Leisurely Farm Life in Beast World

Chapter 1025 - 1024: A Night Full of Thrills

Nakula ran away, jumping directly into the sea water. Although it was uncertain if this creature could survive the way back, Ji Nuan would absolutely not allow her partner to risk chasing after him.

The few higher-status orcs who had just surrounded Nakula also fled with him, leaving behind some minor minions, who were swiftly dealt with by the orcs.

Ji Nuan and the others did not participate in dealing with these sea serpent orcs.

The Aquatic Tribe was different from the Land Orc Tribe; they were divided by kinship, with one kin forming a tribe.

This was unlike the Land Orc Tribe, where various species of orcs cohabited.

Eventually, the tribespeople said that those sea serpent orcs were executed.

With no more dangers on Tortoise Island, Zhuangzhuang blew the conch of the tribe.

The deep and rich sound traveled to every corner of the island.

Hearing the familiar sound of the conch, the Turtle Priest and the tribespeople rejoiced, turning around and running towards the tribe’s residence.

Gui Baobao and Beibei were by now placed in their small baskets by Hai Cao, lying in the straw-padded baskets, fast asleep, saliva streaming.

This night was a harrowing one for the Tortoise Tribe; if the orcs from Watson Tribe and the Swordfish Tribe hadn’t arrived, by sunrise the next day, there probably would be no Tortoise Tribe in the vast sea.

Many orcs were injured, and Shaman Ji Nuan worked tirelessly with the priest everywhere, not finishing treating all the critically wounded orcs until the early dawn.

She was then carried by Captain Xiu Yan, whose face was black as pitch, back into the cave to rest.

A temporary fire pit was hastily dug in the not-so-large cave, with a few thick logs burning within.

A porcelain basin was placed over the fire pit, the water inside emitting a warm steam.

Ji Nuan lay somewhat weakly on the dry straw in the cave, her fatigue making her not want to move even a finger.

Xiu Yan took out a cotton towel from the basket, turned around, soaked it in the warm water, and wrung it out.

Then he took her little hands, now smeared with herbal juice such that their original delicate whiteness was unrecognizable, and began to wipe them clean.

After changing the water several times, Xiu Yan finally wiped down the entire body of the small female, and by that time, Ji Nuan had comfortably fallen deep into slumber, even starting to snore slightly.

The early morning at sea was still very cold; Xiu Yan used a piece of beast skin to block the entrance of the cave, then tiptoed back to the dry straw pile covered with beast skin.

Looking at the exhaustion between her delicate brows, Xiu Yan reached out to hold her in his arms, letting her head rest on his arm.

Nestled against his broad and sturdy chest, surrounded by his familiar scent, the restless Ji Nuan nuzzled into Xiu Yan’s embrace, humming a few times before sinking back into deep sleep.

Xiu Yan held her, feeling the steady breathing of the little female in his arms, looking at that flushed, sleeping face, his deep eyes filled with tenderness.

He pulled up the beast skin blanket to wrap around the little female in his arms and closed his eyes as well.

"Shaman Ji Nuan, Captain Xiu Yan, are you awake?" a soft voice came from outside the door, as quiet as a mosquito’s hum.

This was a method thought up by the orcs.

They knew Xiu Yan’s temper all too well; it was okay to wake him.

But if they woke Shaman Ji Nuan, well, they would be sorry, as they’d be sent flying to heaven without explanation.

Their voices, as those of females, couldn’t be heard by Ji Nuan, but they were indeed calling for Xiu Yan.
