My Second Marriage with the Mafia Kingpin

Chapter 143: Future Purposes

There was no way Ashley had found a spot for Dominion that quickly. Lukas and everyone—including their associates, engineers, and consultants—had already checked.

They hadn’t found this place at all.

Or even if they had, there had to be a catch. They simply couldn’t accept that a group as thorough as them would miss something like this.

With that, the people who had come to help Lucian and Dominion relocate focused their research on one specific area.

The very place Ashley had pointed out.

The results?

"How did she find this place in such a short time?" Gustav whispered as he stood behind one of the consultants surveying the area through satellite maps.

Just as Ashley had said, it was ideal for Dominion. Not only was it close to the school, but it could also house the entire group moving with them. There were nearby areas where they could conceal their armory, and in emergencies, there were open spaces where a chopper could land.

Sure, buying it would be expensive, but it was almost equivalent to renting an entire hotel or condominium.

"Lukas," Gustav called, whipping his head toward him as Lukas returned from a call. "It’s not for sale, is it?"

Deep down, none of them believed this could be perfect. There had to be a problem.

Lukas stopped in his tracks, confusion written all over his face. His gaze swept across the expectant eyes staring back at him. Their expressions told him they had already verified everything.

He gulped before meeting Gustav’s gaze. "I just spoke to the owner. He’s open to negotiations."

"Is there really no catch?" Gustav pressed. "Everything’s perfect?"

Silence answered him, but that silence was enough.

Still, one thought echoed in all their minds:

How? How did she find this place so quickly?

[Lucian’s Office]

Lucian looked at Ashley, who sat comfortably beside him on the couch, enjoying tea and snacks. Genuine curiosity flickered in his eyes. He was impressed, but more than that, he was intrigued.

It felt almost impossible.

"Hmm?" Ashley hummed, turning to him. "You’re not drinking your tea. Don’t you like it?"

A quiet exhale escaped him as he reached for the cup. "How did you know?"

The question slipped from his lips as he leaned back, casting her a sidelong glance.

"Know what? Ah—the location?" She tilted her head, smiling. "I’ve been looking into one ever since I remembered Primo would be going to boarding school."

But in truth, Ashley hadn’t needed to spend time searching. Her memories from her previous life lived rent-free in her head. All she had to do was check the location once and confirm what she already knew.

In the past, Primo had gone to boarding school and ended up getting abducted.

Of course, Dominion had managed to rescue him after paying a hefty sum. But later, they discovered that Primo had been kept closer than they ever imagined.

Yes, he had been hidden in that unused land—a place Dominion had already checked, yet failed to find him. All because of the area’s structure.

Not to mention, it later became one of Dominion’s enemies’ hideouts.

Ashley didn’t know every detail, but what she knew was enough to give Dominion a geographical advantage this time.

Still, she couldn’t tell Lucian any of that.

Ashley smiled sweetly, placing a cupcake on his plate. "You should eat some snacks too."

"I see," he murmured, taking a sip of tea. Then, he glanced at her again as she casually chewed on her snack.

"Don’t worry," she joked, finishing her tea as she stood up. "I didn’t look for it because I was planning to escape and hide."

A light chuckle slipped from her lips as she sauntered to the couch across from him, stopping behind it.

"If I ever want to leave, I’d ask you nicely and hope you’d agree."

Ashley winked, throwing the comment casually before walking out, humming to herself.

Lucian frowned as he watched her figure disappear. Even after she stepped out, his gaze lingered on the door.

The corners of his lips turned downward, clearly displeased with how recklessly she had said that.

"That means... she still wants to leave?" he concluded, tilting his head slightly.

He recalled her playful smile, the way she had skipped away as if she hadn’t just dropped something heavy. His frown deepened as he exhaled slowly.

Later that evening...

Nolan yawned as he made his way to the kitchen, already dressed in his pajamas. The lights were dim, but enough for him to see clearly. He grabbed a glass and poured himself some water.

Just as Nolan was chugging it down, he nearly choked when a familiar voice echoed in the quiet.

"Pack luggage for Primo and me. And yours as well."

Nolan coughed violently, water nearly going down the wrong way. He turned toward the voice and found Lucian standing at the kitchen entrance.

"Master?" Nolan stammered. "What do you need again?"

"Pack luggage for Primo and me."

Confusion spread across Nolan’s face. He tried to make sense of it, but nothing clicked.

"Master, I’ve already packed your things. Everything will be ready once you move out," Nolan explained, assuming Lucian meant their relocation. "Is there anything specific you’d like me to include?"

"Not that," Lucian clicked his tongue faintly, clearly irritated. He then looked at Nolan again. "I want a separate set. Like emergency luggage."

Nolan’s confusion only deepened. Now it was clear Lucian wasn’t referring to their current plans.

"Uh... Master, I don’t understand. What is this for?"

"..." Lucian paused before answering, "For future purposes."

With that, he turned and left.

Nolan remained standing there, completely baffled.

"Future..." he muttered. "...purposes? For what?"

Meanwhile...

Lukas stood idly on his balcony, one arm resting against the railing as he held a glass of whiskey. His phone was pressed to his ear.

"Don’t worry too much, Nikki," he said calmly. "Just finish what you’re doing and come back. That woman is going to ruin Dominion."

His expression hardened. "Just come back... as soon as possible."

From the other end, Nikki chuckled with a soft, alluring sound.

"Lukas, go easy on her," she quipped. "Lucian is infatuated with her. Besides, she’s still the Madam of Dominion."

"Still," Lukas stressed. "But not for long. Damn it, Nikki, why did you even agree to take that project? If you hadn’t, that woman wouldn’t have had a chance."

He clicked his tongue, frustration and humiliation evident in his tone.

"Just tell me if you need anything. I’ll help you—whatever it takes to put that woman in her place."
