Gacha Harem System

Chapter 59: Baths Before Hugs

Lukas was keenly aware of how he looked as he made his way to the exit.

The soldiers stationed there eyed him warily but said nothing as he passed by them.

He was covered, almost from head to toe in dried blood.

On his last run, his [Blood Armor] had shattered, and with his low reserves of mana, he’d decided to keep fighting without the massive drain that the skill had quickly become.

While he was glad the skill had no upper limits on how much blood he could keep adding to it, the mana cost also increased as the armor grew stronger.

His [Dread Cuirass] had done most of the heavy lifting after he’d dropped the skill, and he’d soon cleared the dungeon.

He opened his system interface, a small smile on his face at what he saw.

[Gacha Harem System]

[Gacha Points: 2400]

[Banners:]

[Wife (2000 Gacha Points)]

[Skills (500 Gacha Points)]

[Item (500 Gacha Points)]

[Mystery box (1000 Gacha Points)]

He smiled at his Gacha Points, a feeling of satisfaction welling up in his chest. He couldn’t help but admit that he was feeling eager. Eager to summon a new wife and get a boost to his stats and skills.

In addition to his first quest, he’d cleared the second one, beating his record and netting himself another three hundred points.

The system had given him a third quest to beat his newest record by at least one minute. Of course he’d failed, and the system had gone quiet since.

Even with that, he’d gotten quite the nice haul. All he needed was a hundred more points and he’d be able to get himself a new skill too.

As he walked through the streets, he realized just how many looks he was getting, before remembering he still had blood covering him.

It wasn’t exactly uncommon to see an Awakener covered in blood, but that didn’t mean they couldn’t stare.

Fortunately, his mana was slowly recovering, so he simply activated [Blood Armor], the blood covering him evaporating into a translucent shell. Then he deactivated the skill, the shell dissipating into nothingness and leaving him free of blood.

He smiled at the clever use of his skill, making his way to the nearby pavilion.

As usual, there was a line. He joined the shortest one, but regretted the decision as it moved much slower than the others.

Even with that, he didn’t join another line because there was no telling if the others would slow down the moment he joined them.

After an unreasonable amount of waiting, it was finally his turn. The transaction moved quickly as he presented everything he had to sell, and it was all calculated.

He kept the payment in his money pouch and began making his way back to the hotel. He looked up to the sky to see that while the sun hadn’t begun setting, it was already evening.

He arrived at a crossroads, pausing as a thought crossed his mind. ’Which way is it to the hotel again?’

He looked this way and that, scratching his head in puzzlement.

After asking for directions and getting lost once, he finally arrived at the hotel. In the lobby, he displayed the token he’d been given and verified his identity before he was allowed to go up to his room.

Once in his room, he peeled off his shirt, the smell of sweat thick around him.

He stepped into the shower, and after a few minutes of letting the warm water loosen his muscles, toweled himself off and pulled on clean clothes.

He’d just sat on the bed when Melody entered, dragging her feet on the floor. She had a tired smile on her face as she entered, shaking her money pouch. "Guess who got a bigger share of loot today?"

"Really?" Lukas rose to his feet, a grin on his face. "What happened? They were blown away by your awesomeness?"

"I wish." She chuckled, before her smile dimmed. "One of the team members was killed by beasts before the [Medic] could get to them. So, we only had to share the loot between four of us instead of five."

"Oh." Lukas blinked.

"But I got more money though." Melody’s grin returned in full force.

Lukas laughed at that, stepping forward to pull her into a hug. She stopped him with a hand, stepping back.

"I’m dirty and sweaty. Let me hop in the bath first before we start giving out hugs."

"And then we have fun?" He wagged his brows suggestively.

"Not an empty stomach we don’t." Melody chuckled, slowly stripping off her armor.

Lukas helped her with it, and before long, she was in the bathroom, the sounds of flowing water reaching him outside.

A few minutes later, Melody was out, her hair and body wrapped in a towel.

He laid there on the bed, hands behind his head and legs crossed as he watched her dress.

There was a light dusting of color on her cheeks as she blushed, still feeling a little bit shy to be naked around him. But he was sure he’d take away that shyness little by little.

When she was dressed, she dragged him off the bed, both of them going downstairs for dinner.

The hotel had a restaurant on the ground floor, so they decided to try it for dinner.

As expected, Melody ordered steak for herself, giggling as she chewed on the succulent meat.

Lukas watched her eat, a smile on his face.

For a moment, he wondered if his new wife would be as fun to with as Melody was. Well, there was no guarantee, but that didn’t matter. Whatever happened, he’d face it the same way he faced everything else. Head on.

"What are you thinking about?" Melody’s voice pulled him out of his thoughts.

He looked up to see her chewing on her food, staring at him with a curious expression.

"I have enough Points for a new wife." He said.

Of course, Melody already knew all about his system. It had been the one that had summoned her after all.

She sat up, immediately interested. "When will you do the summoning?"

He answered immediately. "Tonight."

She said nothing for a moment.

"I see." She finally nodded, a grin appearing on her face. "It’ll be nice to have another woman around here."
