Chapter 327 - 326, Little Bird_1
Ji Nuan wiped the sweat from his forehead and grinned, "Alright, we’ll go down in a bit. I’ll have the orcs bring some branches so I can set it for you."
Ying Da nodded pallidly.
From his beast skin pouch, Ji Nuan carefully took out the Divine Wood Tree medicinal powder he had just swindled from Mo Peisi, scooping it up with a clean wooden stick and evenly sprinkled it on the wound at Ying Da’s back.
"Is this the miraculous medicine you talked about? It feels cooling, and the wound doesn’t hurt as much now," said Ying Da, his voice finally easing a bit.
"Yes, indeed it is," Ji Nuan softly confirmed.
When he used it on that guy Ya Li, there was no such detailed testimony. It must have been because his arm wound was too small to feel anything significant. Next time, he’d have to make a bigger one.
With Ji Nuan’s words in mind, Ya Li’s tail twitched, narrowly avoiding a surprise attack by a Hyena Beast. He couldn’t help but wonder why his back felt suddenly cold.
Shaking his head and flicking his tongue, he resumed his relentless attack.
The addition of two strong combatants greatly eased the burden on the Dashi Tribe’s hunting team, especially when those two were particularly formidable beast races.
When only about twenty Hyena Beasts remained, their leader, who had been hiding in the distance, let out a strange cry. Turning tail, it ran towards the depths of the forest. Seeing the boss flee, the others followed suit, tucking their tails between their legs and running as fast as they could.
The overwhelming attack on the Dashi Tribe’s hunting team ended with a ground littered with corpses and a greatly diminished creature population.
"Thank you both for helping our Dashi Tribe. I am Luo Ke, the captain of the Dashi Tribe’s hunting team," said the bloodied giant fox that had transformed back into orc form, sincerely thanking Xiu Yan and Ya Li.
Ya Li, lounging lazily on the ground, waved his hand and said, "No need for thanks, just hurry and bring down your tribe’s bird and the little one."
Luo Ke looked at him quizzically, "Bird?"
Xiu Yan kicked Ya Li as he started to get up, earning himself a disdainful glare. "Don’t get too cocky, wolf, I’m not an easy one to mess with."
Xiu Yan smirked, choosing to ignore his ridiculous snake companion. Looking at Luo Ke, he said, "A cub guided us here. She, my partner, and Ying Da are all in that tree over there."
He pointed to a large tree not far behind them.
Luo Ke’s pupils contracted, "A cub?"
He hurried toward the tree Xiu Yan had pointed out, "Luo Zhi?"
A small fox cub, who had been enjoying a cuddle in Ji Nuan’s arms, jumped out at the sound of her father’s voice. In Ji Nuan’s surprised cry, she jumped into Luo Ke’s arms with the grace of a freefalling body.
Seeing his lively and mischievous cub alive and well brought tears to Luo Ke’s eyes. It was enough that his child was still alive.
Xiu Yan used his wings to carry Ji Nuan down from the tree.
"Ying Da, don’t move. Let Brother Xiu Yan carry you down," Ji Nuan stated firmly as soon as she touched the ground.
Xiu Yan looked at her incredulously, "Me? Carry him? A male?"
Ji Nuan nodded seriously, "Yes, Ying Da has injured his shoulder bone. I just set it right, it shouldn’t be moved or jostled."
She pouted, "Seeing as I worked so hard to treat him, you wouldn’t want my efforts to go to waste, would you? Please, Brother Xiu Yan~"
