Chapter 769 - 768, The Amazing Medicine Clay_1
Under Xiu Yan’s guidance, Meng Tai and the orcs saved a lot of energy. Several fiery torches surrounded by burning medicine powder encircled the Monte Tribe. As long as they searched around the torches, they could quickly find the escaped insects.
Looking at the Stingtail Insect Nest in the basket, Xiu Yan hooked his lips in satisfaction. They had gathered so much from just two fire ponds. There must be more in the forests surrounding the remaining three.
"Without the Orcs hosting the breeding nests, these prey are doomed. Even this ferocious Tiger Beast couldn’t escape," an orc sighed, kicking the dead body of the Tiger Beast at his feet remarked.
Meng Tai glanced at him, "You sound regretful. Shall I arrange for you to hatch a nest of Stinger Bugs?"
The orc trembled at his words, "No thanks, I’d rather stay alive. I don’t even have my own kids yet, who would breed these damn Stingtail insects?"
With that, he gave a strong kick, flipping the Tiger Beast’s corpse over, "Flipped over and this guy really... Ah!"
The word was not yet out of his mouth when a stabbing pain shot through the back of his hand and went numb. He looked down to see a large Stingtail Insect perched on his arm, its belly visibly pulsing and turning blood red.
"Don’t move!" An orc with furious red eyes reached out to grab the insect but was stopped by a cold voice.
Xiu Yan walked over quickly, taking a small leaf wrapper from his Beast skin pack. He took out some white powder and gently shook it on the insect’s body.
A miracle happened in a split second. The body of the Stingtail Insect turned purple.
Only then did Xiu Yan reach out and hold the body of the insect, slowly lifting it up, pulling a nearly finger-length proboscis out from the perched orc’s arm.
The surrounding Orcs gasped, "This thing is truly terrifying."
Seeing the Orcs just standing there and staring at the Stingtail Insect body in his hand, Xiu Yan coldly said, "If you don’t apply the Medicine Clay to him now, he’ll soon meet the Beast God."
Meng Tai sprang back to reality at this and quickly took a tubular tree trunk from his backpack. He gingerly used a wooden spoon to apply a small amount of Medicine Clay to the Orc’s black and blue back of the hand.
The moment the Medicine Clay went on, a cooling sensation instantly enveloped his entire hand. The orc sighed in relief, "This thing really works wonders. My arm lost sensation before I knew it. If it wasn’t for Xiu Yan’s swift action, I truly might have been sent to meet the Beast God today."
"How do you feel now?" The other Orcs all crowded around him.
He grinned broadly, raising his bruised, black hand, "Much better. I couldn’t move at all when I was stung, but now I can, and it’s cool and comfortable."
Meng Tai and the other Orcs breathed a sigh of relief at his lighthearted manner.
"Meng Tai." The sound of Xiu Yan’s voice came from the side, by the Tiger Beast’s corpse.
Xiu Yan was standing next to the Tiger Beast corpse, his eyes filled with surprise.
Meng Tai approached, "This is... the larvae inside it are still alive!"
No wonder Meng Tai was so surprised. The nests they had obtained previously had contained eggs of unknown status, with adult insects and larvae all dead. But inside the Stingtail insect nests in the belly of this Tiger Beast, the larvae were still alive.
Moreover...
He glanced at the Stingtail insect in Xiu Yan’s hand. There was even an adult insect still alive.
