Leisurely Farm Life in Beast World

"Like how we don’t kill beast younglings and pregnant females?" an orc asked.

Ji Nuan nodded, "Exactly. Many herbs are quite particular. Like those hemostatic herbs that scarcely grow in our Eneru Mountain but are abundant in Kuntu Mountain. I haven’t seen ginger like this in our Eneru Forest, which means it probably doesn’t grow well there. So, we should leave some wherever we find them for future collection."

The orcs nodded earnestly, then looked at Xiu Yan and Ya Li who were standing there with baskets on their back, "You heard that, right? Don’t take it all. Leave some for later."

Ya Li put down the basket he was holding, went to the orc’s side and grinned cheekily, "Are you lecturing me?"

The orc rubbed his hands and flashed a flattering smile, "No way, that’s what the Shaman just said."

Xiu Yan put the basket on the ground, his eyes coolly sweeping over the orcs, "Go gather some vines and twigs to weave more baskets."

Gazing at the small mountain-like pile of ginger on the ground, the orcs nodded their agreement energetically, "Okay."

They scattered and in no time, only Ji Nuan, Xiu Yan, and Ya Li were left in the area.

In resignation, Ji Nuan shook her head and glanced at the two, "You two big orcs are so small-minded."

With that, she went into her tent.

Ya Li looked at Xiu Yan, "Was that a compliment?"

Xiu Yan glanced at him, twitching at the corner of his mouth, "She was scolding me, certainly flattering you."

After saying that, he followed into the tent.

Ya Li touched his hair smugly, "Why, of course, I’m much better than you."

Inside the tent, Ji Nuan was organizing her things. She looked up as Xiu Yan came in, "Are there still a lot of gingers in that plot?"

Xiu Yan nodded, "A lot. We only collected from a small area."

Ji Nuan grinned happily, "I can’t believe it. We’ve made such a good harvest this time. It’s worth the trip."

Xiu Yan watched the happy girl, curved his lips in a smile, sat next to her, and boosted her onto his lap with one arm, "After this cold season, I’ll take you to a place."

His deep eyes were on Ji Nuan, and his voice held a hint of joy.

Ji Nuan looked at him curiously, "What place? The only place we haven’t been now is Nia Mountain Forest."

Xiu Yan chuckled, "It’s a magical place, but also very dangerous."

Magical place?

"Does any beast know about it?" They had already visited three of the continents in the Beast World, even the mysterious Beast God Mountain. The only place left unvisited was Nia Forest. How mystical could this place be?

"Some do, but it’s rare."

This statement immediately intrigued Ji Nuan. Her eyes sparkled as she looked at Xiu Yan. Her delicate hands clutching at the front of Xiu Yan’s clothes, her little face full of anticipation, "Tell me about it, please."

Xiu Yan folded Ji Nuan’s delicate hands into a little fist, his warm palm enveloping hers. His steely face softened with a slight smile. Leaning down, he whispered into Ji Nuan’s ear, "It’s a secret."

Aiyo? Making me curious, Ji Nuan glanced quickly, "Will you tell me?"

The orc was firm this time, "It’s a surprise."

So, it’s still a secret then.
