Chapter 631 - 630, Who is it?_1
The blonde Orc who was gathering fruits on the tree also heard the voice. His big hand paused in mid-action, adjusted the beast skin he was wearing, and peeped through the cracks between the leaves towards the direction of the voice.
The scattered sunlight in the forest shined down, and a delicate female was bending over searching for something in the forest, her face unseen.
Kun pursed his good-looking lips, slightly frowning. With a movement, he jumped down from the tree.
Examining the Orcs behind him who were all craning their necks to look ahead, his gaze twinkled: "Go ahead."
With that said, he stepped forward in the direction where Ji Nuan and the others were.
Seeing the direction Kun was heading to, the Orcs of the Nacha Tribe’s eyes lit up, holding their beast skins tightly as they promptly followed.
Over at Ji Nuan’s side, they had discovered many rare hemostatic herbs in the Eneru Forest and she quickly called the Orcs to gather them. In a short while, they had already gathered almost a half basket full.
Looking at the bountiful harvest, Ji Nuan was very pleased. If they took advantage of these few days of the trade fair to come out a few more times, dried and stored them, it should be enough to last until the rainy season next year.
"I never thought that there would be so many of these herbs in the Kunteng Forest." Fu Yi, holding three arms-length herbs, happily said.
"Each forest has its own uniqueness. The herbs that grow well in our Eneru Forest may be very scarce here." Ji Nuan spoke as she tossed another herb into the basket.
After looking around, to her surprise, she saw a small white flower trembling in the wind beneath a big tree not far away so she stepped forward.
Just as she was about to reach out and dig, a long clean hand plucked off the small white flower at the top of the herb. A deep, cold voice echoed by her ear: "Is this it?"
This voice was so familiar that Ji Nuan had an illusion that Xiu Yan was right beside her.
She lowered her head, not looking at the face of the Orc in front of her, instead extended her hand to take the flower that was delicately pinched in the big hand.
"Do you need the root as well?" The cold voice asked again.
Ji Nuan was still immersed in the atmosphere and nodded: "Hmm."
"Heh~" Her actions seemed to have amused the Orc, resulting in a chuckle emerging from overhead.
It was familiar, all too familiar; it was clearly the sound of Brother Xiu Yan’s speech and laughter.
She wanted to raise her head and glance at the looks of the Orc, but a voice inside was constantly echoing: Don’t look, don’t look, what if it’s not him?
The ambivalence of wanting to confirm yet fearing disappointment made Ji Nuan feel as though she was being tugged on, it was incredibly uncomfortable.
A hand covered in dirt extended in front of her: "Here."
Ji Nuan’s small, delicate hand trembled slightly, she slowly reached out. It was a gap of not more than two palms long, yet she felt as if time had slowed to a century.
Behind Ji Nuan, Ya Li and Fu Yi, watching the tall Orc hand over the herb, had their eyes wide open.
"Isn’t that..." The herbs in Fu Yi’s arms fell to the ground, yet he had no mind to pick them up.
Ya Li, looking at the blonde Orc with golden eyes who looked exactly like Xiu Yan, could imagine the shock in his heart. He always thought that Xiu Yan’s death was because he didn’t completely eliminate Bertel.
Finally, Ji Nuan managed to overcome her inner conflict and slowly raised her head.
Blonde hair?
A shade of disappointment swept past her eyes, she laughed at herself, she really was foolish and delusional. How could it be Brother Xiu Yan?
"It’s this one, thank..."
The moment she completely looked up, a familiar face came into view. A loud ringing sound seemed to echo in Ji Nuan’s mind, it rumbled thunderously.
