Life Simulation: My Talent Is Wool

Chapter 48: Arriving at Kaleb Village.

The path to Kaleb Village was not completely smooth.

Having to pass through the forest, following a not very conventional path, since no dirt road was created, or it was simply erased over time... They encountered some Lv2 wild animals.

Soon their cart became more full.

There was even a family of lions that attacked them in a group of one lion and six lionesses. The lion being Lv2 and the rest Lv1.

Obviously, they didn’t stand a chance against Luan and Catharina.

Luan alone managed to defeat all of them.

*Screech!*

"Threads of death!" Luan pulled the thread that wrapped around the neck of a Lv2 wild boar, giving that attack a ridiculous name, adding in a light tone: "Just kidding~"

"Squeeee!"

"Oink, oink!"

The four legs of the wild boar thrashed in the air, but the threads created by Luan, and even the tree trunk used, supported the great weight of half a ton.

"Do it." Luan commanded.

"Yes." Catharina agreed, with a clear and cold voice.

Her hand was shaped like a shovel with very large and sharp nails. Then, with a calculated and precise attack, she struck the boar’s throat with a single leap.

The blood of the wild boar that began to flow was quickly controlled by Catharina while Luan lowered the threads, leaving the wild boar at a height where Catharina could place her hand into the hole she made in the throat of the body, pulling all the blood of the creature out.

The shine in the wild boar’s eyes disappeared.

"Great!" Luan’s voice was warm and captivating: "I can’t wait to taste your meat..."

He wiped the trail of drool with the back of his hand.

There’s no way not to get excited about this, after all, it’s not every day you see a Lv2 wild boar.

It was difficult for this creature to reach this level, even those that do are hunted by other predators like lions.

The dismantling process was easy since Catharina drained all the blood.

The blood of a Lv2 animal was valuable, even if they didn’t have a real use for it now, they could sell it in Kaleb Village.

A curiosity. The village has this name because of the Kaleb family that founded the village, making it prosperous.

That was five hundred years ago, and even in the present day, members of the Kaleb family govern the village.

Well, knowing the history of the village wasn’t that important, but it was interesting to know.

’It would be great to get some books.’ He thought: ’Preferably something I haven’t read yet, related to dreams or a coma caused by the awakening of a talent.’

Even now he didn’t forget to find a way to wake his twin sister.

"Thinking about something?" Catharina asked, in a neutral and direct tone.

"Nothing much." He replied, changing the subject: "We’re almost arriving at Kaleb Village. I hope we can get an animal to pull our cart."

Catharina didn’t think much, saying: "A horse would be perfect."

"I believe it shouldn’t be hard to find one, after all, horses aren’t difficult to raise, but whether they’re willing to sell is another story." Luan could only give a bitter smile.

But soon he cheered up: "Actually, if they have a pack donkey and are willing to sell it to us, it would be perfect."

At worst, they would have to tame some animal themselves.

The main point of going to the village is also to sell goods that have become dead weight for them, especially meat from animals that could spoil, although it is salt-cured meat, they still preferred to eat fresh meat and had the means to hunt.

In the current situation they found themselves in, hunting wild animals was quite easy.

...

A few hours later, they saw imposing walls that surrounded a large area in a circular shape.

Unintentionally, Luan ended up laughing as he recalled a joke.

’Did whoever built this village hate his mother-in-law?’ He wondered amusedly.

"What’s so funny?" Catharina asked, curious.

Laughing a little, he explained: "Nothing much, I just thought of a joke. Want to hear it?"

"Of course," She nodded with interest.

"It goes like this." He began: "A friend goes to visit another who just got married and notices the round balcony, the round living room, the round bedrooms, the round bathrooms. In short, everything is round, even the kitchen is round.

He exclaims: "What innovation! Your architect was very bold!"

And he, all proud: "The idea was mine... When I told my fiancée I was going to build a house, my mother-in-law asked me to make a little corner for her, so I made a round house!!"

"Wow, that’s so mean..." She laughed: "Hahaha, only you to tell a joke like that~"

He shrugged and kept smiling.

He loved her laugh. It was even more cozy and pleasant than the sound of a bell.

Walking along the dirt road, they advanced toward one of the entrances of the village.

"Hello, I’ve never seen you around here."

Behind them, there was a woman with a bamboo basket on her back. Her voice was warm and captivating. She had a calm smile as she looked in their direction.

Both Luan and Catharina stopped.

Looking at the woman with sweat running down her forehead and simple but clean clothes, Luan replied: "Yes, we came from afar and want to trade some things."

"Travelers from afar, huh. I see." She gave a knowing smile: "Wow, looking at you two up close, I can see that you are very beautiful. Are you a couple?"

"Yes, we are married~!" Catharina was the one who answered enthusiastically, taking Luan’s hand.

"Hahaha, so in love! It’s so good to be young~!" The woman amused herself with that.

Luan simply smiled in response.

"By the way, my name is Vanessa." She wanted to offer her hand, but noticing that it was dirty, she pulled it back with a hint of embarrassment.

Neither Luan nor Catharina minded.

"My name is Catharina." She replied in a calm tone and even if cold, there was still a certain warmth in her voice.

"Luan." He said: "Luan Armstrong."

"Luan and Catharina, right?" She smiled again: "Come, I will show the village to you. I’m a native and I know everything, if you have any questions, just ask."

"Thank you." Luan thanked, believing that having a native helping would indeed be of great help.

"Thank you." Catharina also thanked.

"It’s nothing." She waved her hand as if she didn’t mind.
