Chapter 526 - 525, Behave Well_1
Ya Li extended a finger to tap on her little head: "Once you’re there, you stay put and don’t run around. It’s not like our tribe, where tribal folks will take you back home. If you get lost there, you’ll end up being eaten by some terrifying beasts."
As he spoke, he let out a grin showing his stark white teeth, causing the tiny darlings body to shudder. The barbecued meat she was clutching in her tiny paws dropped to the ground.
Instantly, she crawled back into the Beast Skin clothes on Ya Li’s chest, pitifully curling up into a little ball. Seeing this, Ya Li felt a twinge of regret for having scared her in such a way.
Shaman Ji Nuan, observing the banter between the two beasts, found it amusing. He tore off a piece of juicy roasted meat and handed it to the little darling: "Come out and eat this quickly. We have to hit the road soon and might not have time to pause for food. An empty stomach is a very uncomfortable feeling."
The kitten looked obediently at Ya Li. Seeing his nod of approval, she happily accepted the aromatic grilled meat, her small eyes almost closing in bliss.
After Meng Tai and the others had finished eating, they gathered some large leaves from the forest. They wrapped up the leftover meat and placed it in their pouches for the road ahead.
Xiu Yan had hunted two Long-eared Beasts intentionally. He roasted one for Shaman Ji Nuan and tossed the other to Ya Li: "For your little companion."
Ya Li, unceremoniously, cleaned the Long-eared Beast and grilled it before packing it away, under the watchful and hopeful eyes of the little bundle.
The weather following the catastrophe was unpredictable; the sky, which was sincerely bright in the morning, was now eclipsed by some insolent clouds that blocked the sun. The air was filled with a cool breeze that was quite refreshing.
Shaman Ji Nuan took a deep, satisfying breath: "This weather is perfect for travelling. It’s very refreshing."
The Orcs packed their belongings. Shaman Ji Nuan mounted the majestic Silver Wolf. Ya Li placed the now drowsy and fully fed kitten into a comfortable basket lined with Beast Skin. His lower body transformed into a beast, and the group of Orcs dashed off in the direction of the Lamu Mountain Forest.
The vast Stone Field, formed by the collapse of two mountain ranges, was incredibly immense. However, the stony road was hard to navigate. Ya Li, known for his hard scales, found it barely bearable and transformed into his Orc form to run on two legs.
"Hmm?" Shaman Ji Nuan, who was dozing off on Xiu Yan’s back, suddenly saw a flash of red in his half-closed eyes, instantly jolting him awake.
"Wait!" Stopping the group, Shaman Ji Nuan spoke with a hint of seriousness: "I think I just saw something over there. It was red."
After saying this, he pointed to the left: "Over there."
The others glanced in the direction he indicated, but whether it was obstructed by the chaotic rocks, none of them could see anything.
Meng Tai stepped forward, looking towards Xiu Yan and Ya Li: "I’ll go check it out with the others. You two wait here."
As the three Orcs carefully treaded towards the indicated area, scanning the surroundings, Shaman Ji Nuan expressed his concern: "Nevermind if there’s nothing there. I might have been seeing things."
The three Orcs, however, shook their heads. Speaking loudly, Meng Tai said: "Wait here, we’ll look around some more."
Then, they resumed their cautious inspection of the area from which they had just come.
"Meng Tai, come over here. Is this the red thing that Shaman Ji Nuan was talking about?" An Orc held up a blackish-red stone to show Meng Tai.
