Chapter 203: Two Exam Papers
Mr. Gu led his wife and two children out of their room, only to find Aunt Song sitting on the floor, whimpering softly.
The arrogant man and woman were now standing on either side of her, at a loss as they tried to comfort her.
Mrs. Gu had been furious, but seeing this scene, she was suddenly at a loss. "Jiaojiao, what are they trying to do?"
"I don’t know. Dad, Mom, Eldest Brother, you guys go on ahead. I’ll go see what’s going on."
Gu Jiaojiao’s tone was calm, but her dark eyes instantly turned cold, like an icy blade aimed straight at Aunt Song.
Watching Aunt Song, a strange anger suddenly welled up inside her.
A raging fire burned within her. ’Is Aunt Song trying to throw a tantrum and guilt-trip me?’
’Impossible. Absolutely not. Even if she gets on her knees and begs, I’ll ignore her completely!’
She had always hated manipulative people the most. If Aunt Song hadn’t been making such a scene...
...perhaps she would have considered Song Zijie’s feelings and not held such a grudge against Miss Song.
Gu Jiaojiao wasn’t so petty as to refuse to treat a patient; at most, she just didn’t want to deal with the patient’s family.

Aunt Song moved with surprising speed, breaking free from her daughter and son-in-law’s grasp and darting into the room alone.
But Gu Jiaojiao still caught the flash of fear and regret in her eyes.
She was a bit confused. ’How could the person who was just rolling on the ground a moment ago become so frightened in an instant?’
’Could it be that Aunt Song wasn’t putting on a show for me, but was genuinely afraid that I wouldn’t treat Song Zijie and his sister?’
Considering this possibility, Gu Jiaojiao didn’t have time to ponder why Aunt Song was acting this way and quickly chased after her.
"Aunt Song, what’s wrong?"
Song Lina stopped, turning to look at Gu Jiaojiao with a complicated expression, her demeanor somewhat awkward.
"Jiaojiao... I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have treated you with that attitude. I’m begging you, please don’t tell your master."
"Well, well, so Miss Song knows how to apologize? Are you sincere?" Mrs. Gu said sarcastically.
How could she let her daughter come here alone? She had hurried to catch up with Gu Jiaojiao.
"I am sincerely apologizing to Gu Jiaojiao." Song Lina’s previous arrogant demeanor was gone.
"Then why were you targeting a girl several years younger than you before?" Mr. Gu questioned Song Lina.
"Hmph! Are you all deliberately putting on a show for our Jiaojiao to see, trying to force her to forgive you?"
Mrs. Gu might not have thought it through before. When she saw Second Madam Song crying, she had even wanted to persuade her own daughter to forgive her!
Her daughter’s anger and her husband’s questioning made Mrs. Gu understand instantly, so she let out a cold snort.
"No, really, we’re not. My mom was crying her heart out just now. It wasn’t an act. She’s afraid Divine Doctor Su Gu won’t treat my younger brother and sister."
Song Lina explained with lingering fear. Her mother had truly been ready to disown her just now, her words filled with blame.
Gu Jiaojiao raised an eyebrow. "I forgive you. I won’t tell my master about you targeting me."
"Then I’ll go tell my mom. Gu Jiaojiao... I’m sorry. I wasn’t specifically targeting you, it’s just my personality is..."
"Forget it. I don’t care. You’re just someone with an overinflated sense of self, who thinks she’s superior to everyone else all the time."
With that, Gu Jiaojiao turned and left without a second glance.
Mr. Gu followed his daughter with a deadpan expression, while Mrs. Gu shot Song Lina one last fierce glare.
Song Lina’s husband rubbed his nose, staring dazedly at Gu Jiaojiao’s graceful and charming retreating figure.
As Gu Jiaojiao and her family reached the courtyard gate, they saw Gao Xiangming opening the passenger door, about to help Su Shuochi out of the car.
"Su Shuochi, don’t get out. We’re going home to eat. I still think Su Mama’s cooking is the best."
"Alright. Gao Xiangming, you guys head back first. Get things settled at home, then bring the people you need to invite over quickly."
"Su, Young Mistress, we’ll be leaving then," Gao Xiangming said respectfully.
"Okay, you guys go eat at a restaurant before you leave. You can get reimbursed by me later. We’re going home to eat now."
After speaking, Gu Jiaojiao got into the driver’s seat. Mr. Gu, Mrs. Gu, and Eldest Brother Gu sat in the back again.
Once the exam was over tomorrow, Gu Jiaojiao would need to leave the compound frequently, so she decided not to put the car back into her dimensional space.
Everyone in the compound, including Dong Qihua, thought it was a car Su Shuochi had borrowed from a friend.
As soon as Gu Jiaojiao finished her exam, Divine Doctor Jiang started pestering her. Helpless, Gu Jiaojiao had no choice but to take him along to see Song Zijie.
Meanwhile, a tempest was brewing in Qing City’s education circle. Professor Fang stared in disbelief at two exam papers, both bearing the name Gu Jiaojiao.
She put on her reading glasses and meticulously examined both test papers.
On one set of papers, the handwriting was sloppy, and all the major math problems were left blank.
The Chinese language essay was a complete mess, utterly incoherent, and for the English multiple-choice section, every answer was marked ’A’.
On the other set, the answers were filled out diligently, especially on the advanced mathematics paper.
The corresponding calculations for nearly every problem could be found on the scratch paper, and the handwriting was identical to that of the high-scoring essay.
Professor Fang’s expression immediately soured. She had always despised petty people who lacked real ability and resorted to such insidious, underhanded tricks.
Professor Fang was the chief inspector for this year’s college entrance exam inspection team. She immediately called a meeting with all the team members.
The topic was how to handle the discovery of two exam papers with the same name, student ID, and exam admission ticket number.
A minority of the inspectors suggested they should handle the matter conservatively.
The conservative approach would be to nullify Gu Jiaojiao’s exam results for this year and have her retake it next year.
But Professor Fang frowned at this. "What if this were your child? Would you still apply such an ambiguous principle, one that would rather punish the innocent than let the guilty go free?"
The office immediately fell silent. Professor Fang’s son didn’t understand why his mother wanted to make an exception to help Gu Jiaojiao this time.
However, he wouldn’t speak out against it. Putting himself in that position, he felt his mother had a very good point.
Professor Fang stated bluntly, "This matter must be investigated thoroughly and carefully. We are the college entrance exam inspection team. Our guiding principle is fairness and justice."
"We cannot allow someone who dreams of taking a dishonest path to pass through the gateway of the college entrance exam."
"Nor can we allow a diligent, down-to-earth student to be wrongly accused. Understand?"
Everyone nodded, convinced by Professor Fang’s approach. And so, the investigation began.
They soon discovered that a student from Class One of the third year, Sheng Yueyue, had not turned in her exam paper. However, the handwriting on this fraudulent paper didn’t match her usual script.
For the time being, Professor Fang and the others couldn’t definitively conclude that Sheng Yueyue was the culprit.
In truth, Sheng Yueyue’s methods weren’t particularly clever. Perhaps she was just brazenly confident.
She had brazenly written Gu Jiaojiao’s name and student ID, unafraid of being exposed—after all, she wasn’t going to get a good score anyway.
