Leisurely Farm Life in Beast World

Chapter 397 - 396, Difficult to Explain_1

Ji Nuan looked back and saw that many Orcs had gathered at the entrance of the tent without her realizing. Chief Shi Jie, Chief Bear, Uncle Ge Xing, and Meng Tai were all among them.

Ji Nuan smiled and said, "The powder I’m referencing doesn’t belong to me. It is a gift from Lord Beast God to us, and belongs to the Orc Lord, so I can’t use it as a trade item."

All Orcs showed disappointment on their faces. Without the powder as Shaman Ji Nuan said, even if they ate roasted meat and drank boiled water, it wouldn’t make a difference. As long as they drank beast blood, they would still get the parasite disease again.

Ge Xing looked at Ji Nuan confusedly, not understanding why she was unwilling to trade this powder for salt with these tribes.

Ji Nuan smiled and said, "This powder is a rather common substance that grows on trees. In the past, we called it the Fruit of Divine Punishment. Have any of you heard of it before?"

"Fruit of Divine Punishment!!!"

"My goodness, it’s the Fruit of Divine Punishment?"

"That’s the fruit of disaster!"

Upon hearing the name ’Fruit of Divine Punishment’, all of the Orcs began to buzz with chatter.

Only Meng Tai stood there in confusion, wondering what the Fruit of Divine Punishment was. Was it tasty?

Chief Shi Jie’s face twitched as he turned to Ji Nuan, "Shaman, this Fruit of Divine Punishment... it’s seen as a fruit of disaster!"

Chief Bear nodded in agreement with a cautious expression.

Ji Nuan however, laughed, "This is not some fruit of disaster; you just didn’t know its proper use. Since the last winter, we haven’t eaten raw meat or drank fresh blood, yet the Orcs of our Watson Tribe remain strong and vigorous."

Having said that, she turned to the Orcs around her, "We now call this fruit ’Salt’. The male and female Orcs of our Watson Tribe have already gotten used to using ’Salt’ as food."

Ji Nuan smiled and continued, "Whether to accept it or not, it’s your choice and I won’t interfere. If any of your tribe members get the parasite disease in the future, they can still come to our tribe and exchange for the medicinal powder."

After saying this, she turned around to look at the tribal member preparing the medicine, "After you have prepared the medicine, go back and help the females see if the soup is ready."

The Orc nodded.

Ji Nuan turned to the few group leaders and old shamans, "I’ll go back first then. The medicine on his body will last until this time tomorrow. I’ll come again to dress his wound."

The old shaman nodded, "Alright."

Ji Nuan turned to Ge Xing who was hesitating to say something, "Uncle Chief, if there’s nothing else, we should go back."

Ge Xing nodded, "Let’s go, let’s go."

Ji Nuan and Ge Xing made their way back, followed by a tall and robust Orc.

Once back inside the tent, Ge Xing looked over at the seemingly relaxed Meng Tai, "Meng Tai, do you need something?"

Meng Tai nodded, "I’d like to ask about the Fruit of Divine Punishment that the Shaman mentioned earlier."

Ge Xing stood up, fetched a small porcelain jar from a basket at the side, scooped out some Salt with a wooden spoon onto a large leaf and handed it to Meng Tai, "This is the powder extracted from the Fruit of Divine Punishment. Give it a try, only a small bit is needed."

Meng Tai looked at the white powder on the leaf and finally pinched a bit and put it in his mouth. His face crumpled up immediately, "The taste..." It was rather indescribable. It was even a bit bitter.
