Love Across the Light Years -The Devil CEO Indulges My Lies.

Chapter 305: Was she doing a favor?

The moment those words left his mouth—

Karl paused.

His brows furrowed slightly in confusion, as though he hadn’t even realized what he had just said.

When he turned to look at Adelyn, her eyes were already fixed on him. And something about her gaze felt ... wrong.

For some reason, it felt like it carried a cold warning.

"Sister-in-law ... what’s wrong?" he asked, completely puzzled. "Why are you looking at me like that?"

He glanced around.

It wasn’t just Adelyn staring at him.

Everyone else was looking his way as well.

Even Pier was blinking at him as though there was something he simply couldn’t comprehend.

A dangerous glint flashed across Adelyn’s eyes as she asked quietly, "What did you just say?"

Karl blinked, still completely clueless.

"What did I say?" he repeated. "I just said what was appropriate."

Then, pointing toward Zeke matter-of-factly, he continued,

"Didn’t we just win the bet? Shouldn’t he fulfill the terms he agreed to? How did I say anything wrong?"

He glanced at Zeke again.

"He should just accept his defeat and prepare to crawl between your legs. We cannot go soft on him. Not after how he tried to insult you earlier."

Pier immediately began shaking his head at him, desperately signaling for him to stop talking.

But Karl only frowned harder.

"Does your neck have a problem?" he asked in genuine concern. "Why are you shaking it like you want your skull to fall off your shoulders?"

Pier was dumbfounded.

He wanted his skull to fall off his shoulders?

Was he even serious? He was trying to save him while there was still time.

"Brother Karl, you—"

Before Pier could continue, Adelyn interrupted him.

"You want him to crawl between my legs?"

Karl heard her, and instinctively nodded.

"Yes. Wasn’t that what we agreed on? Him crawling between your le—"

Suddenly ...

He froze.

His pupils dilated.

Only then did he finally realize what he had actually said.

Crawl between her legs?

... He wanted another man to crawl between his sister-in-law’s legs?

Had he gone insane?

Or had he completely forgotten who his brother was?

Allowing another man to do something like that to Old Demon’s wife ...

He must have developed a truly suicidal death wish.

His face instantly turned pale.

He hurriedly slapped his own lips several times.

"No ... no, that’s not what I meant."

Then he whipped around toward Zeke and pointed a warning finger at him.

"You are absolutely not allowed to crawl between my sister-in-law’s legs. Don’t even think about it."

Only his Big Brother would ever be allowed to do that ...

Adelyn pinched the bridge of her nose.

She had intended to let this farce play out until the end.

But suddenly, she felt exhausted.

This brat truly had a talent for saying the most outrageous things with complete sincerity.

Not wanting to drag this on any longer, she looked at Zeke and said flatly, "Since you lost, be a man and honor your word."

She gestured toward Karl.

"Crawl between ... his legs and end this soon. I can’t stay here forever."

She let out a quiet breath.

"I still need to get home."

Her baby must be waiting for her. Thinking of her sitting at home and looking at the door filled her heart with an inexplicable warmth. Now, she wanted nothing but to return as soon as possible.

Karl, on the other hand, nodded vigorously.

Pointing between his own legs, he said, "That’s right. Crawl between my legs."

Then, as though afraid Zeke might misunderstand again, he added,

"Here."

Zeke’s face darkened. His fists clenched so tightly that the veins on the back of his hands bulged.

Yet ...

There was nothing left for him to argue.

In front of everyone present, he slowly stepped forward.

Then ...

He knelt before Karl.

Karl had always been a bully. He loved causing trouble. He loved provoking people. But humiliating someone to this extent ...

That wasn’t something he normally did.

Even today, he wouldn’t have gone this far.

But the moment he remembered what Zeke had wanted to do to his sister-in-law, his expression hardened.

This bastard had actually dared to covet her.

If his Big Brother knew, he could tell what he would do to him.

But Karl knew, compared to whatever his brother would have done, making him crawl between his legs was already showing mercy.

So Karl didn’t stop him.

Instead, he watched coldly as Zeke completed every bit of the humiliation he had brought upon himself.

Once it was over, Karl looked down at him and snorted.

"Don’t forget. The next time you see me, you’ll address me as Master."

A smug grin slowly spread across his face.

"I like my servants to be respectful. And being my servant is exactly waht you have promised."

Zeke’s fingers curled tightly into fists. His eyes were filled with resentment as he glared at Karl.

But Karl remained completely unfazed.

With another dismissive snort, he simply turned toward Adelyn.

"Sister-in-law," he called out softly. "It’s over now."

He smiled brightly.

"Let’s go home."

Adelyn merely looked at him.

There truly was nothing she could do about this troublesome brat.

In the end, she simply nodded.

However—

Just as she turned to leave—

Zeke’s voice rang out behind them.

"How about we make another bet?"

Adelyn stopped. She glanced back at him over her shoulder. Her expression remained calm.

Yet that simple glance gave Zeke hope.

"One more bet," he said.

"Just to prove that your victory wasn’t because of luck, but because you actually deserve it."

He narrowed his eyes.

"Do you dare?"

Karl’s temper exploded immediately.

Without saying another word, he lunged forward and threw a hard punch straight at Zeke’s face.

Bang!

"I haven’t even settled the score for your first bet, and you’re already asking for another one?"

His nose flared in anger.

"You really don’t value your life."

He raised his fist again, ready to hit him once more. Fortunately, Pier quickly grabbed him from behind.

"Brother Karl!"

Zeke wiped the blood from the corner of his lips before glaring back.

"What?" He sneered. "Are you scared you’ll lose this time?"

"You—"

Karl was just about to charge again when Adelyn calmly stepped forward.

"Whether we’d win or lose ..." She looked at Zeke without the slightest ripple in her eyes. "...no one can say for certain."

She paused.

"But one thing I am certain of..." A faint smile curved across her lips. "No matter what the outcome is, I wouldn’t become a sore loser like you."

Zeke ground his teeth so hard they nearly creaked.

"Then do you accept?"

There was still unwillingness in his eyes.

He only wanted one more chance.

One chance to humiliate Karl.

One chance to humiliate this woman.

How could Adelyn fail to see through his thoughts?

She simply looked at him before giving a faint, amused smile.

"Sorry," she said, "Your childish games don’t interest me."

"I’ll pass."

With that, she turned around and calmly walked toward the exit.

Karl shot Zeke one final glare before quickly hurrying after his sister-in-law.

Just as they were about to leave—

Another voice rang out.

The foreign accent in the tone just made every word sound unusually distinct.

"What if I challenge you to a duel?" Steve asked.

"Would you accept?"

Adelyn’s footsteps came to a halt.

Everyone instinctively looked toward her. They expected her to turn around. They expected her to seize this opportunity.

Perhaps ...

To challenge Steve.

Perhaps ...

To prove herself even further.

But—

Adelyn did none of those things.

Without turning around even once, she simply spoke over her shoulder.

"For your sake, I’ll pass."

And with that—

She didn’t linger for another second. Wearing a faint smirk, she calmly walked away.

Behind her, everyone gasped.

"What does she mean by ’for his sake’?" someone asked. "Was she doing Steve Orlow a favor?"
