Chapter 97 - 88: Teaching a Lesson
Chapter 88: Teaching a Lesson
When those words echoed through the main hall, everyone was stunned. Even Nie Xiaotian couldn’t react, left standing frozen on the spot.
How dare Nie Yun say such a thing to someone from Divine Wind City’s Luo Family? ’Does he have a death wish?’
Even though the Nie Family now had a Qi Sect Powerhouse, they were still worlds apart from an old, established clan like the Luo Family. To speak to them like this was simply courting death!
"What? What did you just say?" Luo Yu and Luo Cheng asked, as if they hadn’t heard him correctly. "Say that again!"
"Heh, I have a couple of turds right here for you. If you get hungry on the road, feel free to have a bite. It’s more satisfying than any money you could ask for. Don’t be shy, just take them!"
As if he hadn’t noticed the murderous glint in their eyes, Nie Yun chuckled, swaggered into the room, and casually took a seat in one of the high-backed chairs.
"Good. Very good!" Luo Yu never expected some boy to just show up and dare to speak to him this way. He was so furious he could burst, his face contorting as veins bulged on his forehead. He turned to Nie Xiaotian. "Clan Leader Nie Xiaotian, what impressive ’manners’ your family has! A family with such ’manners,’ I see no reason for it to continue existing in the Divine Wind Empire! I’ll write a report right now. I guarantee that in less than three days, not a single soul in your Nie Family will be left alive!"
With that, Luo Yu slammed his hand on the table and shot to his feet, his rage flaring like a fire reaching for the heavens.
"Young Master Luo Yu, my apologies! This is my son, Nie Yun. He doesn’t know who you are, and his words were offensive. Please, forgive him!" Hearing Luo Yu’s vicious threat, Nie Xiaotian’s face fell. He quickly turned to his son. "Yun’er, these two are young masters from the Luo Family of Divine Wind City! The Luo Family is one of the top three clans in the entire Empire! They’ve just fallen on hard times and have come to borrow some money. Now, hurry up and apologize..."
"Apologize? If apologies actually worked, what use would the Empire have for its armies!"
Luo Yu cut Nie Xiaotian off, stepping down from his seat into the center of the hall. His face was a mask of malice as he stared at Nie Yun. "For the Nie Family to act so arrogantly, you must be harboring criminals from the Demon Race. Colluding with the demons... it seems your clan has no reason to exist anymore!"
Even the great clans of the Empire couldn’t simply bully weaker ones as they pleased; otherwise, they would give rival clans an excuse to attack them verbally.
But with a single sentence, Luo Yu had pinned a capital crime on the Nie Family. As long as the Demon Race was involved, no one would dare utter a word of protest, even if the Luo Family annihilated them completely.
This was power. This was influence.
"You’re Nie Yun, aren’t you? Today, I’m going to capture you, hang you from the city walls, and carve you up piece by piece. Then, I’ll make you eat a pile of crap so you learn the price for offending me!"
Luo Yu stopped a short distance from Nie Yun, his face a vicious snarl.
He intended to make an example of this so-called young master of the Nie Family.
He would show everyone in the Nie Family that the authority of the Luo Family was not to be challenged!
"Why don’t you eat the crap? I certainly don’t have a taste for it! If you’re really that eager, I can have someone prepare a bucket for you. And if you don’t like the taste, I can have them add some scallions!" Nie Yun said with a faint smile, not even budging from his seat.
’Adding scallions... to eat crap...’
Hearing his son say something that would completely offend the two young masters of the Luo Family, Nie Xiaotian nearly fainted from shock.
The Great Elder, who had just been injured, looked as if his eyes were about to pop out of his head and fall to the floor. He muttered, "We’re done for. It’s all over. The Luo Family is going to slaughter every last one of us..."
"Die!"
Luo Yu couldn’t believe it. Not only did this brat want to feed him crap, but he wanted to add scallions to it? He flew into a volcanic rage, a fire of pure fury igniting in his heart, threatening to make him explode.
’It was one thing to run into an Ultimate Venerable Powerhouse and have to back down,’ he thought. ’But for the young master of some minor clan to dare speak to me like this? It’s an unforgivable offense!’
With a roar, Luo Yu lashed out with a palm strike aimed at Nie Yun.
He instantly unleashed the full power of his Armor Realm. His dense True Qi coalesced in the air, forming a giant hammer the size of a water vat that came crashing down on Nie Yun’s head. It looked as if anyone hit by it, no matter their strength, would be instantly reduced to a bloody pulp and suffer a violent death.
’A Marquis Clan Low-Grade Martial Art, the Sunset Copper Hammer. Heh, to execute it this well with just the strength of a Mid-Stage Armor Realm cultivator... not bad at all.’
As the attack descended, Nie Yun gave a faint smile and pushed his right hand forward, casually deflecting the blow.
When he saw the young man block his attack, Luo Yu finally discerned his true strength: Peak of the Early-Stage Armor Realm. "Peak of the Early-Stage Armor Realm? No wonder you’re so arrogant. So you do have some skill. However, that’s still not enough to impress me. Die!"
’To have such strength at his age isn’t bad,’ he thought, ’but compared to me, he’s still a long way off!’
With a great laugh, Luo Yu took another step forward, flipped his palms, and struck out with both hands at once.
"I’ll give you a taste of a Marquis Clan Top-Grade Martial Art! You’ve probably never even heard of a technique of this caliber! Consider it an honor to die by this move! Marquis Clan Top-Grade Martial Art—Thunderous Fire!"
Luo Yu once again unleashed the same ultimate technique he had used to injure the Male Tiger-Headed Beast.
As his palms moved, two scorching Fire Dragons sprang to life. Their massive jaws opened wide as they spiraled down to bite at Nie Yun.
Peals of thunder cracked from within the dragons’ mouths. It seemed that if they landed a bite, even an Armor Realm expert would have their Armor shattered, suffering the Death of the Body and Fall of the Dao.
’You’re courting death. Since you’re so eager to die, don’t blame me for what I’m about to do!’
Seeing his opponent resort to such a vicious technique on only his second move, Nie Yun’s expression turned grim. With a cold snort, he rose to his feet and met the attack with the Great Rock-Splitting Palm.
The Great Rock-Splitting Palm, though a Marquis Clan Top-Grade Martial Art, was known as the most powerful offensive technique of the Marquis Clan. A giant palm materialized in the air. The instant Luo Yu’s scorching Fire Dragons made contact with it, they detonated, unable to last for even a second.
"Ah? How is this possible... Luo Cheng, quick, help me!"
Stunned that the young man could unleash such a powerful attack, Luo Yu cried out as he hastily retreated.
"Marquis Clan Top-Grade Martial Art—Destruction Fist!"
Luo Cheng was no fool. The moment he saw the boy attack, he knew his power was extraordinary. He had already launched his strongest attack before Luo Yu could even finish his cry for help.
The Destruction Fist was said to shatter all other techniques. No matter how advanced one’s Secret Technique or how peerless their Martial Arts, they would be ground to dust and utterly destroyed on impact.
’Thunderous Fire and Destruction Fist... both are fine Martial Arts, but they’re wasted on the likes of you. Time to lie down!’
The addition of the Destruction Fist greatly enhanced the power of Luo Yu’s Thunderous Fire. But to Nie Yun, it was still nothing. Their combined attack wouldn’t have been a match for him even before he absorbed the Demon Core, to say nothing of his current strength.
With a faint smile, Nie Yun caused the power of his Great Rock-Splitting Palm to surge once more. BOOM!
THUD! THUD!
Luo Yu and Luo Cheng were slammed flat on the ground. They struggled ceaselessly but to no avail, like fish flopping on a scorching griddle.
