Xiu Yan sighed helplessly, stood up, and amidst the incredulous eyes of the orcs, took Ji Nuan towards the Fire Seed Forest.
A few Clan Leaders, realizing where they were heading, let out a start and tried to stop the two Orcs. "What are you doing? That’s the Fire Seed Forest."
Shi Jie strongly disagreed.
But Ji Nuan turned his head and smiled, "Don’t worry. Brother Xiu Yan already mentioned about the Fire Seed Fruit earlier. I will not touch it with my hands."
Having said that, he continued towards the Fire Seed Forest.
The Fire Seed Forest was not far from their resting area. Ji Nuan and Xiu Yan quickly arrived. Large, round fire-red fruits, about the size of an orc’s fist, were hidden behind similar-colored foliage, the glossy surface reflecting light like a cluster of vibrant Rubies.
With one hand, Ji Nuan pushed aside the vermillion leaves and plucked a fruit. A gasp filled with disbelief and shock came from the orcs who were watching them, all except for Ya Li who sat there silently with a smirk.
No doubt, his brother’s snake molt was stolen by that shameless orc Xiu Yan, hmph~
"Brother Xiu Yan, if we cut open the fruit, would it release lots of juice?" Ji Nuan asked Xiu Yan.
Xiu Yan shook his head. "I’m not sure, no orc has tried to cut it, touching it is unbearable enough."
Ji Nuan nodded, "Go fetch me a few large leaves. I’ll cut it open to see. This fruit is too large; it won’t fit through the mouth of the bottle."
Xiu Yan hurried off and returned with a few large leaves.
Ji Nuan placed a large leaf on the ground and put the fire-red fruit onto that leaf. Using another large leaf as a barrier between the fruit and them, he took out a stone knife and made a cut.
The fruit’s skin was not thick, and after a few back-and-forth cuts with the stone knife, Ji Nuan made a small opening. A stream of fire-red juice flowed out.
Ji Nuan sighed in relief, lucky he hadn’t tried to open it with his bare hands, or else he would have suffered like the other orcs.
"Brother Xiu Yan, give me a large leaf."
JI Nuan took the leaf that Xiu Yan handed him, rolled it into a funnel shape, and placed it into the bottle. Then, he tilted the Fire Seed Fruit over onto the leaf funnel, letting the juice flow down into the bottle. The sight of the fire-red juice streaming into the bottle was fascinating, and its sweet fragrance gradually filled the air.
Ji Nuan took a sniff, "The juice smell amazing."
Xiu Yan gave her a warning glance, "Once you’re done, we leave."
Ji Nuan giggled, "Don’t worry, I’ll get a few more. The juice is not enough."
After placing the dried-out Fire Seed Fruit peel on the leaf on the ground, Ji Nuan stood up, plucked five more Fire Seed Fruits, and poured all their juices into the bottle the same way as before.
Only then did she put the cap back on, carefully wrapped up the fruit skins lying on the large leaf on the ground and kept them, "Let’s go."
Xiu Yan observed her package of fruit skins, "Why are you bringing these too?"
Ji Nuan grinned, "They would have been discarded anyway. Might as well keep them for later study."
