Chapter 969 - 968: The Ferocious Sea Beasts
The vicious hunger of the sea beasts made Ji Nuan click her tongue. Could it be that there were too few edible sea beasts in the Red Sea?
These sea beasts looked as though they had been hungry for centuries.
It seemed her plan for a therapeutic retreat in the Red Sea would have to be abandoned.
She had just reached out to test the temperature of the Red Sea, and to her surprise, it was pleasantly warm.
Just a few days ago, she had suffered a small cut on her hand while packing, and it stung painfully.
It was normal for the high salt content in the Red Sea to cause pain when it irritated a wound.
Ji Nuan and Xiu Yan brought back a large chunk of red salt crystal to the salt-making camp. The orcs had already been clearly organized by Ya Li and Bosson and were learning the salt-making process with tribe members who were familiar with it.
As Ji Nuan and Xiu Yan returned with a large piece of red crystal, everyone was puzzled, yet no one approached to ask questions.
Ji Nuan found an iron pot and Xiu Yan lit a simple stove, setting the pot on it. They added some river water collected from the forest and placed a piece of red salt crystal into it.
All that was left was to wait for it to dissolve, and then see what kind of salt powder resulted.
"Shaman, a few orcs from the Aquatic Clan have come to the camp looking for you," a patrolling orc came to report to Ji Nuan and Xiu Yan.
Ji Nuan and Xiu Yan exchanged glances, then turned to the waiting orc, "Please invite them to wait in the outermost cabin; I will be over shortly."
The orc bowed and ran towards the entrance of the camp.
At the entrance, a group of about fifteen Aquatic Clan orcs was waiting outside.
Had Ji Nuan seen them, she would have been greatly surprised to find among them the old priest, Gui Zhuangzhuang, Elyle from the Sea Crocodile Clan, and an elderly orc who appeared to be about the age of the old priest.
Yet, they all stood respectfully behind an exceptionally tall elder orc, silently.
The elder orc was conversing leisurely with a middle-aged orc by his side, his expression relaxed, showing no sign of haste.
After a while, the orc who had gone to report returned to the camp entrance and made a slight bow before gesturing invitingly, "The Shaman will be here shortly, please wait inside the cabin for a moment."
Ethal frowned deeply, "Some esteemed priests and clan leaders of our Aquatic Clan have come to visit, and your shaman dares to make us wait."
At these words, the expressions of the surrounding patrolling orcs turned cold.
The atmosphere at the scene instantly became tense.
In the eyes of the Watson Tribe, Shaman Ji Nuan was akin to the Beast God; the orcs from other tribes could say anything they liked, but they could not disrespect her.
Suddenly, the door of a nearby cabin creaked open, and a tall and exceptionally charming orc stretched lazily as he stepped out.
He rubbed the corners of his eyes, which had some unidentifiable material in them, before lazily looking toward the group of orcs at the camp entrance, "What’s the matter?"
The orc who had just greeted them looked upset and pointed at Elyle, who had just spoken, "This orc just spoke ill of the Shaman."
The moment the orc spoke, Elyle and the other Aquatic Clan orcs felt the atmosphere thicken instantly.
All the orcs looked in surprise as the lazy orc’s dark eyes fiercely stared back at them, specifically at Elyle in their group.
