Chapter 47: Ch-47: Meeting (1)
Amber’s eyes widened in shock as she eyed the giant mechs which were fighting monsters. Her pupils shrank to the size of pinpricks when she saw the power of the mechs and felt her heart tremble.
"That’s the Silvernum Crest," Amber said in a low voice as she narrowed her eyes at the mech and saw a silver dragon symbol on it.
’Those bastards of the Light family... why didn’t they tell us that the Silvernum family possesses such terrifying alien weapons?’ Amber clenched her fist as a trace of killing intent appeared on her face. The maids and guards near her shuddered in fear. They were closest to Amber and were more loyal to her than the count, as they knew what kind of sadistic personality she had.
With a gloomy look, she went back to the carriage and dragged out the injured Andrew by the neck and tossed him onto the ground.
"Ugh... cough!"
Andrew started coughing violently as he almost choked due to the lack of air and looked at Amber with resentment. Just wait—once we get married, I am going to turn you into a bitch who can only moan and whimper under me.
He only had this thought in his head but did not dare even meet her eyes, as he knew she—and even the normal guards—were much stronger than him.
"Hey, why didn’t you tell us that your cousin possesses such terrifying weapons?" Amber asked in a cold voice, which made Andrew look at her with confusion.
"What are you talking about?" Andrew asked in genuine confusion.
"Look over there," Amber pointed, and at the same time another explosion rang out.
Boom!
"Huh?" Andrew turned toward the explosion, and his jaw dropped when he saw the mechs for the first time. "What the hell are these? When did the Silvernums have these?"
Bang!
"Ugh!" Andrew spat a mouthful of blood when Amber kicked him in the chest and said, "Tch, useless."
"Sophie, as the captain of my personal troops, you should have discerning eyes. Tell me—how many soldiers would it take to destroy one of these... machines?" Amber said as she pointed toward a female knight.
The knight walked forward and looked at the mech with a solemn gaze.
She silently observed the mechs. Some of them were launching missiles coated with mana, causing large explosions that swallowed a large number of monsters, while raining down bullets made of pure mana. Others were cleaving monsters left and right with giant swords whose hilts were made of some kind of foreign metal, while the blades were made of pure mana, along with shields of mana.
Her expression turned grim when she saw it had absorbed powerful attacks from a number of monsters and was still unscathed.
"So?" Amber asked calmly as she watched Sophie analyzing the fight.
"First of all, I can sense the presence of Tier 0 humans within the mechanical creations, and they seem to be operating them..." she paused before saying in a grim tone, "Probably, if we owned it, it would take at least 50 soldiers at Tier 0, and if we didn’t plan beforehand, it would cost more than 50 soldiers."
Hearing her analysis, Amber’s expression turned solemn.
"From this analysis, it seems whoever made this has managed to combine magic and technology together, which should not be possible," Amber said, which caused everyone to look at her with wide eyes.
"Could it be the heir of the Silvernum Barony? I heard he had awakened a Warlock Bloodline—this could be due to a Warlock ability," Sophie said.
"We will find out. Let’s go there and ask them," Amber said, walking toward the Silvernum camp, with Sophie completely ignoring the injured Andrew.
"These mechs are truly something. What the Lord created is on another level. Just within a few hours, we have cleared 5 km worth of land and added it to the Silvernum territory," Edward said with awe as he watched the mechs effortlessly slaughtering the monsters. If it had been just the troops, it would have taken far more time, and there would have been casualties.
"Hmm?" Edward frowned when he sensed two foreign presences entering their territory. He turned and saw two beautiful women approaching him, but his expression changed when he saw the symbol on the armor of the female knight.
"Oreburgh County... what are they doing here?" Edward frowned, but then regained his professional butler composure and greeted them.
"Excuse me, I am the butler of the Silvernum Household. May I ask what business the Oreburgh County has here, and who the young lady is?" Edward asked in a professional tone, looking at the knight. He could tell the other woman, who was dressed like a noble, was no ordinary person.
As soon as Edward finished speaking, both the women stopped, and Sophie walked forward and said, "I am the captain and personal knight of the young miss of Oreburgh County, and before you stands the heir of Oreburgh County, Amber Oreburgh."
"!!!" Edward’s eyes twitched when he heard this and looked at Amber and thought, ’Isn’t this the woman who was supposed to be the fiancée of those Light Barony bastards?’
Edward did not have a good impression of Amber, as according to Victor, his cousin and uncle were responsible for his kidnapping, and this young woman was the fiancée of his cousin. So he did not have any goodwill toward her and thought, ’Damn, but this woman sure is beautiful. No wonder she is ranked as one of the most beautiful women in the Kingdom. But how did that bastard get her? She would look better with Lord Victor’
Edward kept a poker face and bowed his head. "Welcome, Miss Amber, to the Silvernum Barony."
Amber simply eyed him indifferently and asked with a sweet smile, "Edward, can you tell me what these machines are and who made them?"
Amber asked, and Edward narrowed his eyes and thought, Well, the Young Lord did say he had no intention of hiding his powers, and even if he tried, it would spread anyway. Might as well just hype him up.
