As an Uchiha I became the Jinchuriki of Senju Tobirama

Chapter 400 400: Betrayal, Tears, and Kisses

"Go on," Kazuki said with interest, nodding slightly.

"And during that time together… Obito… Obito made me feel, for the first time, the joy and fulfillment of simply existing as a person…"

"Even when I deceived him again and again, Obito always forgave me… Even back on that battlefield against the Ōtsutsuki—my lord saw it for himself—"

"Even when he needed power, even when he had to take over Isshiki's body to fight, he still didn't think of himself first. He thought only of rescuing me, even giving me his precious life force and ocular power…"

In Black Zetsu's eyes, a pair of Kamui Mangekyō appeared, glimmering faintly.

"I questioned my own heart… Compared to saving Kaguya, I realized I was even more unwilling to lose Obito… At this point, I know I can no longer save Kaguya, who is in your hands. You, as a reborn Ōtsutsuki, will eventually absorb her entirely…"

Black Zetsu lowered its voice and said: "I also know that you haven't fully assimilated Kaguya yet, so I can still sense your position somewhat through the chakra resonance between us… I know the weak points in Kaguya's heart. I can tell you all of them—they'll help you destroy her completely…"

"All I ask is that you help me save Obito!"

With a loud thump, Black Zetsu slammed its head against the ground. The crisp sound rang out, a testament to the hardness of Yin-Yang Release creations.

"…Is that so?"

Kazuki nodded thoughtfully. "So what you're saying is—the bond between you and Obito has surpassed your loyalty to Kaguya?"

Black Zetsu's eyes froze for a moment.

It knew that Kazuki wasn't the only one watching it now—Kaguya, too, was observing in silence…

But Kazuki's soul-piercing question was one it could not ignore.

The performance was approaching its final act. And Kazuki's summary was both the climax and the curtain call.

"…You're right. I no longer care about Kaguya. All I want is for Obito to live. No matter what it takes, no matter the cost—if sacrificing Kaguya means saving him, then so be it!"

Kazuki's gaze flickered as he silently recorded the moment using genjutsu.

Maybe someday, he thought, he could show this precious memory to Obito—something like a very special gift.

"I understand."

With a flick of his fingers, a stream of chakra shot out from Kazuki and swiftly entered Black Zetsu's body.

"Go back and wait for word," Kazuki said, waving his hand. "When I need you, I'll contact you."

As he waved, Kazuki subtly gave Black Zetsu a small wink.

Black Zetsu instantly understood—Kazuki was telling it that the performance had been a success.

"I'll await your summons at all times."

Black Zetsu lowered its head. "Rest assured—what I've provided will allow you to break through Kaguya's resistance quickly and effectively…"

With that, the Kamui Mangekyō in Black Zetsu's eyes flashed, and it disappeared.

"No need for the Mayfly Technique anymore, huh? Got yourself some Mangekyō from your little boyfriend and suddenly you think you're hot shit!" Kaguya spat venomously, her fury teetering on madness. Thıs content belongs to 𝕟𝕠𝕧𝕖𝕝·𝕗𝕚𝕣𝕖·𝕟𝕖𝕥

She understood now.

That genderless thing—Black Zetsu—had somehow awakened its feminine side just from spending time with a Uchiha boy!

And now, it had completely turned its back on her—its mother—throwing its loyalty to the wind!

Utterly outrageous!

"Kaguya," Kazuki suddenly appeared before her. His striking features showed a trace of weariness. "Is there anything you want to say to me now?"

The twisted rage on Kaguya's face from just moments ago—fueled by her fury toward Black Zetsu—was hastily reined in. She forced herself to appear calm and composed in front of Kazuki.

But even though she managed to control her expression, she didn't know what to say…

Black Zetsu… was the perfect example of loyalty turned betrayal.

Who would've thought that a creature created through Yin-Yang Release could, through prolonged companionship, develop human-like emotions—and abandon the very progenitor of chakra?

For a moment, Kaguya was at a loss before Kazuki, and two bitter tears silently slid down her cheeks.

A flood of thoughts surged through her mind all at once.

She thought of the Sage of Six Paths and Ōtsutsuki Hamura—another pair of brothers who had betrayed her back then, all for the sake of some foolish mortals…

Was she truly fated to live a life of betrayal?

Just when she had finally met someone she could entrust everything to—Kazuki—that trust had been tainted from the start, planted with seeds of suspicion that had now exploded, leaving no room for recovery.

"Kaguya, don't be sad…"

To her surprise, Kazuki didn't mock her, nor did he deliver some cruel final judgment on a traitor.

Instead, just as he had done in the past—when there had been no barriers between them—he approached gently, speaking in a soft and soothing voice: "This world… it's just like that. And honestly, I get it. You lied to me at first, but I was the one who mistakenly sealed you away…"

"It's only natural that you'd be wary of me."

Kazuki reached out and naturally took her hand in his.

"And later, when you didn't explain things to me… I imagine you were still hesitating, right? I know you didn't mean to hide it from me."

"Maybe you wanted to tell me a long time ago… but every day we spent together was so joyful. You didn't want to ruin that peace. So you kept delaying it, didn't you?"

Kaguya felt as if she were dreaming, feeling her hand being gently held by Kazuki's.

How could this be real?

A wave of overwhelming joy surged through her, coursing through her very bones—an ecstasy so intense it felt as though she were floating on clouds, terrified that it might all just be an illusion.

Why had the once cold and indifferent Kazuki suddenly returned to this gentle, tender state?

And why did every single word he spoke strike straight into Kaguya's heart?

Everything Kazuki said… was exactly what Kaguya had always wanted to say, but never had the chance to express.

She had never intended to deceive Kazuki…

"Kazuki… Kazuki!"

Kaguya had so many things she wanted to say, but at this moment, no amount of words could express the storm of emotions surging inside her. The only thing she could do was call out the name of the one she loved.

She threw her arms around him tightly, embracing Kazuki's firm body. Her tear-filled eyes rubbed against his strong chest, while her nose greedily—yet subtly—breathed in the scent of comfort and love.

Just moments ago, she'd believed that Black Zetsu's betrayal marked the beginning of an endless descent into hell.

And yet, in the blink of an eye, everything had shifted—like a sudden turn in a dream—and she had reconciled with Kazuki.

The whiplash of it all made her emotions swing like a pendulum. Her heart rode a rollercoaster of panic, fury, thrill, and joy—twisting and reversing so wildly it nearly knocked the breath out of her.

In the event of your death, you can naturally resurrect through the imprint.

As the long-awaited mechanical voice echoed in his mind, Kazuki wrapped his arms around Kaguya in return, gently stroking her back.

"Don't cry," he murmured softly. "It's over now. Everything's over…"

Kaguya tried her best to hold back her emotions, but the moment she heard his comforting words, she only cried harder.

On her lower abdomen, a faint, glowing imprint shimmered briefly—the characters of Kazuki's name glowing in soft violet before vanishing.

And just as he had told Black Zetsu, Kazuki didn't take this opportunity to strike at Kaguya's heart by weaponizing her betrayal or loyalty.

He didn't use this moment to punish her.

He simply embraced her.

Instead, he chose to do the opposite.

At the very moment Kaguya was at her lowest—her saddest, angriest, most helpless and lost—Kazuki chose to forgive her.

From Kazuki's perspective—

There had always been many who had betrayed Kaguya, many who had been cruel to her. Whether it was the harsh Ōtsutsuki clan or her own sons, the Sage of Six Paths and Hamura...

They had all turned against her.

But those who had truly accepted Kaguya—genuinely embraced her—there had never been a single one.

No one but Kazuki.

And so, he didn't give up on this path. Instead, he used the emotional whiplash brought on by Black Zetsu's betrayal to make a stunning comeback—rising to the absolute peak of Kaguya's heart.

"Kazuki… why? Why…"

Kaguya choked through her sobs, her tear-filled eyes gazing up at him. Her voice was hoarse, trembling.

"Why did you suddenly forgive me…?"

Kazuki let out a soft sigh and gently wiped the tears from her face.

Staring at that pale, snow-like complexion, he leaned down and placed a kiss on her eyelid.

"When I saw you fall into rage and despair over Black Zetsu's betrayal… when I saw your fear and confusion… my heart shattered with you."

Kazuki looked at her—stunned, cheeks now burning red—and said softly: "That's how I truly feel."

"Forget betrayal. Forget loyalty. If my heart tells me that I love you…"

"Then I don't want to get lost in obsessive reasoning. I believe I didn't choose wrong—and you've given me the confidence to believe that."

He cupped her face gently in his hands.

"I'm sorry, Kaguya… for all the pain I—"

But before the words "put you through" could leave his mouth, Kaguya's lips pressed against his, silencing him.

...

Meanwhile, Black Zetsu, already far from the scene, let out a long, guilt-ridden sigh.

Right about now… Kaguya was probably being "interrogated" by Kazuki, wasn't she?

But… it couldn't be helped.

After all, this was all part of the plan...
