Chapter 95: Hangover
Baldwin stood at attention, his hands clasped behind his back.
They were currently in the mansion his Lady had requested, and here he was, watching her think through the report he’d just given.
"Are you sure?" Morgana asked, glancing up at her bodyguard.
"Yes, my lady." Baldwin nodded. "I even double-checked it myself. He’s an orphan with no support of any kind. Except his two wives."
Morgana said nothing, tilting her head. ’Lukas Valentine... who are you?’
"Are you sure he’s B-rank?" She asked again, looking up at Baldwin.
"Yes, I am." The man replied. "I even felt his aura myself as he fought in the tournament earlier today. I do not believe he has any ways of hiding his true rank."
"I see." Morgana muttered.
She still found it hard to believe Lukas was a new Awakener. Because she’d felt his strength when he bumped into her that day. He was way stronger than he looked. He might even be stronger than Baldwin when it came to physical strength.
Then something occurred to her. Something just as surprising as finding out Lukas was just a random nobody. "You said he had wives?"
Baldwin blinked, before nodding. "Yes, he did. Two, in fact. However, I wasn’t able to get their names. They’re rarely seen without Lukas himself present, and do not really interact with others."
’How did he get himself two wives?’ She wondered. Then she looked up at Baldwin. "Did you find anything on his wives?"
"No, my lady." Baldwin shook his head. "That was the worrying thing. There are no records of them anywhere. It’s almost as if they didn’t exist at all in this city before becoming his wives."
"Which means they could be from somewhere else," she said.
"My thoughts exactly." Baldwin nodded.
"I see."
No matter how she looked at it, she came to a single conclusion. Lukas Valentine was not in any way ordinary. There was just something about him. And if she could figure it out...
She chuckled to herself, glancing at the mask she’d placed on the table. "Don’t get yourself knocked out by someone else, Lukas."
"That job shall fall to me."

Lukas woke up with a pounding headache. The room was quiet around him, but he could still hear hard drumming inside his skull, as if there was a tiny drum band inside, performing their best routine.
He groaned, but as his own sound reached his ears, the drumming intensified.
He resisted the urge to groan again at the pain, but he slowly sat up, clutching his skull.
His eyes passed by a sliver of the sun rays streaming in through the window, and he winced in pain, turning his head away from it.
By the time his vision cleared, he took a slow look around the room.
On the round table were the empty plates from their dinner, along with more bottles than he could count. He frowned at that. He was quite sure they’d had only one glass of wine, so how....
"Oh." He said flatly as he remembered.
He’d joked about how sparse the wine was at a supposed celebration, and Akira seemed to have taken his words personally, always refilling his cup before it could even be empty.
And here they were, all hungover.
Speaking of his wives, he glanced down to either side of him on the bed, seeing they were still fast asleep.
He chuckled quietly to himself, knowing he wasn’t the only one that would be feeling this way when they woke up.
He slowly stood from the bed, a wave of dizziness passing over him. He blinked, before heading to the round table.
His mouth was incredibly dry, and he felt a thirst that he wasn’t sure was natural.
He grabbed the jug on the table, and didn’t even bother with a cup. He simply lifted it up to his mouth and began chugging.
A minute later, he sat down, feeling his Constitution finally kicking in.
The headache slowly faded, and the feeling of nausea in his stomach disappeared.
In less than half an hour, he was already back to normal.
He yawned, heading into the bathroom. He had his bath, exiting as he toweled himself off.
"Damn it."
He heard cursing and he looked up to see both his wives awake. A wide grin appeared on his face, and he began to sing loudly as he entered the room.
Both women winced in pain, with Melody hunching to cover her ears, and Akira grabbing the nearest thing to her and throwing it at him.
He laughed as he caught the candlestick, placing it on the table. "Enjoying the results of your bad decisions, heh?"
Melody shot him a look. "Just give us water, damn you."
He chuckled, pouring a glass of water each for both of them.
They drank, requesting more, and he fulfilled their requests.
"Stop me next time." Akira groaned to Lukas.
"Why should I?" He grinned. "It’s quite fun seeing you like this, you know?"
Akira flopped back on the bed, the fast movement making her wince. "Fuck." She muttered under her breath.
Soon, they were all relatively back to normal. He was already dressed by the time they were ready to hop in the shower.
Akira went first, leaving him with Melody.
"Excited?" She asked.
"About what?"
"Getting into the top thirty-two."
"Nothing is set in stone yet, you know." He chuckled.
"And does that mean you think you won’t get there?"
"Of course not." He scoffed.
She crossed her arms in response. "So why didn’t you just answer my damn question?"
"Sorry." He smiled at the expression on her face. She looked cute. "And to answer your question, I’m looking forward to the final match more than getting into the top thirty-two. Because that’s the day I’ll be getting that [Item]."
They shared a grin.
Soon, Akira returned from the bathroom, and Melody left to take her own bath.
A few minutes later, they were all ready. Lukas locked the door to the room as they left, making their way down to the lobby.
When they exited the hotel, a young man, the same age as Lukas, approached them.
He had brown hair, green eyes, and circular glasses perched on his nose. He grinned as he came closer, stretching his hand towards Lukas.
"Hi. You must be Lukas Valentine. My name is Ansel Potter. Your opponent for today."
