Chapter 153: The Light Shines in the Darkness, but the Darkness Does Not Accept the Light
In the boundless, vast expanse of the sky,
a brilliant radiance, the likes of which had never been seen, silently began to bloom.
It was as if the universe’s gentlest secret had its mysterious veil lifted by the soft morning breeze.
The golden light, like a magnificent and meticulously woven satin,
poured down from the clouds, transforming the entire sky into a splendid tapestry of a golden dawn.
As the first ray of light gently touched the earth, all of creation seemed to hold its breath in quiet anticipation.
Even the finest specks of dust
trembled within the light, filled with expectation for the miracle about to occur.
At this critical, highly anticipated moment, a long, thin fissure split open in the sky.
An Angel, treading upon a golden staircase, slowly descended into the mortal world.
She possessed long, golden hair that could eclipse the sun itself.
Each strand seemed to tell an ancient, sacred story,
dancing gently in the breeze like the most delicate of ribbons, tracing graceful, enchanting arcs through the air.
Her deep, bright eyes held an endless tenderness and compassion.
She wore an iridescent robe, every inch of its fabric seemingly imbued with a vigorous life force.
It swayed gently with her steps, emitting a soft glow that complemented the surrounding golden dawn, a beauty that was simply breathtaking.
But most striking of all were the pair of pure, immaculate wings on her back.
They were broad and powerful, and each beat seemed to dispel the world’s gloom, bringing with it hope and light.
Her figure was tall and graceful, like a fairy stepping out of a painting, each step a study in boundless rhythm and beauty.
Her face was a rare and absolute beauty, her features as exquisite as nature’s finest masterpiece.
Every line was perfect—neither too harsh nor too soft—making her unforgettable after a single glance.
In that moment, time seemed to freeze as the entire world was immersed in this sudden, wondrous beauty.
The Angel’s descent filled every creature gazing up at her with an unprecedented warmth and strength.
"In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.
The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it."
"A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones."
The Pope slowly bowed his head.
CLICK, CLICK, CLICK...
It was only after hearing the Pope’s voice that the reporters snapped out of their daze.
They began frantically mashing the buttons on their camera equipment, desperate to capture this moment for eternity.
Everyone was utterly stunned!
This scene was the very image of deities descending to the mortal world, perfectly matching their every imagined fantasy.
Even the reporters responsible for recording the live broadcast
couldn’t help but break into blissful smiles, influenced by the aura radiating from the descending Angel.
The Angel’s bare, jade-like feet stepped upon the void. With each step she took through the air, layers of golden ripples spread outwards.
Finally, the Angel came to a stop above those struggling at death’s door. With a gentle wave of her hand,
rich, fragrant raindrops began to fall, scattering down upon the terminally ill.
All the reporters immediately aimed their cameras at the dying patients, trying to capture every single detail.
The reporters, along with everyone else present, were desperate to know what this Angel from the heavens intended to do.
Could the Angel really save these people who looked to be on their very last breath?
"Look!"
a reporter exclaimed, holding a camera on one shoulder and pointing with his other hand at a patient on a stretcher.
The patient was so thin he was nothing but skin and bones.
Each difficult gasp
was like the pull of a rickety old bellows, seeming ready to fall apart at any moment.
His eyes were sunken and had lost all the light of life, staring listlessly at the sky.
Even as the golden rain, brimming with vigorous Life Force, fell from the sky, he showed no reaction.
The drops quickly landed on his clothes, soaked into his skin, and seeped into his body.
The viewers in the live stream,
all the reporters,
and the devout crowd gathered in the square all stared with wide eyes,
unwilling to miss the slightest change.
They were all desperate to know:
could this Angel truly save these people from the brink of death?
The patients’ families were tense to the extreme. Some covered their eyes tightly, while others even began to sob quietly,
not daring to watch what would happen next, afraid that their last glimmer of hope would be extinguished.
Just then,
the face of the skin-and-bones patient suddenly flushed with an unhealthy red.
Then, his whole body began to twitch as he took huge, ragged breaths,
as if trying to suck all the surrounding air into his lungs at once.
As more and more raindrops filled with vigorous Life Force fell into his body,
his withered, wrinkled flesh began to fill out at an astonishing speed, becoming full and regaining a healthy glow.
This entire process took only a few short minutes.
Afterward, the man’s eyes grew brighter and brighter, and he actually sat up on the stretcher by himself.
He was a young man who looked to be in his thirties. Thick, dark hair had grown back on his head. Staring at his own powerful hands, his face was a mask of disbelief.
The man opened his mouth wide, trying to swallow as many of the raindrops as he could.
He already knew he had been brought back from the brink of death to a state of full vitality,
and it was all thanks to the raindrops falling from the sky.
’If I can drink more, maybe I can truly secure my hope of survival.’
The young man then grew even stronger, his face beaming with a blissful smile.
"My God, this is a miracle! If I weren’t seeing it with my own eyes, I’d suspect someone was using some advanced new technology to fake this footage!"
"If Angels really exist, does this mean humans will never have to die? That we’ll no longer have to fear disease?"
"Look at the other one!"
Some reporters focused their live feeds on the healed man in his thirties,
while another group turned their cameras toward a woman who had been impaled by a steel rebar.
This woman had been extremely unlucky.
The rebar had entered through the lower half of her body and exited through the top of her head.
It was stained with blood and other mixed substances.
With an injury like that, not even the world’s top hospitals could guarantee her survival.
The woman’s mouth was wide open.
She would only manage a breath after a long pause, and even then, it seemed as if she couldn’t swallow the air she’d just taken in.
Large drops of rain quickly fell upon the woman.
The sharp steel rebar began to melt at an incredible speed.
Encased in the raindrops, the molten steel separated from her body and fell to the ground.
Then, the woman’s severe wounds began to heal rapidly. She took a sudden, deep breath
and sat up on the stretcher in astonishment.
The woman was utterly shocked. She was alive again!
