Infinite Ascension: 100,000x Amplified

Chapter 53: Departure

As they headed back inside, Nova’s mind was already working through implications.

Mother sealed my potential to hide me from powerful forces. But the my awakening broke that seal completely.

He climbed the stairs quietly, not wanting to disturb the household that was already settling into sleep. His own room — small, familiar, the last night he would spend in it — waited at the end of the hall.

I had sensed a dormant bloodline for some time. I assumed it was a side effect of transitioning to a Chaotic Origin Energy Lifeform. But it was never that. It came from my mother’s bloodline, and it’s still in the metamorphosis stage — not fully awakened yet, but no longer sealed.

He lay down on his bed and stared at the ceiling.

The forces she was hiding from might now be able to detect me. If the seal breaking sent out a spiritual signature, they could already be looking.

Three years until the apocalypse. Unknown powerful enemies potentially hunting him. A mother hiding somewhere with knowledge he needed. The timeline had just become more complicated.

He closed his eyes and sank into meditation, his consciousness settling into his spiritual sea while a portion of his awareness maintained passive surveillance of the surrounding space. His senses extended outward through his laws, sweeping the city’s energy currents for anything that didn’t belong.

Nothing.

He held the surveillance for another hour. Still nothing. Either no one was watching, or whoever was watching was doing so through methods entirely beyond his current ability to detect.

He filed the concern and let himself rest.

At some point in the deep hours of the night, a hooded figure materialized from moonlight above the residential district.

It lowered its hood, revealing features that shifted and blurred as if refusing to be properly perceived. Eyes that held depths of ancient knowledge gazed toward the modest house below.

"Interesting," the figure murmured, its voice carrying harmonics that suggested multiple speakers talking in perfect unison. "I finally found you." "The seal she used was unexpectedly completely broken. Seventeen years of careful suppression, undone in an instant."

One hand rose, fingers tracing patterns in the air that left glowing trails of esoteric symbols.

"She hid him well. Even I couldn’t detect the bloodline beneath that seal. But now..."

The symbols pulsed, showing connections — threads of fate, causality and time linking Nova to dozens of potential futures.

"Multiple EX-Rank talents. Divine-Grade cultivation methods. Advancement speed that defies natural law." The figure paused. "I can’t divine the grade of his system. Or this specific timeline’s future."

The shifting features settled briefly into something resembling a smile — whether benevolent or predatory remained unclear.

"And he doesn’t even know what he truly is. What sleeping lineage runs through his veins. What his mother really sacrificed to keep him hidden."

Another gesture, and the symbols collapsed into a single point of brilliant light hovering above the figure’s palm. The light pulsed, showing visions — possible timelines branching into infinite variations.

"In 847 possible futures, humanity on this planet falls completely. In 132 futures, scattered survivors flee to other human worlds. In 19 futures, a desperate last stand achieves partial victory."

The figure’s voice grew softer. "But in one future — just one — a young man with golden eyes stands before the God-Tier entity and doesn’t fall. In that single timeline, humanity survives. But I can’t see what happens after that. It’s too foggy."

The light intensified briefly, showing an image: Nova, older, wreathed in power that made reality itself tremble, facing something so vast and terrible it couldn’t be properly depicted.

"This brat is even more handsome than me."

The figure closed its hand, extinguishing the light.

"The question is whether this timeline is that one. Whether he can grow fast enough, strong enough, to become what that single future requires."

It began dissolving back into moonlight.

"I suppose I’ll watch and see. After all..." A pause. "He is my nephew. I’ve been waiting for this moment for seventeen years. A few more years to see how it ends won’t matter."

The last wisps of darkness faded, leaving the night sky empty and silent.

Nova felt nothing. Sensed nothing. Detected nothing.

The figure had not used Space Law to move and observe. It had used something categorically beyond that — Space Origin Law, a principle so fundamental it operated at the layer beneath what laws could perceive. The gap between Law and Origin Law was larger than the gap between Intents, Laws, Rules, and Principles altogether. Nova’s Space Law at 45% comprehension was a candle attempting to perceive the sun that had created it.

Note: Intents - Laws - Rules - Principles- Origin Laws.

He slept, unaware that he had been observed, his surveillance detecting only the ordinary energy currents of a city at rest.

[Author’s Note: Sharp-eyed readers may have noticed a discrepancy — in Chapter 30, Nova’s level was listed as LV8 after the dungeon run, but the EXP from 3,428 kills should have pushed him to Tier 2 advancement. This was an error on my part. The correct outcome is that Nova reached Tier 2 during the dungeon, which is addressed in this Chapter. Apologies for the inconsistency!]

Next Day — Celestial Heights Residence #47

The move was exactly as chaotic and exactly as wonderful as Nova had expected.

The food provisions arrived at 7 AM as scheduled, Tobias Frostmeat’s refrigerated transport containers pulling up to the mansion’s service entrance while the family was still eating breakfast. Aunt Mira spent forty minutes organizing the mansion’s refrigerated storage with the focused energy of someone who had been given a professional kitchen for the first time and intended to do it justice.

The furniture deliveries followed. Then the wardrobes, which produced a reaction from Lyanna that the neighbors probably heard. Then the four vehicles at 9 AM, sitting in the underground garage in a row, each one gleaming under the garage’s overhead lights.

Thorne stood in front of the luxury sedan for a long moment and said nothing.

Then he sat in the driver’s seat, adjusted it for his proportions, and drove it around the underground garage’s circular path twice before parking it with military precision and getting out.

"Good handling," he said.

That was all. But his posture had shifted.

By evening the family had settled. Lyanna had claimed the third-floor bedroom with the best city view and was already rearranging the furniture to her specifications. Aunt Mira and Uncle Torven had found each other in the library and were quietly discussing which sections to fill first. Thorne had completed his security assessment of the mansion’s formations and declared them adequate, which from him was high praise.

Nova sat in his own new bedroom — third floor, floor-to-ceiling windows, mostly empty — and opened his status panel.

[Status Panel]

[Character: Nova Stern][Race: Human (Chaotic Origin Energy Lifeform — Peak Stage 2)][Age: 17][Level: LV8 — Tier 2 Warrior]

[Author’s Note: As mentioned above — Nova crossed into Tier 2 during the dungeon run in Chapter 30. The LV8 classification carries forward from that Chapter with the Tier 2 correction applied.]

His attention moved to the upgrade notification that had been waiting since the Tier 2 advancement.

Nova watched the needle spin through his awareness.

He had thought carefully about what he hoped it would land on. His Absolute Insight was Divine-Tier — the highest classification he had encountered — but Divine-Tier was not a ceiling, it was a classification. A 100,000x amplification applied to his comprehension ability would produce something beyond Divine-Tier, something with no existing name in the current era’s taxonomy. It would provide sustainable exponential growth across every aspect of his path. Everything else — cultivation, techniques, talents, physiques — was built on the foundation of understanding. Amplify understanding and every other system benefited automatically.

More practically: systems that could be given could potentially be taken away. But knowledge genuinely comprehended could not be removed. If the Absolute Insight were somehow lost tomorrow, a 100,000x amplified version would have already deposited its gains permanently into his actual cognitive architecture.

He watched the needle.

Land on Absolute Insight, he thought. Please.

The needle slowed.

It passed over his cultivation method, his physical stats, his Primordial Emberwood Concept, his Spatial Control—

It landed.

[Target selected: Absolute Insight (Divine-Tier)]

[Amplification magnitude: 100,000x]

Nova exhaled once.

Thank you Author.

Then the universe moved.

The change started in his consciousness — not his body, not his spiritual sea, but in the fundamental substrate of awareness itself.

His perception exploded outward, expanding from its normal range to encompass—

Everything.

For a fraction of a second, he experienced something that had no adequate name. Every law, every principle, every truth of existence laid bare before his suddenly transcendent awareness. The fundamental equations governing reality itself became visible, comprehensible, obvious.

Then the information density exceeded what his current mental architecture could process, and his consciousness began its emergency evolution.

A spatial crack manifested in the air above his seated form — a fracture in dimensional barriers, appearing spontaneously as the upgrade system accessed something beyond the mortal realm. The crack was small initially, no larger than a fingernail, glowing with colors that human eyes weren’t designed to perceive.

From that crack, pure origin essence began flowing.

Not qi. Not mana. Not any energy source available within this universe’s normal operation.

Origin essence — the primordial substrate from which all other forms of energy and matter derived. The fundamental stuff of creation itself, undifferentiated and infinitely potent.

The essence poured into his consciousness first, his mind, soul, and spirit drawn into transformation. His awareness, already expanded beyond normal limits, began undergoing metamorphosis at the conceptual level.

It feels like...

His thoughts fragmented as his mental processes restructured themselves.

...like being remade from the foundation upward.

Safe. Protected. Nurtured.

Like being held.
