"I can train you, but I insist on standing by your side, it’s too dangerous." Xiu Yan said softly.

Ji Nuan turned around with a mischievous grin, tilting her head up to look at him, "Of course, how could we ever do it without you?"

He patted her head, "Alright, go get something to eat. We’ll set off for the tribe in the afternoon."

Ji Nuan nodded, her small delicate hand clasping Xiu Yan’s large ones, "Let’s go, how could I turn down some of your roasted meat?"

"Xiu Yan, what’s with all these Stinger Bugs you’re getting? Is this some sort of new food?" Ya Li gazed at Xiu Yan emerging from the tent, pointing towards the bug nests and insect corpses packed in three baskets, his eyes gleaming with anticipation.

"What do you think?" Xiu Yan replied nonchalantly.

Ya Li let out a gleeful chuckle, "Definitely a ’yes then’. These bugs look sizeable, maybe they even taste good when stir-fried."

After saying that, his mouth watered at the thought and he made a beeline for the fire pit, "I’ll go ask the Shaman, maybe we can try some right now."

Seeing the orc heading towards the fire pit, Xiu Yan found an uncanny resemblance to the usually cunning Snake Beast in the Grey Bear Orc.

Perhaps it was just due to temporary dullness.

Meanwhile, the dense orc jogged over to Ji Nuan, grinning, "Shaman...hehehe~"

Even before he completed his sentence, he let out a lecherous chuckle.

Ji Nuan eyed him warily, "What is it?"

Ya Li pointed at the three baskets at the entrance, "You’ve gathered so many Stinger Bug corpses. Are they edible too?"

This time, Ji Nuan was truly thunderstruck by Ya Li. She incredulously nodded, "Yes, they can be eaten, why don’t you try one? Crunchy!"

Ya Li’s eyes lit up and he swallowed, "I’ll try some. Since coming to the Monte Tribe, we’ve been eating just roasted meat every day, I really miss our tribal food."

Seeing him actually turn to fetch a Stinger bug to eat, Ji Nuan quickly grabbed his arm, "You’re really going to eat it? I was joking, you can’t eat them."

"Why not, didn’t you say it’s crunchy?" Ya Li looked at her with suspicion.

Ji Nuan could only look helplessly at the unexpectedly food-obsessed Ya Li: "Think about where the Stinger Bugs hatch their larvae?"

"On...corpses..." As he said that, Ya Li’s face turned white: "Now that I think about it, since the bugs feed on the corpses, wouldn’t eating them mean..."

A cold voice interjected at the right moment, "Yes, you would be eating corpses."

"Bleh~" Ya Li scratched his throat, "I feel sick."

"Then you should..." Ji Nuan started to advise him not to think about it, but he had already grabbed a piece of roasted meat from by the fire pit and started devouring it.

"I’ll just stick to roasted meat, those bugs are disgusting."

Ji Nuan and Xiu Yan shared a glance, both saw laughter in each other’s eyes.

This guy, claiming to be disgusted, yet now he’s enjoying meat like it’s the best thing in the world.

The roasted meat prepared by Xiu Yan was just perfect for Ji Nuan’s taste buds. The Orcs like their meat overcooked and although it tasted good, it was always too tough. On the other hand, Xiu Yan’s roasted meat appealed just right to Ji Nuan. After downing three fist-sized chunks, Ji Nuan rubbed her belly satisfyingly, "Ah, I’m full!"
