Ji Nuan couldn’t help noticing his mockery, and pouted in frustration.

Yet, as they drew closer to the mountain peak, she couldn’t help feeling a trace of joy amidst her complex emotions.

Although they dallied a bit, they still arrived at the mountaintop by nightfall, despite the darkness that had already enveloped the sky.

After setting up their small camp and having their dinner, they retreated into their tent and went to sleep.

Ji Nuan scattered some Tasteless Grass around the area to eliminate their scent.

On the outermost circle, she sprinkled Sharp Tooth Grass powder. Both beasts were tired from the day’s travel, so Ji Nuan did not want Xiu Yan to stay alert on guard duty. This way, they could both rest assuredly through the night.

Therefore, offending a Shaman isn’t always a wise decision.

Ji Nuan, looking at the wild beasts lying outside the tent, stood with her hands on her hips, quite proud of herself.

Seeing the ferocity in the beasts’ eyes slowly turn to confusion before they reluctantly closed them was quite a sight.

As for the remaining herbivorous beasts, Xiu Yan tightly bound them with vines.

They prepared one Humming Beast for their meal, only eating half and preserving the rest with salt, hanging it at the entrance of their tent.

"Do you think there’s an ocean on the land behind this mountain?"

The Orc responded while handing her a freshly cleaned fruit, "Let’s go see for ourselves."

"I just picked these from the surrounding trees. They are very tasty and not sour at all."

Ji Nuan took the fruit and took a bite, her face lighting up as sweet juice flowed into her mouth, the taste absolutely delightful.

"While I was picking fruit, I found traces of Orc living in the area."

Ji Nuan was startled: "You mean there is a Tribe on this mountain?"

Xiu Yan’s brows furrowed slightly: "There were leftover fruit pits and wild beast innards and bones in the surrounding forest, all buried in the ground.

If it were wild beasts hunting, they would not bother to bury the innards. Only Orcs living here, who fear the blood scent of innards might attract wild beasts, would do such a thing.

But what I’m not sure of is whether these Orcs have been living here all along or, like us, are just passing through."

Ji Nuan nodded: "Indeed, we haven’t come across a single Orc on our way up the mountain. If there was an Orc Tribe here, they wouldn’t simply watch strangers trespass on their territory without any reaction."

Xiu Yan stood up, reaching out his distinctly jointed long hands towards Ji Nuan: "It’s enough to know that there are Orc here. We’ll just need to be more cautious from now on.
