Chapter 115: The Power of the Ancestor, Can You Really Withstand It?

"Can you really withstand the Power of the Ancestor?"

Jerry seemed to have regained his confidence.

The phantom he had summoned, however, seemed unable to coalesce into a solid form.

Wave after wave of a sinister aura rippled out in all directions.

The surrounding trees, flowers, and grass withered rapidly, completely unable to withstand the erosion of this sinister aura.

It was just like when Xiao Cangqing had faced him.

Upon sensing the extent of Chu He’s strength, Jerry also began to use his Bloodline Power without reservation,

summoning the Power of the Ancestor to empower his body.

This act, however, would take a toll on Jerry’s body.

After this battle, Jerry would need the blood of at least tens of thousands of pure young women

to replenish the Bloodline Power he had lost.

To Jerry, however, this was a trivial price to pay.

Jerry’s hands began to transform, turning into a pair of ugly and nauseating bat wings made of withered black flesh.

At the same time, Jerry moved as if he were teleporting, rapidly closing the distance to Chu He.

The bat wings sliced toward Chu He’s head with lethal sharpness.

’A Vampire from a thousand-year lineage certainly has a few tricks. I just wonder, who exactly is this Ancestor he mentioned, the source of his Power of the Ancestor?’

With this question in mind,

Chu He coated his Xuanyuan Sword with Thunder Power and slashed down at Jerry’s bat wings.

The Power of Thunder and Lightning, combined with the pure, unyielding might of the Xuanyuan Sword,

easily sliced the entire wing clean off the instant it made contact.

"You think that’s all it takes?" Jerry, however, was not surprised.

The earth began to tremble, and the soil coalesced into giant arms that arched up like earthen dragons.

Then, they swirled and intertwined from all directions, surging toward Chu He like an earthen torrent intent on submerging him.

’He can control the elements, too?’

Chu He raised his chin, gazing at the swirling earthen dragons, and flew up, sword in hand.

Blades of jade-green grass instantly materialized between heaven and earth, transforming into a sharp and unstoppable storm of Sword Qi.

It turned and engulfed the earthen dragons, as well as Jerry, who was controlling the element of earth.

The blades of grass, condensed from Sword Qi,

shredded the earthen dragons Jerry controlled into countless fragments. They scattered to the wind before even reaching Chu He.

Chu He threw the Xuanyuan Sword, and it shot forward as if piercing through space itself, viciously stabbing Jerry through the heart.

The Xuanyuan Sword passed through Jerry’s body, leaving a hole straight through his chest where his heart had been.

One could see clearly through it that his heart had been completely obliterated.

After passing through Jerry’s body, the Xuanyuan Sword flew in a circle and landed back in Chu He’s hand, not a speck of blood or flesh upon it.

"Do you really think you’ve managed to kill me?"

There was no hint of panic on Jerry’s face; instead, he calmly questioned Chu He.

His eyes held a mocking glint, eager to see how Chu He would react.

Chu He didn’t respond, simply waiting in silence for Jerry’s next move.

Jerry wiped the blood from his lips with the back of his hand, then gently placed his right hand over the hole in his chest.

"Great Ancestor, grant me the power of regeneration! The glory of the Blood Race will never fade!"

As Jerry chanted the words, the phantom behind him dissolved into black smoke and poured swiftly into his body.

Then, where his heart had been pierced—the very heart obliterated by the Xuanyuan Sword,

new blood vessels, nerves, and muscles began to sprout from the clinging black smoke at a speed visible to the naked eye, weaving and tangling together.

In the span of a few short breaths, a brand-new heart was already beating powerfully within the bloody cavity in his chest.

The shattered bones and torn flesh of his chest followed,

and soon, the grievous wound had completely healed as if it were never there.

Chu He’s gaze was piercing as he stared at the man before him. He spoke slowly, "That sliver of power in your body, so different from that of an ordinary Evil Spirit, is the source of your ability to heal.

"However, that’s the extent of your power. You clearly haven’t grasped its true essence.

"Or perhaps, you don’t count as a truly high-ranking member of the Vampire clan."

Chu He remarked thoughtfully.

A hint of disbelief replaced Jerry’s smug satisfaction.

A feeling suddenly took root in his heart.

It seemed that Chu He’s barrage of attacks had merely been a test of the unique power within him,

the power passed down from the Ancestor.

And now, Chu He had not only successfully probed this power, but he had even deduced Jerry’s status within the Blood Race.

The hierarchy of the Blood Race was strict and rigid.

Chu He spoke up, "Do you have anything to say for yourself? Perhaps I’ll be merciful and spare your life."

A grim smile appeared on Jerry’s face as he declared, "I admit, you’re far stronger than I had anticipated.

"I admit I’m no match for you, but that doesn’t mean you can kill me.

"The power of the Blood Race is not something you mortals can possibly fathom,

"even if you are impressive enough by mortal standards to challenge me."

Chu He’s expression remained impassive.

His face, calm as a dark, still pond, sent an inexplicable chill down Jerry’s spine.

Chu He thrust the Xuanyuan Sword forward again, and for an instant, the world seemed to stutter, crisscrossed by golden threads.

In the blink of an eye, Jerry felt a fleeting, sharp pain in his heart.

Immediately after, his entire body began to tremble violently, like a sifting screen.

He opened his mouth, and blood gushed out like a fountain, spattering the ground.

The Mysterious Power within him surged toward his heart, trying to prevent further damage.

However, when the Mysterious Power reached his heart, it vanished without a trace, like a stone dropped into the ocean.

The black phantom around him instantly dissipated, no longer having the power to sustain itself.

Jerry collapsed to his knees, and his once-arrogant eyes finally filled with fear.

Jerry hadn’t even been able to see how Chu He’s last strike had injured him.

Death was already upon him, leaving no time to dwell on the question.

"No, I don’t want to die!

"Didn’t you want to ask me for information about the Blood Race?

"My rank within the Blood Race is Count! Above Counts are Dukes, above Dukes are twelve Princes, and above the Princes...!"

Before he could finish, Jerry’s mouth suddenly turned to burning ash and dissipated into the air.

His entire face, head, and torso followed. In his final moments, Jerry’s eyes were wide, filled with endless regret.

He regretted coming alone to kill Xiao Cangqing.

Jerry had never imagined that the person backing Xiao Cangqing and the New World Organization

would actually be Chu He, the number one expert on Blue Star.

But before his regret could fade, his consciousness was extinguished amidst the ashes covering the ground.
