Black Zetsu lowered its head. "Rest assured—what I've provided will allow you to break through Kaguya's resistance quickly and effectively…"

With that, the Kamui Mangekyō in Black Zetsu's eyes flashed, and it disappeared.

Kazuki let out a soft sigh and gently wiped the tears from her face.

Staring at that pale, snow-like complexion, he leaned down and placed a kiss on her eyelid.

"When I saw you fall into rage and despair over Black Zetsu's betrayal… when I saw your fear and confusion… my heart shattered with you."

Kazuki looked at her—stunned, cheeks now burning red—and said softly: "That's how I truly feel."

"Forget betrayal. Forget loyalty. If my heart tells me that I love you…"

"Then I don't want to get lost in obsessive reasoning. I believe I didn't choose wrong—and you've given me the confidence to believe that."

He cupped her face gently in his hands.

"I'm sorry, Kaguya… for all the pain I—"

But before the words "put you through" could leave his mouth, Kaguya's lips pressed against his, silencing him.

Meanwhile, Black Zetsu, already far from the scene, let out a long, guilt-ridden sigh.

Right about now… Kaguya was probably being "interrogated" by Kazuki, wasn't she?

But… it couldn't be helped.
