Chapter 346 - 345, Waiting_1
"Yeah, I was planning to take out the porcelain once it was fired. However, this red stone got thrown into the pot unexpectedly, and even turned into a liquid. I don’t know what happened." The old orc lamented as he looked at the thick red liquid inside the two porcelain pots.
Ji Nuan gaped in astonishment at the "liquid" in the pots.
This was clearly not water, but likely some kind of molten metal.
Thinking about the other orc tribes in the tribe, Ji Nuan waved her hand quickly: "Everyone, do not spread this word out. Do not let the orcs of the Dashi Tribe know about this. It is very important to our tribe. Understand?"
Upon hearing the shaman’s words, the bystander orcs nodded in agreement without hesitation.
Everyone exchanged a look and quietly left without causing further commotion.
Back in China, out of curiosity, Ji Nuan researched the simple process of turning iron ore into ironware. One video showed iron ore being placed into a high-temperature furnace until it glowed red, almost like a fireball. It was then hammered to remove the impurities slowly.
However, looking at the slightly viscous, red metallic liquid in the porcelain pot, Ji Nuan wondered if perhaps it had been overheated?
"Stop waiting. Bring out these two porcelain pots carefully. The liquid inside is scorching hot." Ji Nuan instructed the orc near the furnace.
The old orc stepped forward personally, picking up a black stick from the edge of the furnace and hooking the edge of the porcelain pots, taking them out.
Ji Nuan pulled the two porcelain pots to the corner: "Leave them here for now. It is too hot to tell what it is. Wait for it to cool a bit before we look again."
Seeing her seriousness regarding the liquid in the pots, the old orc instructed two orcs to guard them.
"It’s dangerous. Do not let the young ones come in. Imagine if they fall into the furnace or fire. How dangerous that would be!"
Realizing the danger, the orcs broke into a cold sweat, nodding in agreement. The old orc hit his black stick, "Shaman, rest assured, I will keep two orcs at the door. No one who isn’t supposed to be here will get in."
Ji Nuan nodded: "Ok, you may go now. I will wait here."
The old orc glanced at Ji Nuan, sitting on a beast skin cushion, her eyes riveted on the two porcelain pots, before turning to resume his chores with the orcs.
Although many porcelains have been fired in the tribe, large ones like jars for pickling vegetables were always in need.
Time passed slowly, and as the liquid in the porcelain pots cooled, its color started to deepen.
Ji Nuan bent over and put her hand above the pot to feel the heat. It was still very hot, but not as unbearable as before.
Ji Nuan turned to the two guarding orcs: "Go out and find a very hard stone."
She made a circle with her arms to indicate the size: "This size should be enough. Also, bring some good stone tools."
The two orcs, without any question, nodded and went to prepare what Ji Nuan needed.
These orcs were very quick. Ji Nuan felt that it was just a while for her looking at the slowly solidifying liquid in the porcelain pots, yet the two orcs had already returned with the needed materials.
"Shaman, everything is prepared. What else do we need to do?"
