Chapter 595 - 594: Not Seen_1
Ji Nuan could feel her heart pounding fiercely, her hands and feet trembling slightly. She swallowed and tried to calm herself down, turning to Uncle Ge Xing who was still waiting by her side. "Uncle, I need two orcs to accompany me. I want to find them. No matter who they are, I don’t want to lose anyone from our tribe in this battle."
Looking into Ji Nuan’s determined eyes, Ge Xing found himself unable to utter the words of refusal that he had initially intended to say. He finally gave a firm nod. "Alright, I’ll arrange it now. You should prepare more medicinal herbs to take with us later."
Ji Nuan nodded and hurried into the storage room without delay, wrapping up a variety of useful medicinal herbs with leaves or packing them into porcelain jars, which were then placed into a large basket.
Now that she had the company of the orcs, she didn’t have to worry about not being able to carry everything.
Before long, the figures of three orcs entered from outside.
They were surprisingly Ya Li, Ying Yan and Yao. Ji Nuan handed the large basket to Ya Li, and climbed onto Ying Yan’s back. She felt somewhat relieved for having fed Ying Yan two Beast God Fruits after they had returned to the tribe. After all, winged orcs played a significant role within the tribe.
To avoid slowing them down, Yao turned into a cub form and sat nervously in the basket on Ya Li’s back. The four of them set off under the fervent gaze of the tribal people.
The journey was quiet, with the breeze blowing from the forest carrying the scent of the trees, which was quite refreshing.
However, it did nothing to ease Ji Nuan’s anxiety.
Ya Li glanced at Ji Nuan, her eyebrows knitted together. "You should take a rest now. Being tense all the time can be exhausting. If Xiu Yan is really injured, you can’t afford to be without the strength to heal him."
Ji Nuan glared at Ya Li for his morbid prediction, but eventually she closed her eyes to rest and rejuvenate. She needed to be energetic to heal her tribe members.
The pace of the evolved orcs was swift, and soon, they had arrived at the forest. The Dashi Tribe was now less than an hour away.
Ying Yan flew Ji Nuan over the forest. Looking down from the sky, they could even see billows of white smoke rising constantly in the direction of the Dashi Tribe’s base, though it was uncertain whether it was due to fire or dust raised from the battling orcs.
"We can see it now. Let’s speed up," Ji Nuan said excitedly.
Ying Yan flapped his wings, instantly accelerating, while Ya Li below wagged his tail and swam forward with a show of force.
By the time they reached the Dashi Tribe, the once beautiful and serene base was stained red with blood. Corpses of the orcs littered the place.
Ji Nuan’s heart was beating wildly, anxious about the fate of the orcs from her own tribe.
"We are late. It seems the battle has ended," several orcs observed the Dashi Tribe from the tree canopy. Inside the tribe, it was completely devoid of the billowing dust that Ji Nuan and the others had seen from the sky. It was filled with blood and corpses, but not a single orc was in sight.
"I’ll go in and take a look. You guys wait here," Ya Li said before making his way out.
Ji Nuan and Ying Yan hid in the tree canopy, anxiously watching as Ya Li circled the Dashi Tribe and returned.
"How is it? Are there any orcs from our tribe?" Ji Nuan asked.
Ya Li looked a bit distressed as he nodded, "Yes, some of them are unconscious in a cave due to injuries. The others seem to have disappeared somewhere."
