Chapter 403 - 402, Drug Immunity_1
Meng Tai’s pupils contracted: "Have you seen the Orcs of the Gru Tribe?"
Ji Nuan nodded: "It happened last year. Some nomadic Orcs spread the news about our medicine for treating the worm disease in the Eneru Mountains to the Nia Mountain Chain. That’s why they came across when the river froze over."
The expression on Meng Tai’s face became somewhat serious: "Do you know who the Orcs that came to exchange medicine with your tribe were?"
Ji Nuan felt the tiny lion cub in her arms fluffing up a bit as she said: "The leading Orc is named Bosson."
Meng Tai’s face turned pale: "Bosson!"
Ji Nuan nodded, looking somewhat confused: "What’s wrong?"
Meng Tai explained: "The Divine Tree Clan has notified us, the first trading tribes, that because of the heavy toll the worm disease is taking, they will retain the Beast God Fruits for propagation, thus the quantity of Beast God Fruits available for trade at future major trading events will decrease."
Then he turned to Ji Nuan and Clan Leader Ge Xing, saying: "I suspect, the Gru Tribe is setting its sight on yours. You must be very careful."
Ji Nuan nodded: "Bosson mentioned this to us a while ago, so we were prepared."
Meng Tai sounded somewhat surprised: "Bosson is still in your tribe?"
Ge Xing raised his eyebrows with a smug air: "Bosson and the other Orcs he brought are now a part of our Watson Tribe."
Before letting Meng Tai continue asking questions, Ji Nuan asked quickly: "What I wanted to ask was, have you seen the kind of worm that lives inside the bodies of the Divine Tree people?"
Meng Tai stiffened, reluctant to recall: "The worms inside us Orcs are the same, except the ones inside them are black."
Ji Nuan nodded, looking at Meng Tai: "I see, I had a thought, If the medicine doesn’t work, we can use painkillers to make the Divine Tree people asleep like treating an injured Orc, cut open their stomachs, and get the worms out."
Meng Tai shook his head: "Shaman Ji Nuan, you don’t know, the Divine Tree people are not like us, they are a race blessed by the Beast God. No herbs or poisonous plants harm them, so herbal medicine is also useless."
Ji Nuan’s eyes widened. So it’s that troublesome?
All she could do was sigh, saying: "Let’s see what happens then, I’ll go back and think of another solution."
Monte also nodded, his earlier hope that Ji Nuan could cure the Divine Tree people’s disease dwindled; it seemed Ji Nuan wasn’t all-powerful. He just appears to have overestimated her a bit.
After the group of beasts dispersed, Ji Nuan sat on Xiu Yan’s back, who turned back into his beast form, quietly thinking of a solution.
...
"Ge Tai, hurry, there are many Orcs heading this way!" A Watson Tribe Orc patrolling the city wall shouted down to the tribe below.
Ge Tai, who was dividing up the game below, instantly stabbed his iron tool into the animal and stood up: "I’m going to check it out, all of you be ready for the fight."
The Orcs grabbed their weapons and responded in unison.
Ge Tai ran up to the city wall and looked into the distance, where he could see a number of small black dots moving towards the tribe.
The Orc next to him whispered: "Could it be the Clan Leader and others?"
Ge Tai pursed his lips: "We can’t be sure at the moment, just be ready for the fight."
