit up at the sight of the segmented tree strips lying around, and she started working on something as she sat on a ruined hat.
After finishing the last segmented tree pot, Xiu Yan turned to look at his companion and couldn’t help but twitch the corners of his mouth.
If he wasn’t mistaken, Nuannuan had a pile of what should be hats at her feet.
Although they weren’t made from Beast Skin, they seemed to be hats alright.
But... they were undeniably ugly.
Stringing together the segmented tree pots with vines, he hung them on the basket he carried on his back.
Then he approached Ji Nuan: "Are you weaving mats?"
It seemed his little companion also realized she had no talent for hat-making and had given up, instead using the tree strips to weave mats.
Xiu Yan also sat down, took a segmented tree strip prepared by Ji Nuan, split it into straws like the ones in her hands, and started trying to weave a hat.
It must be said, compared to us who might understand at first glance but mess up upon trying, Xiu Yan was simply a genius.
Although his first hat was woven so badly that Ji Nuan found some consolation that she wasn’t the only one, the second one and the others that followed darkened her little face.
Why did it seem like Xiu Yan had hands while she only had feet?
You guessed it, kid—this isn’t just an illusion.
Out of envy for the Orc’s superb skills, Ji Nuan decisively laid down the segmented tree mat she had just finished under a large tree and started to slack off.
Xiu Yan simply lifted his profound eyes to glance at her, amused by her uncharacteristic laziness, unlike her usual demeanor in the Tribe, and then continued with his work.
It was only after weaving ten hats that Ji Nuan finally attached the Beast Skin ropes she had cut in a rare bout of industriousness to the hats, so when worn, they could be tied with the ropes to prevent falling off.
"Let’s not fill the segmented tree pots with water yet. We’ll talk about it when we reach the foot of the mountain; otherwise, it’ll be too heavy."
Ji Nuan nodded, feeling sleepy perhaps due to lying under the tree earlier.
She yawned repeatedly, with tears glistening at the corners of her eyes.
Xiu Yan saw her weary appearance and his eyes flickered for a moment.
Soon after, a silver-white Wolf Beast appeared beside the segmented tree forest.
Ji Nuan secured the large basket on Xiu Yan’s back before straddling it.
Burying herself in the soft fur of the Orc, comforted by the fluffy softness, Ji Nuan felt so blissfully content she could faint.
"You rest for a while; I’ll handle the rest of the journey," said the Orc, whose voice, after transforming into a beast, seemed even deeper and more magnetic. Ji Nuan blissfully squinted her eyes and nodded obediently, "Alright, I’ll leave the journey to you."
