My Second Marriage with the Mafia Kingpin

Chapter 97: Make Lucian Yours Tonight.

In the other escort car, Red drove, his eyes fixed on the vehicle ahead.

"Say..." From the front passenger seat beside him, Rum—the most talkative among them—tilted his head. "...did she clone herself?"

Everyone in the back—Gin, Vodka, and Tank—looked at the front passenger in confusion. But then again, the trio exchanged glances as they recalled Ashley’s look for tonight.

The Madam of Dominion was childish, and it showed in the way she dressed, the way she smiled, and the way she childishly harassed them. Childish and unhinged was not the best combination; hence, their constant displeasure and stress whenever she was around.

Avoiding her had been their daily goal lately because of that.

But tonight, she didn’t just look different.

The air around her was different as well; even her strides appeared mature.

"Who knows?" Red grumbled, his face sour as he maintained their speed. "Whether she cloned herself or hired a look-alike doesn’t matter. As long as she doesn’t humiliate herself, that’s more than enough."

"Dang it." Hearing that, Rum scrunched his nose. "Now that you mention it, I’m a little worried."

"I’ve never seen the two of them attend an event," Gin, the brain of their group, spoke from the back. "And I’ve never heard of her attending such events. Is the time with Reina enough?"

"The master is not the best at these events either," Vodka nodded. "He doesn’t have much patience and gets easily annoyed because everything is just too loud for him."

Attending events such as this was nothing new to Lucian or to them, and everyone knew Lucian’s patience for such things was thinner than usual.

Why?

Because there were always many women at these events who approached him and invaded his personal space.

Lucian never liked that.

If anything, he would sanitize himself as if trying to scrub the contact off. Even an accidental touch would have him cleaning his hands until they were red and burning.

The only woman who could cling to him without getting pushed away was Ashley.

That unhinged woman.

So, in situations like this, Lucian would set a timer for how long he stayed—and strictly follow it.

Thirty minutes.

That was the longest he would stay at an event.

But somehow, that only made him more sought-after. Knowing he rarely stayed, men who wanted any kind of connection with him would try to monopolize his time.

But with Ashley in the mix tonight, the five of them had no idea how it would turn out.

"For once, I want to pray!" Rum intoned. "I hope the master just drags her away after thirty minutes."

The rest nodded, sharing the same thought.

More than thirty minutes?

They had no idea what could happen.

Meanwhile, in a hotel somewhere...

Carmella and Marshal paused mid-conversation as they turned toward the entrance.

Stepping out was their beautiful, beloved daughter—Isabella.

"Oh, my goodness!" Carmella raised her hands to her lips, letting them hover inches away so as not to smear her lipstick.

As for Marshal, his smile stretched, satisfied.

There, their little princess was stunning as ever.

Donning a champagne dress that accentuated her fair skin and figure, her hair flowing down with one side tucked behind her ear, she was truly beautiful.

"If this were a red carpet event, I am certain you’d be making headlines!" Marshal laughed heartily. "Such a beautiful angel. Truly, I am blessed!"

"Of course," Carmella nodded in satisfaction.

Isabella stopped a step before her parents, smiling sweetly at their proud remarks. She had prepared for this since her mother told her about it. Marshal had even arranged the best glam team and designers to create her look for tonight.

"Ah, sweetheart." Marshal cleared his throat, nodding at his daughter as he offered his arm. "Let’s go."

Carmella smiled as she watched her husband escort their daughter into the limousine. Marshal then reached out for his wife and assisted her like a true family man before getting in himself.

The event was held very close to Dominion’s territory.

If not for the truce between Dominion and the Di Carpios, they wouldn’t even dare step foot here. However, since the marriage between Lucian and Ashley, the Di Carpios had no problem entering territories under Dominion’s protection.

Marshal could even conduct business within them, expanding his reach significantly.

It was the same for Dominion, though Lucian rarely made use of it. If anything, Dominion only used the territories under Marshal for more convenient transport when necessary.

On their way, Marshal chugged down a glass of champagne before turning to the beautiful ladies riding with him.

He smiled in satisfaction, seeing how refined his daughter had become—all thanks to his wife, who had raised her well.

"Isabella, have you studied the profiles I handed you?" he asked, only to be met with a sweet smile.

"Of course, Dad," Isabella nodded. "I studied them and memorized them all. Thanks to that, I feel confident about this event."

"Good!" Marshal intoned. "My intel says this industry is one of the fastest-growing, and people are already gatekeeping it. The profit is not only massive, but it’ll also help our family grow even more."

"Dear, don’t worry about it," Carmella chimed in confidently. "Don’t you trust Isabella? She’s going to nail it."

Isabella nodded. "Dad, I’ve met a lot of people through all the parties I’ve attended. As long as I know their preferences, it’s easy for us to get what we want."

"Good, good!" Marshal nodded. "I’m just asking. Don’t forget that the chances of Lucian being there are high."

Hearing that, Isabella’s smile widened. Her heart fluttered, and she lowered her head slightly, her eyes softening with affection.

He would be there tonight, she thought, blushing. If he sees me... I’m sure he’ll realize he chose the wrong Di Carpio.

Compared to her, Ashley was nothing.

None of them even expected Ashley to be there at all.

Why would she?

Her only role in Dominion was to fill the empty position of Madam De Luca, and everyone knew that.

Carmella stroked Isabella’s back, smiling reassuringly. "Dear, don’t be too distracted tonight, alright?" She winked when Isabella looked up, then leaned closer and whispered,

"Once things settle at the event, I have a plan to make Lucian yours tonight."

Drawing back, Carmella wore a knowing look as Isabella stared at her. Isabella pursed her lips, blushing, and nodded—trusting her mother completely.

As for Marshal, he enjoyed his drink and cast them a sidelong glance. Seeing the look on his wife’s face, he didn’t bother warning them.

He was already aware of Isabella’s infatuation with Lucian and had even proposed replacing Ashley with her.

Lucian had shut that down immediately with a warning to never bring it up again.

Aside from being able to go in and out of Dominion’s territory, there’s nothing else I benefit from this marriage, he thought, frowning. That’s because that little whore is not doing her job properly. Such a useless daughter.

Then, he glanced at Isabella again.

But if it’s Isabella, I’m sure Lucian will be more satisfied and I can expand the business further. Instead of just being content with the small fraction I’m getting now.

Smirking, a glint flickered in Marshal’s eyes.

To tie down a man like that... I just need Isabella to carry his child.
