Grinding EXP From a Demon Hunting Ship

There were too many of them.

It was an impossible fight.

Run!

In a flash, Su Ye’s mind raced, and he made his decision.

These animated armors were ridiculously tough. If it were just one, he could slowly chip away at it until it was dead. But in this situation, faced with dozens of suits of full plate armor...

He didn’t stand a chance!

"Farewell!"

Su Ye pushed off with the soles of his boots. With a muffled THUD from the ground, he used the reactive force to shoot backward.

’If this were a game, these animated armors should obediently return to their posts after I leave the corridor...’

Su Ye grumbled to himself.

But...

CRASH!

A heavy Nail Hammer smashed down, shattering both the carpet and the Obsidian floor tiles beneath it. Debris flew everywhere!

These dozens of animated armors pursued him relentlessly, as if he’d murdered their families. They showed no intention of returning to their posts!

Greatswords, Nail Hammers, and longspears rained down on him like a raging storm, the sheer force of the assault overwhelming!

However, the offensive power of these suits of full plate armor wasn’t nearly as absurd as their defense.

Their might was roughly equivalent to that of an Early-stage or Mid-stage Golden Core cultivator.

But there weren’t just one or two suits of full plate armor here—there were dozens!

With such numbers, the damage quickly accumulated, and even Su Ye found the situation incredibly difficult to handle.

Furthermore, after a period of being chased, Su Ye discovered that the weapons wielded by these animated armors each had unique properties.

’The longspears can fire blasts of energy, like javelins.’

’The greatswords are immensely powerful; parrying their strikes damages my own weapon.’

’The Nail Hammers are the most annoying. They have a concussive effect that disrupts my Magical Power and vital energy, making them difficult to focus.’

Caught off guard during his first encounter, Su Ye was stunned for a moment by a Nail Hammer. Immediately, six or seven weapons came hacking down at him!

If he hadn’t activated Shadow Flash in time, he would have been severely wounded!

’This is such bullshit...’

’These damn trash mobs with their crowd control, swarming tactics, and high health and armor... I could just puke. How can anything be this annoying...’

Su Ye cursed wildly in his mind. The dozens of animated armors were suppressing him so completely that he couldn’t even fight back.

’The only good news is that these things seem limited to physical attacks, just hacking and slashing with their weapons... They don’t seem to have any Magic abilities, do they?’

The chase led them to a crossroads.

Darkness flickered in Su Ye’s eyes. His body blurred, splitting into three illusory copies that fled in three different directions!

This act made the suits of armor pause for a moment. With their target split into three, their simple intelligence was thrown into confusion.

But not for long.

The group of armored figures also split into three, dividing their forces to give chase.

A few dozen seconds later, the heavy THUMP, THUMP of footsteps gradually faded as the animated armors moved away from the area.

"Phew..."

’Just as I expected.’

In a corner, within the shadow of a vase, the darkness twisted and swelled, revealing Su Ye’s figure.

All three were illusory copies. His real body had been hiding at the crossroads the entire time!

’The animated armors have outstanding offense and defense. Their only weaknesses are their low intelligence and their insensitivity to magical fluctuations.’

’Even an ordinary Mid-stage or Late-stage Golden Core cultivator would have a decent chance of survival, as long as they were clever enough not to fight them head-on.’

Su Ye mused to himself.

He thought of the other Golden Core cultivators from the three sects.

Since he had been pulled into this place, it was unlikely that the other Golden Core cultivators were dead. They had most likely been pulled into this dreamscape as well.

’I just wonder if this dreamscape supports multiplayer?’

Su Ye rubbed his chin. If it did, and he could team up with a few others, dealing with these animated armors would be much easier.

After all, individually, the armors weren’t that strong.

’Lu Chen, Han Tiantong... those cultivators at Golden Core Perfection could probably handle three to five armors at once, slowly chipping away until they’re destroyed.’

’Even for Qin Wuyou, Wu Yiling, Feng, and Zheng, dealing with a single suit of armor wouldn’t be too difficult.’

Just as he was thinking,

CLANK.

The sound of heavy footsteps echoed in the distance.

Su Ye’s eyes flashed. Instead of hiding, he narrowed his gaze and gripped his Moon Blade Halberd!

’From the sound of the footsteps, there’s only one of them.’

He licked his lips, a savage light in his eyes. ’I can take it!’

After being chased for so long without any way to fight back, Su Ye was simmering with frustration!

CLANK.

The footsteps drew nearer.

An animated armor with a greatsword on its back appeared in his line of sight.

CLANG!

A fierce whistling sound cut through the air as the Moon Blade Halberd descended in a heavy, powerful vertical chop aimed right at the armor’s helmet!

Such was the speed of the Moonfall Halberd that even in a swing, not a throw, it moved at the speed of sound. The animated armor had no time to react before its helmet was struck, leaving a massive dent!

Had it been a living person, such a wound would have been fatal.

But the animated armor had no vital spots. It took the hit without even a hint of being stunned, completely ignoring the Moonfall Halberd as it gripped its greatsword!

SWISH!

The sword swung wide, smashing into the ground!

Su Ye moved with grace, taking a single step back to evade the slash.

A cloud of shattered Obsidian shards and dust from the carpet billowed up.

SHINK!

A silvery Moon Arc flashed!

It pierced through the cloud of dust and smoke!

The Moonfall Halberd shot forward, striking the gap between the animated armor’s torso and helmet.

Using the halberd like a spear, Su Ye thrust upward, launching the ten-foot-tall suit of full plate armor into the air!

Airborne!

And then... came the frenzied assault!

’You’re tough, are you? Let’s see just how tough you really are!’

SHINK!

Su Ye’s assault was blindingly fast.

He swung the Moonfall Halberd relentlessly, forming an impenetrable silver screen of motion!

A tide of silver light!

For a moment, Su Ye actually managed to suppress the animated armor with the sheer speed of his attacks.
