Leisurely Farm Life in Beast World

Chapter 355 - 354, Awesome_1

When Ji Nuan and Xiu Yan arrived at the Porcelain House, the crowd of orcs instantly parted, paving a small path for them. This enabled the two to successfully reach the stone where yesterday’s forging had taken place.

The old beastman sitting on the stone was holding a piece of beast skin, meticulously cleaning an iron knife the length of Ji Nuan’s arm. Although the knife appeared crude, the orcs still fixed their glowing eyes on it with pure desire. After all, they had witnessed the incredible power of iron the day before.

Ji Nuan too was excitedly observing the knife. "It was really made," he murmured in disbelief.

The old beastman stood up and handed the iron knife to Ji Nuan. "Shaman," he suggested, "You should be the first to try it."

As Ji Nuan accepted the knife from the old beastman, the weight unexpectedly caused his arms to slacken. He laughed awkwardly, "I think I should find an orc to help me. I might not be able to swing it."

The old beastman nodded in agreement.

Turning around, Ji Nuan handed the iron knife to Xiu Yan. "Brother Xiu Yan, could you help me test this?"

Xiu Yan received the knife in one hand, looked around, and then suggested, "Let’s go outside. It’s too cramped in here."

All the orcs quickly followed, crowding around to exit. Once outside, Xiu Yan thoughtfully studied the knife. Could this thin sheet of iron truly be sharper than stone?

Ji Nuan pointed at a line of trees behind the yard. "Let’s go back there and try chopping a tree."

The old beastman grimaced, full of anxiety. Although the iron knife was amazing for cutting meat, using it to chop trees seemed a bit...

Eventually, everyone followed Ji Nuan to the edge of a small grove. He pointed at a fairly thick tree and said, "This one will do."

The old beastman stepped forward, "Isn’t that one a bit too thick? How about this one?" He pointed to a smaller tree nearby, no thicker than Ji Nuan’s leg.

Ji Nuan smirked, "Uncle, we’re testing it, so we should challenge ourselves. You could probably snap that little tree with just your arm!"

The old beastman’s face reddened slightly and he let out a small, embarrassed laugh as he stepped aside.

Xiu Yan stepped up, casually swung the iron knife, and struck the giant tree embracing the beast.

With a resounding "clang", the knife surprisingly sank halfway into the trunk.

"!!!"

Not just the surrounding orcs but even Xiu Yan, who was wielding the knife, was astounded at the sheer sharpness of the blade.

He carefully pulled the knife from the tree trunk, and couldn’t help but reach out wanting to touch the blade which reflected a chilly light in the sun.

But Ji Nuan instantly grabbed his arm, "Brother Xiu Yan, don’t touch the blade! You might accidentally lose a finger."

Hairs on the back of Xiu Yan’s neck prickled at the thought. What if he really did touch the extremely sharp blade...

The old beastman, eyes gleaming, approached to take the knife from Xiu Yan. He walked back to that tree and, with a swing of his arm, chopped down once again.

"Crack!" The tree emitted a crisp sound as it fell to the ground.

"Shaman, this iron weapon...it’s incredibly sharp. We..." The old beastman was so excited he could barely speak.

Ji Nuan smiled at the eager orcs behind him. "Let’s let them try the knife out too. But remember, no fighting over it. Form a line."

Just for the chance to touch such an impressive weapon, the orcs complied happily, eagerly agreeing with nods.
