Leisurely Farm Life in Beast World

The early morning atop the mountain was not particularly pleasant, Ji Nuan was woken by a chilling gust of wind.

Perhaps it was due to the cold breeze that blew in. Xiu Yan pulled Ji Nuan closer into his arms.

"Brother Xiu Yan, let’s get up." Ji Nuan rubbed his eyes, struggling to sit up from the orc’s arms. Looking around, he noticed that the orcs had already started eating and packing away their beast skins.

No wonder it felt a bit colder, all the surrounding ’meat shields’ had left.

The cold mountain had no vegetation, no dry branches for a fire, so the orcs took out their dried meat from their pack to satiate their appetite.

"Here, drink some water." A large hand handed over a bamboo tube.

Ji Nuan gently shook his head: "No, the water in this bamboo tube though better than the snow, drinking too much, I fear, may upset my stomach and delay our progress."

A look of concern crossed Xiu Yan’s eyes. He removed the wooden stopper from the bamboo tube and held it to Ji Nuan’s lips: "Have a taste?"

Ji Nuan gave him a puzzled look, opened his mouth slightly, and took a tiny sip. Hm?

He widened his eyes in surprise: "Is this...warm?"

Xiu Yan nodded: "I knew you didn’t drink cold water, so I’ve been keeping this tube close to my chest, hence the water is warm."

Ji Nuan’s heart softened instantly, this orc really was too good at touching the soft spots of her heart.

Glancing around and noticing everyone was busy, Ji Nuan swiftly moved closer to Xiu Yan and landed a soft kiss on his cool cheek.

"Thank you, Brother Xiu Yan."

Xiu Yan’s eyes gleamed with surprise, the corner of his lips curved into an unrestrainable smile, his gaze toward Ji Nuan was very fond indeed.

"Everyone get ready, we will set off in a bit. The next rest stop is quite a distance away, we need to get there before it gets dark." The large clan leader’s voice rang out.

Ji Nuan, her cheeks flushed, said: "Let’s quickly pack, we have to set off soon."

Xiu Yan ruffled her hair and handed her the bamboo tube: "Eat this piece of dried meat first, drink some warm water while it’s still warm, I’ll pack our things."

On that note, the large orc stood up and busied himself packing."

Upon setting off, the temperature was obviously lower than before. Ji Nuan tucked herself onto Xiu Yan’s back, completely shielded from the cold wind up front.

"Chief, how much longer until we reach the peak?" Ge Xing took a sip of the potion and moved to ask the Clan Leader.

The Clan Leader pondered a moment: "With Shaman Ji Nuan’s medicine this year, we should be able to reach the peak by noon tomorrow. We’ll rest for a bit before we have the winged orcs take us up."

Ge Xing nodded, looking back: "Dashi Tribe only has one winged orc, Ying Da. Our tribe is small, so we can help speed up the journey."

The Clan Leader nodded his approval, Hearing this, Shi Jie moved closer, touched: "Thank you, Ge Xing."

Chief Ge Xing waved his hand dismissively: "Don’t start, I just want to get there sooner."

With that, he hastily made his way back into the Watson Tribe’s ranks, almost as if fleeing.

Clan Leaders from the other tribes exchanged glances and chuckled.

"Once we’re up there, if any tribe dares bully the tribes from Eneru Mountain, I, The Clan Leader, won’t stand for it."
