I Regressed With a 10,000x God-Tier Multiplier

Chapter 121: The End of the World

The colossal purple eye dominated the heavens.

It was hundreds of miles wide. It was a jagged tear in the fabric of reality that replaced the starry night sky.

The swirling pitch-black iris stared directly down at the floating city of Zephyria.

The violent purple fire rimming the eyelid burned with enough heat to boil the upper atmosphere.

Lucifer stood on the high balcony of the central keep. He did not step back.

He rested his iron gauntlets on the cold stone railing. The Heart of Ruin pulsed frantically at his hip. It sensed the apocalyptic volume of death magic bleeding through the dimensional fissure.

[System Warning: Planar Barrier Collapsed.]

[Global Event Initiated: The Abyssal Invasion.]

[Danger Level: Absolute Annihilation.]

"It is looking right at us," Elara whispered.

The Valkyrie stood at Lucifer’s side. Her Twilight wings were completely rigid. Her golden eyes were wide and reflected the bruised-purple fire of the cosmic horror above them.

Even as a Tier 5 Primordial Entity, the sheer scale of the Abyssal tear was paralyzing.

"It sees the city," Lucifer stated smoothly. His void-swirling eyes did not blink. "But we are not the primary target. We are too high. We are heavily shielded. The Abyss always takes the path of least resistance first."

As if responding to his words, the massive black pupil of the eye shifted.

It looked past the floating black mountain of Zephyria. It focused on the sprawling unprotected continent resting fifty thousand feet below.

The center of the black pupil tore open!

It was not a portal. It was a dam breaking!

A deafening planetary screech echoed through the stratosphere. The sound shattered the remaining glass in the ruined cities below. It whipped the oceans into violent churning tsunamis!

The Abyssal Vanguard poured out of the tear!

They did not march. They flowed like a localized plague of locusts. Millions upon millions of demonic entities erupted from the pitch-black void.

[System: Hostile Entities Spawning.]

[Entity: Abyssal Gargoyles (Level 60 - Aerial Swarm)]

[Entity: Void-Rays (Level 65 - Heavy Bombers)]

[Quantity: Incalculable.]

The sky turned entirely black!

The sheer volume of monsters blotted out the purple fire of the rift. The swarm was so dense it looked like a solid falling ocean of jagged black chitin, leathery wings, and glowing green necrotic energy.

The monsters did not dive toward Zephyria. The ten thousand Cryo-Pylons ringing the floating city projected a massive invisible dome of absolute zero magic.

The Vanguard swarm bypassed the lethal freezing zone. They banked around the floating mountain and plunged directly toward the surface of the earth.

"They are ignoring us," Sarah gasped. The Star-Touched Oracle gripped her Scepter of Cosmic Alignment tightly. Her cosmic sight tracked the falling horde. "They are heading straight for the capital."

Lucifer looked down over the edge of the balcony.

Miles below, the Sanctum of Solaris sat completely exposed.

The Royal Palace, the ruined Grand Cathedral, and the sprawling stone districts were defenseless. Lucifer had stripped the city of its entire army, its elite guards, and its siege mages. The frail King Valerius was sitting alone in his throne room.

The Abyssal swarm hit the ground.

It was not a battle. It was an instant planetary execution!

From the belly of the descending swarm, thousands of massive Void-Rays opened their maws. They unleashed a synchronized apocalyptic bombardment of liquid hellfire.

Thick towering pillars of corrosive green and pitch-black fire slammed into the earth!

The Sanctum of Solaris vanished in a single breath.

The white marble walls of the capital did not crumble, they instantly melted into glowing slag! The heavy iron portcullises evaporated.

The massive beautiful golden domes of the remaining temples shattered under the kinetic impact of the bombardment! They turned to liquid metal that rained down on the screaming citizens.

Lucifer watched the Royal Palace take a direct hit from a concentrated beam of green fire.

The enchanted stone structure simply ceased to exist! The throne room, the King, and the royal treasury were wiped off the map in a fraction of a second. There was no heroic last stand. The Crown was erased.

"The Cathedral," Lyra whispered.

The Grand Cathedral of the Lumina Order was the holiest site in the human kingdoms. It took the brunt of the swarm’s physical assault.

Millions of Abyssal Gargoyles crashed into the holy structure. They tore the white marble pillars apart with their bare claws. They ripped the remaining priests and acolytes to shreds and gorged on their flesh.

The holy wards of the Church were deprived of their Saintess and their angels. They failed instantly! The Cathedral collapsed into a mountain of burning rubble and ash.

[Global Status Update.]

[Faction Eliminated: The Coalition of Kings.]

[Faction Eliminated: The Lumina Order.]

[Human Population: Rapid Decline. 99% Casualty Rate Projected.]

Lucifer swiped the blue interface away.

The destruction did not stop at the capital. The Hellfire bombardment swept outward like a tidal wave of pure death!

The lush green forests surrounding the city caught fire. They burned with a sickly purple flame that consumed the trees in seconds.

The rivers boiled and turned to toxic steam. The massive mountain ranges to the east cracked and shattered as giant Abyssal siege beasts landed on the peaks. They crushed the stone under their immense weight.

The continent was dying. The surface of the world was being terraformed into a charred ash-choked wasteland in a matter of minutes.

On the lower tiers of Zephyria, absolute terror gripped the mortal army.

Thirteen million conscripted soldiers, mercenaries, and refugees rushed to the black-stone battlements. They peered over the edge of the floating city. They looked down through the transparent absolute zero shield generated by the Cryo-Pylons.

They saw their world burning.

They saw the exact spots where their homes, their families, and their cities used to be. They saw nothing but oceans of green fire and swarming black demons!

A Royal Guard dropped his halberd. The heavy weapon clattered against the stone. He fell to his knees and stared down at the molten slag that used to be the Royal Palace.

"The King..." the Guard choked with his voice barely a whisper. "The capital is gone. Everything is gone."

Next to him, a scarred mercenary veteran grabbed the stone parapet and his knuckles turned white. He watched a wave of hellfire instantly vaporize a massive coastal trade port.

"If we were down there..." the mercenary breathed with his eyes wide with unadulterated horror. He looked up at the massive humming blue Cryo-Pylons protecting the city.

He turned and looked toward the central keep where the dark-armored Warlord stood on the balcony.

"He knew," the mercenary realized. His voice rose and carried over the panicked murmurs of the surrounding troops. "The Grand Marshal knew! He didn’t steal the army. He saved us!"

The realization cascaded through the ranks like a physical shockwave.

Thirteen million people looked down at the apocalypse, and then they looked up at the man who had forced them into the sky!

Lucifer had dragged them out of their beds. He had forced them to sign blood contracts. He had stripped them of their wealth and their autonomy.

But as they watched the surface of the planet turn into a literal hellscape, the resentment vanished entirely.

He had pulled them out of the fire.

The panic on the battlements instantly morphed into absolute terrifying religious devotion. Millions of soldiers dropped to their knees on the cold black stone.

They bowed their heads toward the central keep and pledged their souls, their blood, and their lives to the Warlord of Obsidian.

Lucifer did not look down at his worshipping army.

He kept his void-swirling eyes fixed on the burning continent below.

The heat rising from the surface was immense. It hit the bottom of Zephyria’s atmospheric shield and created a massive swirling layer of dark toxic ash clouds directly beneath the floating city.

"They are erasing the earth," Vexia noted as she hovered a few inches off the balcony floor. The Sanguine Princess crossed her pale arms. Her red bat wings twitched nervously. "The Abyssal Vanguard is not looking for a fight. They are cleansing the board."

"They are clearing the landing zone," Lucifer corrected her smoothly.

In his past life, Lucifer had been down there. He remembered the excruciating pain of the green fire.

He remembered the desperate pathetic attempts of the Royal Army to hold a broken shield wall against monsters that blotted out the sun. He remembered dying in the mud.

This time, he was not in the mud. He was fifty thousand feet in the air! He stood in an impenetrable fortress and was surrounded by Mythic-tier commanders and an army of mechanical gods.

The old world was dead. The King was ash. The Church was rubble.

Lucifer felt no grief. The slate was wiped clean.

"The surface is lost," Lucifer announced with his voice a low cold rumble that carried no pity. He gripped the hilt of his ruby-red longsword.

"The terrestrial kingdoms are finished. Zephyria is the only human territory left in existence."

He turned away from the burning world.

He looked at his commanders. Elara, Lyra, Sarah, Isolde, and Vexia stood watching the destruction.

They were the apex of their respective magical alignments. They were the true rulers of the new age.

"The tutorial is over," Lucifer stated smoothly. "The Abyss has claimed the ground. But they do not own the sky."

---------------------------------------------------------------------

The sky above Zephyria was a colossal pitch-black void dominated by the burning purple eye of the Abyssal Sovereign.

The world below was an ocean of swirling ash and green hellfire.

On the high balcony of the central keep, Lyra stumbled.

The Dawn Saintess did not drop her silver broadsword, but her knees hit the cracked obsidian floor with a heavy metallic clatter.

She gasped with a ragged desperate sound tearing from her throat.
