Chapter 959 - 958, Tortoise Shell Deed
Shaman Ji Nuan’s eyes lit up at the words, thinking this was perfect. As long as they had the Tortoise Shell Deed, they could proceed with building their territory with peace of mind.
The old priest summoned an orc and gave an instruction. The orc looked at Shaman Ji Nuan and the others with surprise before turning to leave.
Shaman Ji Nuan guessed that the orc was likely gone to retrieve the turtle shell used for carving.
Indeed, it wasn’t long before the orc emerged from the sea, holding in his hand a blackish-green turtle shell about the size of a palm.
The old priest gave a light flick of his hand, and a sharp claw extended from his index finger.
He then took the turtle shell and began to carve it with concentration.
As he worked the shell, it emitted a series of sounds. After a long while, the priest finally stopped.
He exhaled a breath, his index finger already showing a faint hint of red.
Seeing Shaman Ji Nuan looking at his finger, he retracted the nail and smiled, "I’m getting old. My claws aren’t as sharp as they were in my youth. Back then, I could dig tunnels with them."
Shaman Ji Nuan nodded; she knew that orcs could easily excavate tunnels with their claws.
She took the turtle shell from the old priest and drew a small iron knife from her waist, then started to engrave upon it.
The old priest and Gui Zhuangzhuang watched as Shaman Ji Nuan, using something black like a flint knife, etched into the shell. Powder flaked away from the shell under the little black object that was surprisingly sharp.
In no time, Shaman Ji Nuan finished carving the Watson Tribe’s emblem.
The small iron knife was very sharp, bringing the emblem to life with vivid detail.
Shaman Ji Nuan handed the finished turtle shell to the old priest and Gui Zhuangzhuang.
The old priest eagerly took the shell from Shaman Ji Nuan and inspected it, his cloudy eyes suddenly widening with astonishment.
It was nothing short of miraculous; the strange tool Shaman Ji Nuan had used was even sharper than his own claws.
The old priest’s eyes glittered as he glanced at the small iron knife in Shaman Ji Nuan’s hand, then passed the shell back to her.
"This will suffice. Should any of our Aquatic Clan’s orcs venture onto your land, showing them this turtle shell will assure them that the territory is yours."
Shaman Ji Nuan took the turtle shell and carefully placed it into the small beast skin pouch at her waist.
She then turned to the old priest and Gui Zhuangzhuang, "That settles it. I would appreciate if someone from the tribe could guide us to the territory later. You should return and heal the tribe members, old priest, and inform the other mighty warrior tribes of this matter."
The old priest nodded, "Well then, this old orc will take his leave. No need to search for another guide; let Zhuangzhuang take you. After all, you saved his cub."
Gui Zhuangzhuang nodded in agreement, "Yes, Shaman Ji Nuan, I’ll guide you. I go on patrols there several times a year and am quite familiar with it."
Shaman Ji Nuan watched as the old priest disappeared into the sea with several orcs.
"Let’s go, so we can check out the territory sooner, and the Clan Leader can return earlier as well."
Gui Zhuangzhuang also nodded, eager to witness the healing of all the poisoned tribe members in the Watson Tribe.
It took a group of orcs running along the beach for half a day before they stopped at a mountainous area.
Gui Zhuangzhuang stood at the foot of the mountain, pointing to a stretch of the sea in front of them: "This is the territory we spoke of."
