Chapter 214: Trap
"Sis, aren’t we heading to the execution grounds? This doesn’t seem to be the right way!"
Ye Yunfeng looked from side to side.
"Isn’t this the way to the Han Family’s home?"
Ye Chutang nodded lightly. "A life is on the line. Of course, we should check on the Han Family first."
Realization dawned on Ye Yunfeng. "Sis, are you worried about Su Pei’er?"
Su Pei’er was hemorrhaging badly yesterday. Her condition was critical. If Ye Chutang hadn’t been there, she would have already lost her life.
"But the Princely Heir’s men are standing guard there, aren’t they? There shouldn’t be any issues."
When they left yesterday, it looked like they had already called for a physician.
A faint smile touched Ye Chutang’s lips. "I won’t be at ease until I see for myself."
Ye Yunfeng didn’t question it and nodded.

A chill tinged the autumn wind, sending yellowed leaves spiraling to the ground. The streets and alleys were exceptionally deserted.
A massive fire the previous night had burned the sprawling Han Family estate to the ground.
From a distance, all that remained was a stretch of charred ruins.
Ye Yunfeng couldn’t help but click his tongue. "This fire was truly something else. It’s even worse than—"
’Even more terrifying than the fire at Fengling Lane!’
Seeing the siblings arrive, the guards at the entrance hurried to bow.
"Miss Ye, Fourth Young Master Ye."
Ye Chutang explained her purpose, and the guards immediately stepped aside respectfully. "The patient is inside. Please, go right in."
Others were not allowed inside, but Ye Chutang was an exception. After all, she was the one who had saved the patient.
Ye Chutang thanked them, told Ye Yunfeng to wait outside, then gathered her skirts, and pushed the door open to enter.
The door swung shut behind her.
Ye Yunfeng leaned against the wall, waiting listlessly.
However, just a moment later, a woman’s panicked scream erupted from inside the room.
"AHHH—!"
It was followed by the CLATTER of something crashing to the floor.
Ye Yunfeng’s expression changed instantly. "Sis!"
He lunged forward, covering the distance in just a few large strides!
The guards on duty were startled by the commotion and rushed forward as well!
"What’s going on!?"
Ye Yunfeng was the fastest. Overtaking the guards, he was the first to reach the door and viciously kicked it open!
BANG—!
"Sis!"
He charged inside without hesitation, and the others quickly followed.
But before they could follow him in, they saw Ye Yunfeng backing out of the room, step by step, with his hands raised and his back to the door.
A sharp, gleaming dagger came into view.
Han Yao, who should have been unconscious, was holding Ye Chutang hostage, forcing her out one step at a time!
One of his hands was clamped around Ye Chutang’s neck while the other gripped the dagger, his eyes filled with a sinister darkness.
Everyone was stunned. Han Yao was awake!?
Ye Yunfeng tensed instantly, his eyes locked on the scene before him.
"Han Yao! Are you insane!"
From his vantage point, he could see Su Pei’er and a young maidservant collapsed unconscious on the floor inside.
’Han Yao must have woken up sometime, knocked those two out, and then taken Sis hostage when she wasn’t looking!’
Han Yao’s lips twisted into a cold sneer, unable to conceal the terrifying, repressed madness radiating from him.
"Go get Shen Yanchuan! I have something to say to him!"
Everyone exchanged bewildered glances.
No one had expected him to make such a demand!
Her own injuries had yet to heal, and now she was at his mercy. The color had drained from her lips, but her eyes showed not a hint of panic.
She gave Ye Yunfeng a reassuring look. Taking a shallow breath, she managed to speak. "Han Yao, whatever you have to say, you can say it to me—"
